Man, Wednesday will be great, but at the same time it will be a nightmare for some people, because I'm sure we will get a new massive wave of disconfirmations.

Well, it'd be just getting straight to the point, instead of having to play on long eons of anxiety-induced anticipation.

I just wanna see Sakurai stop dancing around the bush regarding Captain Toad being deconfirmed due the ambiguity of it back in E3 regarding Toad's role in Peach again.

Did Loz claim an August Nintendo Direct or an August Smash Direct? Or just a generic "Direct?"

Just "Direct" He never specified what kind of Direct.

What could they possibly have to show us that warrants an entire Direct for Smash alone? Is it about to be newcomer heaven?

If I recall, Smash 4 had Multiple directs. Bill Trinen himself said that we were only "at the tip of the iceberg" in terms of revealed content.

Oh, I didn't even think about the countless disconfirmations we're going to get on Wednesday. I feel like this is just before you get your exam results handed out to you and nobody knows who passed and who failed. It may be a little past August 1st, but Isaac's my boy and I could totally see him being a mid-way reveal in a Smash Direct or a first reveal (Since he wouldn't be a great candidate for last person revealed cuz he wouldn't generate as much hype in that spot).

I unironically want Metal Mario as a clone character. You know, THE Metal Mario from Smash 64, in all his polygonal glory, with Mario's original moveset properties.

With this game possibly focusing more on adding clones (easy characters) and the feeling that Ultimate could be a celebration of the series as a whole, having a throwback from the first Smash game would be very nice.

Honestly, as much as I want new character reveals, I'm more than content if we don't get any and get new and old modes returning.

I did expect an eventual Smash Direct down the line, but not this early, makes you wonder if we're getting more than just this one. I could see us getting a bunch of shorter ones in between now and release, each of them revealing one newcomer and other than that mostly focusing on modes and other new content.

Still though, me organizing my vacation away from work on early August turned out to be the best timing ever.
