The more I think about it, the more I think it’s best they save the Smash direct for next month

OR or here me out
announce a new character and at the end annouce a smash direct detailing more new info in novemeber with a date like how they did after cloud was revealed in november for the smash direct in december

So at this point, I'm expecting only a final direct left, and no more individual reveals. I think the "lower rate" comment by Sakurai was just specifying that there would be significantly fewer announcements left, and I'm putting my money on just one more: A Smash Direct.

On the low end, 2 Characters (1 echo and 1 unique): Ken and Incineroar obviously


On the high end, 6 (3 echoes and 3 Uniques). My guesses are:
- Ken (leaked)
- Incineroar (allegedly leaked)
- Shadow (Like Isabelle)
- Skull Kid (Like Isabelle)
- Dixie (Diddy's missing colors so far and jab)
- Geno (Square rep possibly)

Replace any of the above with Elma, Isaac, BWD, or RH rep, even Celica as well, as each have some pretty decent merits for being in the game. Characters like Black Shadow, Medusa, and Black Knight are possible shoe-ins for obvious echoes, but who knows. I personally don't think Steve is a character and only AT related content, and rather Banjo will be one of the first DLC characters. My personal opinion though.

So anywhere from 2-6, but I still dream that Sakurai will bamboozle us and just give us all 14 of the characters I just mentioned

Tl;dr: scientifically proven 14+ more characters or your money back guaranteed.


Edit: I'm going to assume the direct will be anywhere from October 18th (this Thursday) to November 2nd. Anything after is pushing for a really bad leak to happen.

Being able to do each level in reverse is a nice concept. I still wish Nintendo would make a 3D Yoshi game at some point though.

What kind of control scheme do you think would work best? Would it just be basic “face toward enemy and click attack” to try to aim your tongue? Would you be able to strafe? Would you instead aim with a pointer like in Galaxy 2? Would you instead aim using Splatoon’s controls from a third person camera?

It did. I don’t even think Geno is “the next big thing,” just similar. There will probably never be a character with demand quite as overwhelming as the characters we’ve had before. Characters that can endure for years and years. Just about every major, popular Nintendo character is in now.

There are a lot of people now who are saying they’re basically satisfied with the roster now. People who have been speculating since Melee. I think we’re only going to get an idea of what the next hotness is when the next Smash starts up - and a new generation of fans drive the conversation.

They're doing an event with a bar in Montreal on Thursday, advertising an announcement of some sort.

Apparently people have dmed the bar asking about it and the bar said Nintendo will only give more details on Wednesday. (This part is unconfirmed, so take it with a grain of salt.)

At this point it could be a lot of things. It could be a viewing party for a Nintendo announcement, or just simply be a local thing. We'll have to wait until Wednesday to see.

Not just Canada, but Quebec.

I also want to clarify this for people: From what we understand the announcement wouldn't be made at this bar.

It seems more like if we DO get something, it would be announced the day before worldwide, with Nintendo of Canada also happening to host a viewing party for the event at the bar.

Nintendo wouldn't give exclusive rights to announce a character to the Canadian branch, and to add to that, the Canadian branch wouldn't announce it at a bar of all places.

I looked into the bar a little more and the place is actually a small gaming center, featuring an arcade gallery as it’s main attraction.

So, maybe this isn’t as unrelated as we thought. I just hope that it gives us something new, like new footage of characters we haven’t gotten a more deeper look at yet.

Though, I doubt we’ll get a direct announcment though. It’ll probably happen at another date.

Anyway my guess is at most they will be getting the Ultimate Demo for the night/weekend. Which, hey I haven't gotten to play the demo yet and if a local bar got the demo I'd be pretty hype. It would be funny if a direct got leaked from a Canadian bar viewing party though lol

Yeah, if it's Smash-related, that'd be my guess. Couldn't really see it being anything but. Even the Nintendo World Store doesn't get to host exclusive reveals. Some unaffiliated bar, no matter where, no matter how cool (and Arcade MTL is pretty awesome, but still) isn't above that.

Why would only Nintendo of Canada make an announcement, and tell everyone to go to... a bar?

That's a bit weird but Arcade MTL is a videogame bar, basically like an old video arcade where they serve alcohol. Just wanted to specify it's not a 'regular' bar.

I just checked their facebook, there's a Smash 4 tournament on October 19, it doesn't confirm anything but i just wanted to share this detail.

Edit: They organise tournaments regularly for various games, last time they had one for Smash 4 was August 10th.
