Uh Goggles, no offense bro but... it... might be closer than you think...

Then again, I don't want to say anything for sure just yet. I figure it's just a matter of you not being able to attend too many tourneys as of late... be it life, lack of interest, or what have you.

... Though I'm sure you can agree with me that more results/data would be nice to have on hand.

On that same note, I learned the Luigi matchup (play gay lol).

Now I just need to actually play this game.

*Dusts off Brawl cover.* *Coughcoughhackwheezecough.* Oh my.

BTW this post up until now has mainly just been an excuse. BAM, if you're reading this, I'm gonna upload the stuff you sent me a week ago overnight. I was waiting to see if you said you had anything more for me but since not, and I don't want to let this go too late, I'll just get it up now. It'll be on Youtube first, then if you need let me know if you need the direct file.

Good night. *Zzzzz.*

@ Kinzer, I turned the entire thing into an engraved plaque. I put that plaque on a wall in front of my desk in my office so I never forget. People said I was mad.... but I say...

...he mad.

@ Storm, I'm going to find something from summer 2009 and make you feel bad about it.

Oh, look at that, Tesh attacks KID with something KID said a while back.

What are the odds.
I have two ways to respond to this development and I'm not sure which to take.

The first is one word: 13th

The second: by KID's logic, X barely plays this game and Tenki was undefeatable back when he was posting.

Kinz: We could probably wifi sometime if you need the practice. I have a tournament in less than a week (second ever, first being back in December), I need practice... prolly more than you do. <.<

Bro, I disconnected the Wi-Fi on my Wii probably a year and a half ago.

I have not looked back since.

Unfortunately for you though that means we really can't play.

(Shameless plug, download Soku)

*Ahem.* When I say "practice," I mean going into training mode and getting my technical inputs down. I've come this far without having needing to do any sort of play outside of tourney/smashfest, and now I've improved my play to a point where my hands cannot keep up with my thought process. I'm sorry if I didn't make that clear a while back.

... and now I'm going to sell myself out to Touhou Labyrinth. Yes, brilliant idea to slow down both my physical and mental states of being with an RPG trololololol.

Nah but no seriously how am I suppose to motivate myself to play a game I don't even like all that much? For anyone who has known me this long it shouldn't come as a surprise that I think Brawl's a poopy game and the only reason I even bother is just for the awesome community... and to some degree, Sonic. I can play Touhou by myself for days on end, but I can't do more than two hours in Brawl with one other person at the absolute most; just to give you an idea of how bad it's gotten for me to inspire myself to get better... for whatevers' sake.

Since Trent is never on MSN anymore, I have to say it here:

Does anyone want to take control of the Video Thread? I simply just don't have time for a ton of the things I used to do anymore, so I need to give it to someone who would be able to keep it consistently updated.

I can still handle the tournament thread since it only takes like, a minute to update, but I'd love it if someone were able to deal with this.

Also, we have too many stickies. Maybe we should whittle down the numbers?

Thats a really stupid question, you know.
Could've had me fooled, being that there also exists people who can play characters they don't like but would rather see success and "lie" to themselves than find (more?) happiness/joy by being true to themselves and playing for themselves.

But if that's really the case, then so be it. I'll make it a challenge to see how long I can live a lie.

Speaking of updates, I'm almost done with High School. Just four more assignments and an exam and Summer vacation here I come.

@ last sentence, i have been complaining about that for months. half of our stickies suck, they arent even useful and should be redone as part of the guide
If nobody else takes the job i'd do it, but i'd rather not iif I can avoid it

k, we can't have frequent visitors of the boards be unable to see entire threads. be a responsible troll.

I wouldn't mind taking over, but I hope I won't screw it up. And yeah, I think we have way too many stickies.

If Trent doesn't answer, I'll be willing to take over the video thread (unless someone else wants to).

And maybe unsticky the Q&A thread? It's not hard to find and post in it.
The only person that kept making new threads for every question was that sagen du smash guy anyway <.<

And I agree with Tesh that some of the old stickies should be redone as part of the Sonic Community Guide.

you see D1aos, this is why im still better than you. you confuse bad things like teshs posting with good things. and it translates into your gameplay.
I can't help myself, I guess I will forever remain subpar. ;~;

Edit: On a more serious note, I wouldn't mind taking over the video thread either.

it would give you a reason to show up more than once a month round here (my namedrops excluded)

@ kinz
playing a game you like with a character you are indifferent about in order to win money is completely different from playing a game you dont even like without real cause and still not winning money.

... You know, now that's just something else in general.

Why does everybody seem to make such a big deal out of "making money" in Smash bros.? I can't help but think people are referring to being a top player, because I can't keep a straight face thinking that there's any money to win with this game from this community in particular.

Even I don't play for the money. That would make this game into a job, one I hate at that; then that would certainly put the nail in the coffin for me.

My original question still stands, BTW.

