Could someone tell me what's the deal with the super jump a character gets sometimes when he is around another character and jumps? It's always been on my mind. Sorry if I'm not explaining it well. I'll try to find a video of an example.

If you footstool someone while they are engaged in another activity you will go flying but they wont go down.

It might be this. It's not a normal footstool because they're not helpless and it almost looks like they don't even touch.
Yeah, I know what you mean. It's definitely a footstool, but DK gets like, a super jump from it haha. It's when you footstool off of the other character's hitboxes. A lot of the time, it doesn't look like you are jumping off of them directly, bc it's in fact that hitboxes that you are footstooling off of- which may or may not be disjointed.

i believe footstools just make you go higher than regular jumps, certainly in dk's case :p
also, im thinking about switching mains from diddy to DK, i already seconded DK, but he's just sooo much more fun :D so i want to learn as much as i can from all the dk's

and will, chair told me you played him at apex, how did you feel about that match? (except for chairs unfortunate SD's :S) since i play chair quite alot, he totally destroys my diddy, but we go "kinda" even if i pick DK

ill see if i can get some matches up for critique :)

Since Ike can pivot grab release infinite Wario...
Can we do that, too?
I was curious about it and could not find it out exactly, our grab is 1-2 frames slower.

2 questions

how do you cancel the lag when you land with the upB?

whats a reverse punch?
you cancel the lag of your upB whenever you end it while being only slightly above the stage/platform you want to land on, and it only really works to around as high as... uhm... dk's knees?

a reverse punch is when you hit the controll stick to the direction you are NOT facing and then press B, you'll punch the other way, you can also press that direction after you press B, (pretty much immediately after) and it will punch the other way while also switching the direction of your movement at that time

whats a reverse punch?

1. land very close to the ground.

2. there are 2 ways to do this actually.

first way is very simple but can only be done in the air.

hit the direction you aren't facing, let go, and then hit B. this is a normal reverse punch

the second way is a little harder but it can be done on the ground or in the air.

you need to press B and then as fast as you can, hit the opposite direction that youre facing.

when you use this in the air it completely reverses you're aerial momentum.

EDIT: NINJA'd

I need to master this...

And I Will!

Btw it's possible to do the lagless Up-B on all stages.

Just recover from a certain distance and landing shouldn't be a problem.

I do not think we can, if memory serves me correctly the Ike infinite is frame perfect

i heard dks broken on japes and luigi's can anyone tell me gimicks dk can do on that stage?
Well on Yoshi's we have out invincible up-b (rofl-copter), plus its a nice small stage with a platform, so we can get in easier. We can camp platform, plus the sides on the stage can prevent you getting spiked if you tech the side.

On JJ, we can do our SA up glitch off of any platform and land lagless all the time. We have three different stage spikes on JJ, all with different timing to tech them. We can survive in the river like no one else can, and we can actually plank in the river, just have to time the ledge grabs to avoid claptraps.

Lol, well i was going to get it, but we are out of time. I told you about the Yoshi thing though, just did not mention JJ.

JJ=Up-b god stage, so many mix-ups. Lol we can even go underneath parts of the stage using the river and our Micheal Phelps swimming ability with up-b.

Yeah, on Smashville though it is kinda hard. You need to run off/have some momentum going off of the ledge in order to land lagless. Cause on most other platforms you can be standing still start up-b then run off the ledge. Here is a sweet vid where it gets used http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mk9xLnagS0o

i dont know if any dk already knew this, but i just found out (for myself at least) that you can pivot while you go offstage to CSS someone without having to turn around, jump, fall down first (so basically its faster so your opponent has less time to break out). you can then stage spike them with dthrow or throw them under smashville (ike and marth come to mind), (havent you all had the problem that with Btoss you had to wait too long because the angle is too high? with Dtoss you can actually instantly dtoss as soon as you leave the stage and it will spike :p (at least on BF, SV and the likes, on FD i believe you have to wait a tad longer
i also tested this on yoshi's island on MK, the cargo dtoss actually combos into a bair O.o its like the perfect angle, this also works on pictochat and pokemon stadium where its basically a ko, imagine, a bair off stage at the percent that dtoss actually stage spikes (dunno the specifics, but its at about 65+%)

at stages like battlefield and smashville, you can footstool them after the stage spike O.o and thats a footstool in the blastzone which is a ko (i dont know if this is actually a combo, but it sure as hell looks like one xD

also, is it even possible to DI the Dtoss? if it isnt, the dtoss->bair on yoshi's is actually a combo starting at percentage where Dtoss actually makes you bounce off the stage

i dunno if this makes sense/already known, but if anyone is interested, ill gladly "try" to make a video of it

EDIT: lol, bair works on FD too :p

from what height are you trying to do it? you could try to ledgejump on battlefield and immediately upB, ledgehop and upB at the peak at your jump, those should land lagless on the platforms
