If I ever used a texture besides regular sonic and regular sonic with black wristbands, if you look up my matches with rayku and take that black texture, make it sonic instead of shadow, and gave it goggles. I would never play anything else.

how does he do against the mid tier cast?

Sonic doesn't have any hugely advantageous or disadvantageous matchups. Ness, bowser, DK, and PT are some of Sonic's easier matchups in mid-tier. some of his worse matchups in mid-tier are Wolf, Peach, and to a lesser extent (in my opinion) Fox. Luigi and Shiek are fairly close matchups.

Sonic has a difficult time vs. Peach and Luigi, but that's about it.
And even so, Luigi's just a soft counter, at best.

Kirby might be a problem too, but only on the same level that Luigi is on.

Peach is really the only match-up problem you'd have in mid-tier events. Sonic 5:5's everyone else in mid-tier except Sheik, who he has a slight advantage.

possibly wolf too. but I havent played a quality wolf since my games with JJ wolf like a year ago, so i cant be certain on that.

Maybe a slight advantage just because of Wolf's abysmal recovery.

Toon Link is a pain in the ***, but I don't really see him as a hard counter to Sonic.
More like a "Peach-level"'d complication.

I shook from the third boss fight in that video. I never expected a boss fight like that. And then there was the 4th fight, with Sonic going soooo fast, much faster than what the original gameplay footage showed. Hype.

So, um, I might be talking about something that's already been discussed before, but here goes:

Regarding Infzy's Momentum canceling vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njcYW0rFmUg , I decided to test this with Sonic a bit more. Here's what I got.

When using SD (side B) as Sonic, keep in mind that that small "pull back" the move has before you're sent forward can kill you.

I used a similar setup as shown on this vid, but used Falcon Punches to test the horizontal range.

Results: survival @ (no DI): 112% w/ SD and 115% w/ SC (down+B).

Vertically (using Luigi's Shoryuken) the SD hop didn't seem to affect anything at all and the test provided similar results: survival @ (fastfalled fair, no DI): 98% w/ SD and 101% w/ SC.

It may not look much, but to get these you'll have to be near frame-perfect (heck, the % might even be higher as I'm not using a turbo controller, thus the aerial might not have come out ASAP - I did do this with 1/4 speed though).

So, what I'm trying to say is this: in an actual battle, the ranges vary much more, thus you're better off cancelling with SC instead of SD.

HOWEVER, with SD you don't have to be aware of any timings when releasing the move, whereas when using SC, you have to release it right after 1 charge.

If what I've tested was already pointed out then nevermind this xD

One thing's been bugging me about the adaptation:

Shadow's the one who grows the most by the end of SA2. This makes me think he should be the main character of the adaptation, but I really love Sonic infinitely more than Shadow.

I basically have to come up with a way to combine the Hero and Dark sides of the story.

Who doesn't love Sonic infinately more than shadow? BTW, Sonic wins the fight they have at the end of the hero/dark story, because if he didn't, I'm pretty sure shadow would have killed him.