After watching M2K vs Dabuz and watching him SDI out of Nair to Upsmash (killing the upsmashing pikmin with dair), I don't think that matchup is even close to even. MK is broken.

thats the thing, if you played this game for money, it would be a job you dont like. when other people play the game for the money, its a job they DO like. why is this concept so hard for you to get.

some people just like winning money without having to do something that they dispise, thats why they play video games. some people just like winning and as long as they like the game, theyll use any means they can to win.

you dont like the game, AND you dont win at it, so i really dont see any reason for you to continue playing. thats like volunteering to work at a school for free, when you hate kids.

In this world you've got to be strong
You've got to fight to keep your spirit alive
And you might feel like there is
nothing left to go for and fight for
But it's the fight that keeps us ready and on guard

Even I can feel feel the power
When I think of him
I see no fear, feel no pain

Forever he will be my hero
(Better believe he knows the way)
And not just only for tonight

And now that I'm not just a dreamer
(And I know I got what he's got)
And not just only for tonight

Man, I was a Sonic main again for like 2 hours last week.

Had the most serious Air-to-Ground Side-B Edge-guarding and pseudo-tech chase game you've never seen in your life.

Then I used PT again and remembered my vow to be the very best. Gotta rep Gary Oak Green PT for life.

* The Nintendo 3DS version is being co-developed by Sonic Team and Dimps.
* The director of the 3DS version is Tetsu Katano, who directed Sonic and the Black Knight.
* 2D side-scrolling gameplay for both Classic Sonic and Modern Sonic.
* Momentum based gameplay and platforming are fully featured in the Classic Sonic gameplay.
* Modern Sonic plays a lot like the Sonic Rush games and Nintendo DS version of Sonic Colours.
* Nintendo 3DS version will have exclusive stages and boss stages.
* Green Hill Zone will be the only shared stage across all versions.
* Casino Night Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is confirmed for the Nintendo 3DS version.
* Story has some differences between the console and Nintendo 3DS versions, but will be fundamentally the same.
* Console version will have many characters, but the Nintendo 3DS version will only feature the ones who are integral to the story.
* There is no Wii version. Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka says this is because “The primary goal for the console versions of Generations was reimagining the series’s classic zones in vivid, high-definition graphics.”
* Sonic the Hedgehog 3‘s Launch Base Zone Big Arm boss fight is in the game, which suggests that stage is also in the game.
* Classic Eggman appears in the above mentioned boss.
* Exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS version are challenges that you can unlock via StreetPass or Play Coins.
* The game also features an exclusive two-player race mode via local wireless connection.
* Modern Sonic stages take advantage of the 3D feature more than the Classic Sonic stages. An example shown and detailed is a part in the Green Hill Zone where Modern Sonic smashes through the bottom of a giant totem pole. The camera then moves to the front of Sonic and lets you see the rest of the pole collapse behind Sonic as he escapes.
* The 3D depth is also highlighted when Modern Sonic occasionally moves between the foreground and the background.
* Jun Senoue and his music team are working on the music for the game.
* Nintendo Power thinks the handful of tracks they’ve heard so far are “fantastic”.
* Special Stages are confirmed and are designed in Sonic Heroes style. As expected, you earn Chaos Emeralds from these stages. Whether or not Super Sonic will be your reward for earning all Chaos Emeralds is unclear right now.
I need a 3DS now.

God, that sounds so good. But they will likely show off a steaming pile of dung at E3 like they always do.

3DS version should have Sonic Rush style special stages though. They are basically a much better version of Sonic Heroes special stages, but I guess they can't do anything about that for the Console versions.

Here we go, lots of hype then we see something pretty with 0 difficulty, 0 obstables and 0 enemies.

Meh i would've prefered they just used a SA based formula for modern sonic. It would've been amazing to run around a 3D space on a handheld with sonic at high speed(ah the good old SA days) But none the less i'm happy it won't just be a boost fest but not a boost fest with actual platforming. I'm definitely picking this game up day one. But apart of me is still hoping for a surprise Sonic Adventure 3 to be announced for wii to arrive this holiday before sonic generations. The wii needs something big and nice for sonic's 20th.....mario and sonic doesn't count in my eyes. unless sega announces SA3 for nintendo's new console of course then i'll let the the wii not getting anything slide. :p

I like both styles equally which is why I actually liked Sonic Unleashed since they had those platformy like stages along with speed runs lol. Though they definitely need a SA3 they are showing no love to any of the other cast of characters in the sonic series. They definitely need an adventure series with all the characters being playable.

Hey I was thinking.............we should all make a new community combo video.
I'd stop being immature and actually include fair amounts of clips to everyone (and not overload it with myself and espy again) and actually give goggles real clips if we make another. But that'd mean I'd close it off to people who don't frequent the boards, because that was the problem last time- too many clips from randoms (and of me. Rofl).
I'll post up an example of my newly acquired combo video editing skills if there are any doubts.

Count me in. There'll be vids from Genesis 2 as well if I get those recorded.
