Bad: Too many Mario characters (and no is a problem), Way too many Pokémon characters (18 is a ****ing lot), Knuckles before Tails is a no, Arcade Bunny/Nikki playable...nah, that last AC character nope to (KK Slider >), no Dixie Kong in sight is evil and sinful (same with the lack of Funky, no 4th Kid Icarus character, and GK as a Meta Knight alt is better (same with Toadette as an alt for Captain Toad and Yarn Yoshi for Yoshi)

Good: Zelda character choices, the Mother Trinity, Kamek, Maxwell, Baloon Fighter, Fawful, Paper Mario, Tom Nook, and Octolings

Out of all Robot Masters, why Wood Man, specifically? Is Dr. Wily using an alt account here?

In my opinion, there's only two big Japanese 3rd parties that still need reps: Dragon Quest and Resident Evil. Anything after that is really just a nice extra.

Regarding western 3rd parties, I think Crash and the Doom Marine are first on that block. I honestly don't know where things would go after those two though.

Besides Banjo-Kazooie, I could see people ask for other Rare characters, Spyro the Dragon, Rayman, Dovaahkin and Lara Croft more strongly. Those wanting more retro Western characters might go after folks like Duke Nukem, Diablo and Earthworm Jim. Definitely going to be some Hat Kid supporters on the indie side of things, I feel.

Edit: Oh, and there's Minecraft's Steve, but I'd rather not talk about that one.

Please don't have both Grovyle and Sceptile. and would rather have K. K. Slider as Isabelle Echo.
Other rhan that, not my choices but fine.

I put both because they have different roles (Sceptile is because of Gen3/Pokken, Grovyle For PMD). And K.K Slider should be unique with a music-based moveset.

Also where is Charizard?

Sakurai admitted that Dark Samus, a character created by an American studio, was added because it was highly requested in the West.

Echoes aren't the most exciting reveals, but it's not like being a clone makes DS any less of a newcomer. We got Western characters in Smash, and I'm sure we'd have plenty more if most of the iconic options didn't originate in Japan. Bias has almost nothing to do with this.

But we still don't have any characters from western IPs yet. Of course, DS, K Rool and Diddy are from western games, but not western IPs. If we do get any, Steve from Minecraft might be the first, I think.

We have no way of knowing that might happen. At this point it's a race between Steve, B-K, Shantae, Rayman and Crash Bandicoot to see who can get that honor.

Of course, for all we know, someone from an IP that hasn't been considered by most people will reach that goal outta nowhere.

I could be with Kirby to make goofy faces.
I'd definitely help Lucina create a grandiose future.
Bowser disowned his kids, so maybe I could help Bowser Jr. commit grand fratricide.
I don't want Ridley, because to me, he is a gigantic ****face.
I think Mario is a good choice, because he is generally fantastic.

No offence but there's a three Gen 3 mons and five that are playable in Pokken so I don't feel Sceptile really fills that kinda role. I also find it funny how you've got at least two pokemon for each gen, except 5, which got none.

I think it's because there wasn't any previous generation Pokémon within BW.
That's where a bulk of complaints I heard were about, not to mention the game not exactly having the best replay value.
I think GF responded to that with Black 2 and White 2, and cut down on plot and added older Pokémon into the mix.

It's a shame that everyone hates it as Gen 5 is one of my favorite gens, and imo one of the best, and is home to a lot of interesting ideas and Pokémon.
I mean it's the only plot oriented game in the series that works extremely well and has a bit of nuance to it.

I always thought Genesect would've been a cool character for Smash 4, especially with the Drives, but given Game Freak's attitude to those games and generation, I just threw those hopes out the window.

Mine too! Pokémon Black to be exact. Gave me good memories, and my love for Electric-types grew from there (Dark later). Sucks that it is always seen as "meh" in general.

Edit: Getting Reshiram, Zekrom and Kyurem all at once was great (needed to trade for Zekrom though)!

I got a few problems with this roster

First of all...WHY IS CHARIZARD REMOVED?!?
No to Piplup - I cannot stand the Pokemon thanks to the anime; ironic how you have 3 water types, 4 grass types, and only one fire here lmao
Who is Isabelle's echo?
Too many Mario universe characters. At least cut 3 of them (Yarn Yoshi, Fawful, and MAYBE Toadette as an alt costume for Captain Toad similar to Bowser Jr and Olimar)
The lack of Dixie Kong, Vaati, Impa, and Skull Kid is disturbing


Pretty solid roster so I'm giving it an 8.8/10
