Don't think they are born with these feelings though.

It's more choice.

bisexuality is gay.

Alzi quality post is dumb as expected. Feelings are not made through conscious choice, for example people with depression don't CHOOSE to be depressed, it's actually a lack of endorphins in the brain creating a lack of any positive emotion (in my case at least, idk about meta and other people with other types of depression).

What's everyone's opinion on bisexuality?
Same as my stance on homo/heterosexuality. You just are.

Causes may be multifactorial, but like Scoot said it's just like asking "why do you like this food". Perfect analogy imo.

Alzi needs to stop reading dem gaming forums and head to some intelligent off-topic places to broaden his mind, seriously ._. Or he's the greatest troll on earth.

I dont mean to compare homosexuality to a disease, Please understand that im not trying to stress that anything is wrong in my mind with homosexuality in my mind. This is purely for examples sake for alzi. I have nothing against people of any sexuality. People can do what they want

Alzi, You are essentially stating that people are solely a product of their own environments. While that can be true with regards to certain attitudes whether it be an unhealthy obsession with conservative christian ideas or how everyone reacts whenever you post there have been no conclusive studies to prove that gay people choose to be gay, The best way to find out is to ask a gay person. Nova didnt make a choice to be gay, he just always felt that way. The fact is that you have no basis to say that gay people choose to be gay aside from your own narrow perception of the world. Consider that you are not gay, so how could you possibly understand the thought process of somebody who is?

Do gay people choose to be gay or are they born with it? Can't change the topic since it's arrows thread so we will just wait to see what the next discussion is.
Alzi, we had this conversation before where you had me and Trav on the urge of knocking you senseless, we've explained it

swordsaint i don't think you can be born with somthing in your brain. Your brain basically thinks for yourself meaning you cannot be born with certain thoughts or feelings in your brain.
Alzi, can you be born with heart problems, or down syndrome (Im not referring to gay as a disease btw guys its an example)

It's more choice.

You can't be born wanting to be a guy no it's the persons choice wanting to be a guy.

bisexuality is gay.

The way you are born is actually to do highly with genetics, you failed Health right?

Bisexuality =/= Gay
Get a dictionary =_=

Seriously in this thread just ignore Alzi, especially this topic. Me and Trav had spent about 3 hours discussing it and it won't get through his head.

Also, if any Perth person has an issue with it, I'll be glad to discuss it with them in July.
Nah Nova you won't understand why i said the perth people they know what i am talking about. :p
Just to clarify Alzi is the only homophobic person in our scene and what he meant is that this came up in conversation before and Alzi was nearly physically harmed for his stupid comments.

I'm actually failing to see how people who are bisexual are not gay.
You are gay if you are attracted to the same sex as you, therefore its not mutually exclusive to being attracted to the opposite sex at the same time.
Ergo Bisexuals are gays who are also attracted to their own gender.

Distinguishing between the terms is all about the fact that gays arent interested in members of the other sex.

ergo bisexual = gay whereas gay =/= bisexual

With a title of Sirias discussions on sexuality, I am noticing a lack of Sirias :(

These definitions are so confusing...I always just thought there are three combinations of sexuality based on two options:

Guys
Girls
Guys+Girls.
(secret fourth option of furries!)

Why all this venn diagram stuff lol >

whether or not bisexual = gay doesnt really matter; its just playing with words. it shouldnt have any bearing on any discussion at hand (unless youre debating definitions of words, in which case, you seriously need to get a gf/bf).

i never understood homosexuality/bisexuality, and thus, have actually struggled to come up with a proper opinion for it. its a rather difficult concept. i have contradicting views (namely stemming from my religious upbringing) and cant seem to create a clear distinct line to make any sort of decision on. its hard to comment on at all, really.

I grew up with Christian/Catholic and Muslim religion thrown in my face, and when I came out to my own mother she suggested sexual re-orientation, lol.

I hate people that blindly follow religion; always have and always will. This is because of my upbringing though, and I have no issue with people who believe in whatever because I believe it's there right.

But when people start throwing religious texts and bullshίt in my face, I pretty much switch off and they become dead to me. :/ People can and will disagree but Idc anymore, chances are you just haven't had anything close to the laughable rants/preachings I had growing up (especially muslim sided); there used to be a time when I did but it's looooooong gone. :D

Religion is fine, as long as people keep their noses to themselves and just let people live their own bloody lives. Make no mistake though, I hate religion because it was always used as a scare tactic on me.

BUT! Once I burned a bible and flushed the ashes down the toilet, my mother gave up. I can't even come out to my fathers parents (crazy muslims) because he was scared they'd think I was evil. Of course, next time I see them I'm going to tell them....now that he's passed away. Bwhaha.

