When does everyone think we'll get new information on the site other than music? Do you think it'll be before or after a Direct?

Sure. Lower supply means higher prices. But I'm looking at the demand side of it. If I have a rare and special McGuffin that no one wants, its price will still be low, even if its the only one in the world.

Just browsing through Ebay, and I am seeing a trend with Gamecube games. Games like Wind Waker and Sunshine and the Mario Sports games are lower than say Double Dash, Melee, Fire Emblem ect are much higher. You can find a variety of prices so I'm taking a mental average (not super scientific but what can you do). So scarcity does affect price but only if people want it in the first place, and the more they craze it the higher the price goes. I see demand as a stronger force here so its why I'm using it as a measure of quality. It also works as it gives a long term perspective where sales are in the here and now.

Current Pricecharting price of Paper Mario: TTYD = $34 used/$81 new
Current price of Double Dash = $39/$96
Current price of Melee (which also has the bonus of its competitive scene) = $52/$171
Current price of FE: POR (which is a notoriously scarce game) = $102/$229
NCAA College Basketball 2K3 for the Gamecube = $140/$355

Here's a shining example of the power of scarcity/availability on secondhand prices, where a basic sports game that was released on other consoles and has updated versions since then is a lot more monetarily valuable than highly praised Gamecube staples (even one that also has scarcity issues to boost its price like POR), when sports game are usually notoriously nigh-worthless on the secondhand market after their initial year and never appreciate, all just because of how damn rare it is and being the only game of its series released on the Gamecube (and any Nintendo console for that matter).

Some other Gamecube games more valuable than those aforementioned staples that no one will ever bring up as being remotely in the same league quality-wise? Disney Sports Basketball ($168/$250), Cubivore ($186/$290), Gotcha Force ($207/$326), and Barbie: Treasures in Time ($190/$564).

For another example of a game becoming valuable for factors completely outside its quality there's Hello Kitty Kruisers on the Wii U, which is worth over $60 (when staple Wii U games are about half that or less) and at one point demanded used prices over $100 and new prices up to $300, all because some guy bought up a ton of copies of the game and sold it for massively inflated prices that some people actually paid for. Would you really argue Hello Kitty Kruisers is a better game than Mario Kart 8 (which goes for $16 used/$26 new) because you can sell it for more on ebay?

So yeah, secondhand prices are not a solid indicator of a game's quality, especially when comparing games on different consoles (as said before, at this point just being on Gamecube makes a game much more monetarily valuable than being on Wii U), as there's so much more that goes into a game's monetary value beyond its perceived quality, and so it's fallacious to use them as an objective measure of quality.

I am under the impression that Sakurai is toying with us and gonna blow all expectations out of the water. I think September is entirely likely.

I'm in a decent position where I would be fine with any of the runner-ups for a Pokemon newcomer. Decidueye, Lycanroc, Incineroar, Ultra-Beast, Gen III, Steenee, I'll take anyone gladly. That said, I wouldn't be disappointed if we didn't get a newcomer, though if we don't I fully expect one to be DLC. Just my two cents on that matter.

For the Direct, I rather have a general one that shows off some other Nintendo games, hopefully in September or Early October. Namely Metroid Prime 4, since that's one of the Big 5 I've been waiting for, aside from Smash.

Though showing 1 Smash character at the end would be cool.

Well if they follow a similar pattern to last year, we should be getting one around mid september, like last year was on the 13th i think ( or who knows if earlier… they really are releasing info so fast without almost a break of days with 2 nindies directs in one week and now this… there shouldn't be much left at this point other than the actual regular nintendo direct for the regular games they gotta talk about)

Honestly, I can't think of any middle evolutions outside of Ivysaur (and Pika / Jiggs if you count them) who would be more likely than Grovyle

Yea. Grovyle is basically the perfect middle evolution Pokemon that'd be interesting as a playable fighter while also being popular enough for a lot of people to not be "literally who".

Dewott is actually the best middle stage starter Pokemon of all time. this is not an opinion it is objective fact and I am legally allowed to fight anyone who disagrees.
