As for the echo fighter debate. I love echoes. I have always loved them, even before they were named echoes. I always prefer playing the "underdog" version of a character (Doc main as you can see)

Plus, I don't even consider Chrom an echo fighter. If it was up to me to determine who's an echo and who is not, I wouldn't even list Chrom as one. His drastically different Up B, + Lucina's Sword trail, + Faster timing on his Flare Blade, + no backhanded attacks like Roy are enough differences to make me consider him not an echo, as stupid as thay may sound.

Seriously, just compare him to Lucina or Dark Pit and it's clear they put much more effort into differentiating him from Roy. I love it!

The tournament starts on November 3rd.

This Nintendo Live tournament thing anyone we should actually be interested about announcement-wise?

It’s supposed to be the official Nintendo Japanese tournament for Smash before launch that starts in November. It seems to be a much bigger deal.

We’ll probably know a couple of newcomers by then though, so we’ll probably not get an announcement. Wondering if this version will have add any changes that they have done since May.

I say 10am EDT thats when directs are usually announced, and direct announcements usually fall on tuesday if their later in the week. If not well rip expectations.

Nah, that's not stupid at all. It's pretty weird that Chrom is considered an echo considering every other echo so far shares the exact same move poll with their counterparts. Doc got a new down air, and suddenly he isn't an echo. I mean, I guess he has the Mario Tornado too, but w/e. Rest in Peace Mario's original down air, on that note.

But yeah, Chrom being an echo is kinda weird considering the criteria of all the other echoes so far. He's kinda a weird middle ground.

I'll be pretty shocked if we don't get SOMETHING RH related that's above an enemy, trophy, or song. Considering how close they were in getting a character in Smash 4, I find it very strange Sakurai would just ignore the franchise entirely outside of trophies, enemies, or songs.

I see some new theories flying around here. Sorry, but none of them match my theory. The Release Date Theory.

Ultimate is scheduled to release December 7th, 2018. American singer Aaron Carter was born December 7th, 1987. Aaron's brother Nick is a member of the Backstreet Boys. Streetpass is an application on the Nintendo 3DS. Ya know what has 3 D's? That's right, King Dedede. King Dedede wears clothes that greatly resemble Santa Claus. According to Big Boss, Santa Claus is indeed real. Unreal Tournament is a first person shooter game that was released on many systems, including Sega Dreamcast. On the night of March 18th, 2016 I had a dream about Thwomp being a playable character in Melee. **** was fire, but that has nothing to do with the theory, I just think it's funny.
Anyways, Unreal Tournament, right? That was developed by Epic Games. Epic Games is known nowadays for their hit game Fortnite. In Fortnite, you could don the Infinity Gauntlet and play as Thanos. Thanos is a Marvel character, owned by Disney. And guess who just happens to be owned by Disney too...

That's right. Sora was a lock from the start. He was hiding right under our noses since E3! However, since the 3 D's in Dedede stand for Disney, Death, and Downloadable Content, he will be a DLC fighter. Anyone care to subscribe to my theory?

It has to do with physics. Chrom's are the same as Roy's, Doc's aren't the same as Mario's.

To be fair, was there any confirmation that the blog isn't going to just keep going after release? I haven't heard that and for all we know, they could just keep putting up veteran and newcomer posts to keep hype up...

That's not necessarily true. For the last year or so general directs are announced the day before, so like the 6th and later 13th one was announced on Wednesday. I'd wait until at least Wednesday to decide if we are getting something this week.

However Smash Directs always had special announcments as far as I remember. During 4 did any just get posted by the general Nintendo Twitter? I don't remember...

He has said nothing about a general Microsoft rep. He has only stated there will be Minecraft representation.
Vergeben was not aware of K. Rool. We could still see unique newcomers beyond those three. Unlikely though.

Does anyone else here think that we're going to look back at this all when the game comes out and cringe at some of our own posts? You know, in terms of predictions, arguments and the like...

I don't really cringe, but I was pretty much pushing Amaterasu harder than I should, on nearly every post "Ammy this," "Ammy that." Ugh, I really wished I dialed it back a bit looking back in hindsight. Well I can only improve from here on

Yes, everything will be revealed before then. That doesn't mean the blog will just suddenly stop on Dec 6th. They can and probably will keep posting stuff after release.
