Smash Hero
Hyrule Warriors Impa would be incredibly sick in Smash and I'm no longer cool just accepting her as a Sheik echo unless I have to.

No **** Sherlock. I was being sarcastic.that was easier to predict than the sun going down today
I agree that in the context of his series, he isn't that big a deal and perhaps not 'deserving' (but then no fictional character technically deserves anything). However, there aren't that many other choices for Zelda villains anyway. Vaati gets some love as he's one of the only returning villains other than Ganon, but he hasn't appeared in anything forever and the Capcom Zelda games have largely been ignored in subsequent titles (RIP Onox and Veran too). Who else do we have? Bellum is completely forgettable, not popular and would be difficult to make work. Malladus is just a knock-off Ganon. Ghirahim is already deconfirmed. Dark Link works just fine as a costume. The only villain that 'deserves' it is possibly pig Ganon, but I doubt he'll be happening as he's technically already part of Dorf's final smash.gonna get flamed for this but I don't think Skull Kid is the most deserving Zelda villain, let alone character, to make it in smash. I won't be incredibly salty if he makes it but yeah that's just my opinion.
Shoulda used a icon for that.No **** Sherlock. I was being sarcastic.
I didn't think I would need to. Sorry. *shrug*Shoulda used a icon for that.
To be honest, the whole "recency" thing shouldn't even matter. However, what should is the nature of the series. The whole point is the characters aren't supposed to fight, but understand each other. Throwing in an Undertale character outside of a Trophy could compromise the message it's supposed to send. There's a reason Toby Fox is clear that Frisk would never be a fighter due to the point behind the game.I personally am not interested in undertale at all, and the absolutely cancerous fanbase doesn't help matters either. That being said, I won't insta judge you if you like it, as I am well aware of and have brushed up against cancerous segments of various fanbases, especially as a Sonic fan But any Undertale character for smash? Nahhhhhh. No. Seeing as undertale very recently got onto the switch, I don't think it'd happen until smash 6. I'd be fine with an assist trophy reference though if Sakurai really wants to.
Well ultimately (heh) Sakurai decides based on whatever criteria he wants to use, and our arguing isn't going to change that. What he does notice is POSITIVE support for a character's inclusion though. I think theorycrafting who's going to be in is fine but when we try and tear down each other over our preferences/who we want, that's crossing lines. We can all like who we want and whoever makes it, in the end we're getting a ****ing awesome smash game, probably the best one ever made, and possibly one of the best video games ever made.If you want my cynical, stubborn opinion I think people are going way overboard with who should and shouldn't be in.
I can see why Sakurai toned it down a bit in Brawl: Zelda got a whole lotta love in Melee. I can't really complain about Zelda representation in other matters, either: the stage selection is fantastic, it's got a great range of items and the music selection is nothing to sniff at (I'm just so happy that Molgera is coming back). But the character variety is just a little ... lacking. There are people on this forum whose parents had not even met yet, the last time zelda got a unique newcomer
I often inadvertently test that opinion with my most wanted...If you want my cynical, stubborn opinion I think people are going way overboard with who should and shouldn't be in.
Ganondorf was the mistake kind of loveI can see why Sakurai toned it down a bit in Brawl: Zelda got a whole lotta love in Melee. I’d rather Undyne cause she’s cooler than the skelly boysIf Undertale were to get a character, I'd love for it to be THE GREAT PAPYRUS, with a moveset based around various traps and puzzles.
Here's a special moveset to illustrate what I mean. Some day I'll get around to making a full moveset for him.
Neutral Special: Bone Attack - Launches a bone projectile up from the ground that travels forward. However, depending on whether the control stick is moved up or down during the start-up, it will either be a white bone or a blue bone. Blue bones do more damage, but only hit if the opponent is moving, leading to great mixup potential.
Side Special: Electricity Orb - Papyrus launches the orb in a shotput-like fashion, and if it hits, the orb delivers a hearty zap, stunning the opponent for a bit.
Up Special: Cool Dude Jump - Papyrus summons tall bones (which spell out "Cool Dude") from beneath him to launch upwards.
Down Special: You're Blue Now! - This is his attack. This is short-range trap move turns the opponent blue for a short period of time. During this time, gravity on them is increased, decreasing their jump height and air speed.
Final Smash: Papyrus' Special Attack!
Though not seen in Undertale proper due to a Dog stealing it, some dialogue implies Papyrus' Special Attack is his own version of Sans' Gaster Blasters. Naturally, this would be his Final Smash.
Screw Sans, THIS is the Undertale rep we need!If Undertale were to get a character, I'd love for it to be THE GREAT PAPYRUS, with a moveset based around various traps and puzzles.

Undyne? Cooler than Papyrus? No way!I’d rather Undyne cause she’s cooler than the skelly boys
It’s funny you chose that character specifically, because she’s the only main character that you never fight, no matter what path you take.If ANY Undertale character should get in, it's that one labcoat-wearing nervous triceratops...
I don't know much about Undertale, who'd have thunk?
4D Chess my friend!!! My knowledge runs DEEP!!!It’s funny you chose that character specifically, because she’s the only main character that you never fight, no matter what path you take.
She's not a Tricaratops she doesn't have any horns. If ANY Undertale character should get in, it's that one labcoat-wearing nervous triceratops...

Speaking of Mettaton, here's a kind of neat fun fact.>Non-Sans Undertale rep talk
>No mention of a certain fabulous robot
you don’t know what you’re missing, darlings~
Using a villain's own song against them? Where have I heard that before? Not only does it sound great, but your using the Villain's song against them! That's awesome!
Ah yes, two characters moveset in one, yes, double the work and dev time alongside Balance...What if Frisk had two movesets and two final smashes?
A pacifist moveset where they fight accidentally using household items, like Isabelle.
And a genocide moveset where they fight using violent attacks with murderous intent.
And depending on which attacks you used more during the fight your final smash would either summon your friends to help you, or summon Chara to destroy everything.
I dunno how this would be implemented, but it sounds cool!
There was a Pokemon x Mother crossover game? How am I just learning about this now!Using a villain's own song against them? Where have I heard that before?

Insert outdated joke about Sans being Ness.
I'm the same, I'm happy with any Square-Enix characters, Geno too.I must be the only person who doesn't feel Geno really needs to be a newcomer.
Cause with the others we've gotten so far, only referring to the unique ones, they played major parts in their respective series despite one of them being dormant for ten years since up to this point.
I also get that Sakurai wants him as well, but yeah he only was a major player in one sole game and even then was just a party member.
I wouldn't be against him getting in and I don't hate him at all, I just don't see his inclusion as a huge deal whatsoever.
Interestingly enough, not even having a new boss fight via DLC or a Switch exclusive for that matter. It’s funny you chose that character specifically, because she’s the only main character that you never fight, no matter what path you take.
I smell a new fan rule. All the reasons they wouldn't fit well in Smash aside (of which fanbase is not one of them, as evidenced by Sonic being playable), Undertale's entire cast just oozes personality. They are about as memorable as characters can get.
