I fell asleep after watching the Nindies direct; and I agree with @PsychoIncarnate, a lot of Indie titles are starting to blend together. There were like three that looked damn near identical, both in artstyle and playstyle. This isn't a good thing.

There were a lot of arena games (including shovel knight lol) trying to make it out before smash bros.

I need that goose game.

Speaking of which, if any of you haven't gotten Towerfall already, get the Switch version when it comes out. It scratches a similar itch to Smash, but the two can totally coexist. It's great.

Though having Happa -> Hanamogura -> Hanaryu as an evolutionary line would be neat if you made new designs with new typings based on their names.
A Grass/Ground Pokémon evolving into Grass/Dragon one would be neat, if a bit nonsensical.

Well, it'd still be Grass/Ground because doryuu just means mole, unless they did the Mega Ampharos thing again. (Chikorita's evo line was supposed to be a mole?...)

Anyway, getting two quadruped Grass types in Smash would be wild

I can see Geno, but I don't think he's a frontrunner as the race seems pretty even.

- Geno is Geno. He's the popular choice and the one supported by 'the word of God'.
- A Dragon Quest protagonist would be a sensible option as the series is one of the few left that has had lasting popularity since the NES (I know people bring up Ninja Gaiden, but I really think it is Dragon Quest that is the bigger series), especially in Japan where it's a big deal (and Sakurai's favorite game, from what I've seen posted in this thread, is Dragon Quest Builders 2). I can totally see someone like Erdrick working great. That said, I really don't know much about this series.
- Another Final Fantasy character is a bit of a dark horse, but the series has so many protagonists people love. Only around 40% of the Final Fantasy votes on the ballot were, reportedly, Cloud, so we could totally see someone like Cecil, Terra or Lightning here to pad out the Final Fantasy lineup. Hell, Noctis is in Tekken 7 so we could even get him.

I peg the chances of a Squeenix character at ~90%, and I think each option has roughly a 30% chance of happening.

I can't believe the game is called "Untitled Goose Game". Whatever those devs had while making the game is something I want.

Hopefully it will live up to the legends of Goat Simulator.

Yes, but that wasn't formally announced and it was when we didn't have the stage list. We do now, and I really doubt they'd announce a brand new stage by accident. Also about the Pokéball pokémon, just checked and they were all either on the E3 direct or the demo.

WarioWare is mostly it's own thing, with the only common aspect with the Mario series being Wario himself.

Bringing in Waluigi would "taint it's purity". I guess.