So nobody can ever tell me how good religion is because I know how bad (some types) of it are as well.
I don't give a fluck about the good ones. If it makes you happy I'm hardly going to try and stop people from it as it's a belief I have no right questioning, unless it's thrown in my face.
Then I become a ferocious little bίtch. ^_^

Lol, my father himself hated religion, his brothers and sisters didn't, neither did his parents.
Nor do any of my 10 siblings from my fathers side.
My mother was Catholic (no big deal to her, but being gay was AWFUL!), fathers side was kinda half-half.

...They're all mad though.

Be careful not to confuse "Gender" with "Sex".
They are two different things.

Gender is a performative act rather than a definition of what you are biologically. It's like how we conduct ourselves differently in different social situations, the gender we exhibit is also something we adapt to different situations, and helps us dictate what courses of action we take as a result.

Anyway arn't humans made to love woman and arn't they physically made in a certain way to be able to show that love?

What i don't get is when did gay and bisexuality occur? Is there a time when it exactley started?

Alzi your ignorance is astounding.
Homosexuality has been observed in a hell of a lot of animals.

And I recall you saying that the "Americans" started it, lol.
Also I'm part Turkish, you've known that for ages.

you should read and answer more questions directed at you in this thread.

also before people flame no there is not an official date where "gayness" was founded or whatever. People have just always done it. There is no recorded "first gay"

Alzi, I think before you enter a discussion that's meant to be an educated discussion on serious topics, you should research some of these things yourself.

It's fine to have an unpopular opinion, but you shouldn't ask questions like that because all you'll do is rile people up, and this isn't the place to ask questions -> it's the place to discuss topics you have an educated opinion of.

@Rest of you: Move on.

Virtually every animal in the animal kingdom display homosexual relationships. 2 legs, 4 legs, 6 legs, 8 legs, 2 wings, 4 flippers... I really do mean virtually every single species. I helps foster communities and takes care of young in the absence of another partner. It's a selective advantage to have a gay community.

Vyse is spot on with the gender/sex differences <3

And wtf Alzi I won't even bother.

on a serious note, i only recently found out that you can select to 'ignore' certain people's posts, so they dont come up on your screen. i encourage everyone to put alzi's name on that list, and same the unnecessary flames/posts/time.

Lol someone (DJBrowny I think) told me about that ages ago.
I choose not to use it because if I ever used it I'd be too curious when I see people responding to people that don't exist.

And I love everyone. Despite how ragey I come across on here. <3

Edit: And I'd much rather be doing something else rather than on the net Sat night.

@ Shaya - You're right, over 500 species were documented in a study of the New York City Zoo and found that many species can show homosexual tendencies.

@ Alzi - As Ellipsis said we are designed to reproduce with females, love is entirely in your mind. You can love someone who you aren't physically attracted to, which shows the distinct seperation from reproduction which is physical love and from loving someone who you don't want to/can't reproduce with. This in effect proves the ability to be homosexual.

As for my views, I am neutral on the subject. I love gay people, they are incredibly fun to be around and are just generally good people. I myself am not gay but wouldn't have a problem with it if I was or turned out to be in the future. Every guy has their gay side and it comes out occasionally, but most guys are ashamed of it which is stupid.

Attila, do you have any gay friends that can help you to understand them better, or at least to help you form your own opinion?

does shaya count? lololol

yeah i know a couple. its just a difficult thing to comprehend, really. i mean, the bases for homosexuality are pure speculation, and gay people generally wouldnt know why they are the way they are. so i suppose its easier not to think about it, and move on.

im like this in regards to a large number of troublesome topics, btw...

Rage, I'm not your friend Attila? O_O

But seriously, I struggled with this issue myself due to my upbringing, had I not turned out gay myself, I'd probably be homophobic. :/

But if anyone wants to discuss this issue now I'm fine with doing so.
Ever since I got back from overseas I've been 100% secure about; it's like it happened overnight.
I used to be super sensitive over it - as some people here know.

I just accept everyone for how they are now.
Even you, Foulzi. <3

I've said it before, but (and I quote) hating Alzi is like hating a child who doesn't know he's doing anything wrong.

So just be the better man, and don't get angry at Alzi for things he means no harm by.

I was raised in a very Christian family, but also had an influence in openly gay and bi friends growing up. Their sexual preference never bothered me at all, and the most difficult thing to comprehend about the issue for me is why people would consider it "wrong". My parents never told me homosexuality is immoral, my conscience certainly didn't, and there seemed no logical reason to believe so - the only evidence was the word of religious texts. (The more pressing moral conflict to me as a young teenager quickly became the growing set of clashes between my conscience and Bible teachings, and I soon became agnostic.)

Sexual attraction is such an instinctual thing, it seems utterly absurd to tell someone that them being gay is wrong, much like if someone came up to me and told me being attracted to women was immoral. Although come to think of it, some fundamentalists borderline on doing just that...
