I loved both KHs and I have to say that I definetly had more fun in the second game.

Also for the most part, I think KH2 is better in all aspects. MP bar is handled very well, I like how they changed it. New worlds were awesome, like Pride Rock and Space Paranoids. Oh god I love Space Paranoids if not only for the music. There's also Timeless river which was awesome. Lots of new kind of boss battle too that were very different. The Hydra in the beginning, that Wind Dragon in China, the gigantic animal in Pride Rock that you had to ride on, and Jafat the genie. Different forms was cool. One gigantic thing that they did was add the triangle button as such a useful thing. I really likes that change. Summons were better done as well as limits. Plotwise I feel that the second one is definetly more interesting because of Organization XIII. Sora's motivation is also more responsible than in KH1. In KH1 Sora mostly just wants to find Kairi and Riku. He helped out against the collection of villains in KH1 since it served his purpose. In KHII he goes searching for Riku becase he feels guilty about leaving him on the other side of the door. And then in the second half of the game he's after
Organization XIII cause the success in their plans is due to him killing soanu heartless so he wanted to clean up the mess he made.

Also gummi ships were done so much better.

The one thing that KH1 does better is difficulty. Only very few bosses are much of a threat in the second one. Easily for me the most difficult one was the Organizarion XIII member. with the wind spears at Beast's castle. I find that because the enemies in KHII aren't weaker than those in KH1, it's that Sora is so broken. Great spells, limits, and summons. And than he combos sooooooooo well. His mobility is also a lot better. In comparison to the sequel, KH1 Sora is so much weaker.

Yeah

Other favorite games are three Smash games, all the core Pokemon games, Kirby games, etc. Mostly Nintendowise with KH and I guess Sly Cooper thrown in there too.

You can't disagree with that lol. I didn't say it was a better game, just that I enjoyed it more. The organization was what made the series for me, and the story appealed to me more. I didn't like how the first one was entirely centered around Disney. The inclusion of the organization, and how it affected the story line, was the reason I liked Kingdom Hearts. So I liked the series for different reasons than you did.

OK yes, the Organization is cool, but it still can't compete with KH's touching, heartfelt story of friendship and the power of light!

And I pause this futile argument to bring you news: OLI BOARDS, I HAVE MADE A PIKMIN DISCOVERY! Though it probably doesn't have any actual use  It has to do with pikmin dash speed, ledge grabbing, and the different pikmin animations, and while I haven't totally figured it out and there are still a lot of things I don't understand, I am sure about a couple things.

Ok, so in Brawl you can dash off the ledge and hold back towards the stage to grab the ledge, right? Apparently this little feature can screw with the order of Olimar's line, and I think it has to do with pikmin having different animations for their dashes. Here's the most consistent results I can get, and the one I'm most sure about:

1. Have five to six pikmin in your line, and have a purple at the end of your line.
2. Position yourself close to a grab-able ledge (I've only tried this on FD but I'm guessing it'd work anywhere). Close means about the distance of Oli's hyphen smash (this is approximate)
3. Initiate a dash off of the stage/platform and press backwards to hug the ledge
4. Do a normal getup (no attack) as soon as possible.

The purple pikmin that was at the end of your line is now at the very front :) What I think happens is that the pikmin enters it's dash-following animation just as you grab onto the ledge, and before it can grab the ledge you're already off of it; because of this, it just falls off the edge and goes into the jumping animation (and if you jump off the ledge instead it goes immediately into your line). All of the other pikmin have to let go of the ledge, so the one pikmin that doesn't is then considered the first in your line. The reason this is most consistent with purples is because they have a weird dash-following animation; they can run just as fast as the rest of them, but they begin dashing later than all the other colors, even though they receive the signal to do so at the same time. It's hard to explain :/ Just look for yourself; go to one side of FD, get a full line with one or two purples, and start dashing. All of the other colors are equally spaced but purples are always a bit behind where they should be, and then catch up to that spot as you run further. You can also see if you have a purple at the end of a line; flick the stick to get Oli to do a short dash and watch the pikmin run; purple's will always mess up the timing and be a little late.

Like I said, this is the only result I can recreate every time, but there are many others. For instance, you can get the same thing to happen with the last two in line instead of just one, or even the last three. Different actions seem to have different results; getup attack has gotten the effect with more pikmin more often, and jumping seems to work the least often with anything other than purple. Pikmin facing away from the edge act different than pikmin facing outwards. Even if the last pikmin does grab the ledge and doesn't end up first, the rest of your line can still get scrambled up. There's obviously a lot of different variables here  Probably the most notable thing is just knowing purples dash later than the others, but even that doesn't seem particularly useful. Still, I found it and I figured why not share :)

And if you're wondering why I even noticed this, it's because I was trying to figure out if there really is anything different about flower pikmin :chuckle: And sorry if this post seems really jumbled lol, I was kind of throwing things in as I found them

TL;DR: Purples are lazy bas**** that take forever to start running and like to cut in line

EDIT: @Noa: I both agree and disagree with you on some points, but my fingers are too worn out to type another paragraph lol

You should definitely change the title back though :3 And if not back then something with the same meaning!

Hmmmm. I suppose that when you leave the ledge you have no pikmin in your line, and they come back in order of which gets there first. I wonder if while pikmin are leaving the ledge, if they are vulnerable for a second while they get back in line.

That's right Hilt. >:)

When you leave the ledge, it takes a moment for pikmin to leave the "Ledge State". When you leave the ledge, pikmin that are traveling to you enter your line first, while the pikmin that were in the ledge state have to leave your line, leave the ledge state, and then travel back to you. I'd go on more but I'm on the phone atm.

I disagree with this title >:( But I figured it had to do with the different states and having to let go of the ledge. Still, I wonder why purple pikmin react so late when they get the signal to start dashing  Seems like a pretty random thing to put in, and even if they're at the front of the line they still remain close enough to be used for attacks.

@Fino: Nah, it was Dotcom, Hilt beat you to it

Geddan, no, why!? Don't you dare say you're going to team Metagay

Also, ATTENTION EVERYONE. I've just made a thread, and if the information inside of it is new like I think it is, it means good news for Olimar :) Go check it out.

I've only played KH2 for a couple hours (because I bought it at the same time as KH1, assuming I would like KH1), but I played KH1 all the way through and it was CRAP.
I kept playing in hopes that it would get better, but all you do in the whole game is mash the X button. Halfway through the game I literally closed my eyes, set the controller down, and mashed X with one finger. And it worked just as well as when I was actually trying.

Any game you can play with your eyes closed is a ****ty game, so KH2 is probably better

I think Hilt agreed to take care of it :) And I realized this morning - WE FORGOT JULES!

Kh2 is wayyyyyy better
Yous a liar.

KH1 is better.

Also, wtf. So many Olimars in my region and I haven't played any since like Hilt last year. :(
I like you.

And if it makes you feel better I only started getting serious about smash in about January, when I was still in Philly, and I just went to my first tourney about a month ago. Don't worry, we shall meet soon, I'm gonna try to come to Athens for the tourney in August :)

Maybe that could work for general battles, but it most certainly would not work for the bosses. You had to be on your guard if you wanted to keep yourself alive. KHII, you literally can mash X through EVERY battle, and occasionally press triangle.

Lol yea that got old too

So without further ado, it's

\-=THE OLIMAR SOCIAL QUESTION OF THE DAY!=-/

:olimar:If you had to become a video game character, who would it be, and why?:olimar:

This is my attempt to find a question that Hilt has not been asked :)

And in case you thought I forgot, IT'S TIME TO ANNOUNCE THE WINNER OF YESTERDAY'S BONUS QUESTION CHALLENGE! There were a lot of great entrants, and considering all the salt that SPC has (make that Leaf) there was a lot to work with, but in the end, the victor

was

FINO! For the most original reply, you win this:

THE OLIMAR SOCIAL QUESTION GOLDEN PIKMIN AWARD!

While this may seem to just be a photoshopped image of a yellow pikmin, it is in actuality the rarest and most valuable breed of Pikmin. They are made from solid gold, yet somehow still able to retain mobility. If ever pulled in Brawl, they cannot be killed and, when thrown, they follow the same trajectory as Purple pikmin and have as much knockback as a sweet spotted Falcon knee. However, this is a special, commemorative Pikmin, and is therefore peaceful. Congratulations!

And so what if it was a photo shopped yellow pikmin. What did you expect?

OH ****!
We also forgot Zori, Geddan, Turaz, and Kirbyoshi!
And God himself intervened to force me to omit Vocal!

Shocking plot developments, to be sure.
I'll send it to Hilt after I finally get some sleep.

Also, I like this name. ^_^

Maybe the sour spotted knee lol

Also I said I'd make the thread if nobody else wanted to lol I'm fine with doing it but it'd probably be better if someone else (Coud, Fino, etc) did it. But I will if you all want me to lol

Lol @ you still not having any sleep

And we did not forget Geddan, you just missed him! The others....maybe. And don't you dare omit me! I cannot be blamed for what the question of the day may contain ;) And yes, your new name is nice, though I'm unsure yet whether I want to call you Clover or Leaf..hmmm....

You....... forgot.... me!?
....maybe...sorry, there was a lot to keep track of ^v^;

Yessir, too bad Sakurai had their pluck percentage changed to zero before the games release. Data's still on there though :)

my amazing misreading skills came through for me again LOL
Lol I'll say, Hilt too from the looks of it

Random thought: judging from Fino's suggestion for the QOTD, I guessing it's a safe bet that he's NOT king of his domain :chuckle:

Other random thought: I'm not sure how I feel about your new avvy yet Noa, it's nice but I'm used to thinking of that stern black and white face when I see your name lol
