I enjoyed the beginning quite a bit. It's definitely something unique and different from what I usually listen too. Not often you hear a song with quite a positive beat going with it. It also feels like it has a bit of an old school vibe...and when I mean old school, I feel like I'm in a mix of a jazz club and a rock concert. It meshes really well together, and I think the true beauty of the song rests in the instrumentals. The voice itself is nothing special, but I can definitely tell there is a meaning hidden among those words.

just gorgeous! simple song but very poignant and inspiring to listen to. the weird shift the song takes halfway through with the chopped up drums is pretty cool...but, i don't like this second half as much as i liked the first part. i sit wishing that this section was kept to a separate song. the first 2 minutes of the song seemed to building towards something very different than this, and sometimes that's not a bad thing, but here it doesn't work for me.

so it's a decent song that could have been amazing

6.5 b/c i didnt love it but i can respect what it is. that was some crazy guitar in there

about the last song i posted i forgot to say it is from their most recent ep called canter on and if u like the song look it up, support smaller bands trying to make it :)

Now one more from the same band, this is from their first album so its older and doesnt represent what they sound like as much as the last song but i still did it.

note: this song was based on a true story about two guys who taunted a tiger at a zoo the tiger got out hours later and hunted down the people who taunted her, so do as the song title tells u :)

You linked to a song called "Pod Fodder 58", and I can't find the song you're talking about so I'm reviewing this one.

Cool beginning with the guitar and bassdrum. Vocals are not that great. reminds me of Sonic Youth, but not as good.

actually, the vocals are pretty dang annoying..they get more annoying as the song goes on. This song is kinda meandering overall. I like the style of instrumentation and the beat of the song though. but it doesn't go anywhere and doesn't make me feel any kind of emotion.

Nice and simple, and I like the flow. Vocals are very nicely done, the backing harmonies at times are just low enough in the mix to give it a very interesting feel.

The beginning has this pecular rhythm that has my head tilting side to side in a smooth motion. I'm not a fan of these kinda vocals though, but at least he's easier to understand compared to others. With that being said, I sort of get the sense of what he's singing about and it's pretty cool.

I was also digging up those back up echoey "ghost like" vocals in the background. It definitely adds to the title, the lyrics, and overall theme of the song. I also would be bias to say I prefer the singing of the back up guy over the main one lol. Overall, I think everything fits really well together. It's not my music, but I can see it being a catchy tune.

Haha, wow that was so... man, that brought me back a little bit. Isn't that a cover of a Billy Joel song?
Not remembering what the original sounds like, that was pretty... quintessentially poppy. I can't realy find the right words to describe it. It was very basic, in all aspects. Not... poor, I guess, just no very interesting. It's like the kind of song that would be written once someone just discovers sex.

A very beautiful girl, that singer :o. I also liked her dress :).
I kind of dislike the general "hey - ho" part in the song, it feels like it was just thrown in to fill the void there, except at the end.
I really liked the intro, it was probably my favourite part of the video, very interesting with the clapping and the acapella. As far as lyrics go, the song didn't speak to me at all lol.
But the song was smooooth

Quick personal: I only love this for the lyrics, the music is absolutely atrocious and I can't believe The Doors made it. Generic 70's crappy music. At least Jim's poetry salvaged the song and is the main focus.

Of course The Doors are capable of much more.
As you said the music is bad, and it didn't work well with the lyrics.
My favorite line is "Do you know we are ruled by T.V.?".
I just can't get into the song with that music.

Intro is pretty cool. Love the drums. This is a personal pet peeve, but I HATE that watery guitar tone that is so prominent in music of this era. It's probably my least favorite guitar sound ever.

So, things pick up when the distortion comes in.

pretty decent song overall. vocals are a mixed back. sometimes they're cool, sometimes I don't like em.

love how the intro comes back in to lead into the solo.

This song played on Fuse once a couple years back and I had regretted forgetting the name of it, thanks for bringing it back to being stuck in my head XD. Love the lyrics, and I especially love how he gives a whole story and setting before the song even starts, it really is a pleasant combination.

I hate hate hate this band, but I will try to keep my biases out of this.

Off to a good start. Makes me think of Kingdom Hearts lol.

the "heavy" part is lame as expected. synths aside, the instrumental aspect of this song is really boring.

So, mostly, I really like the Bear sections but the rest of it is mehh.

the ending is cool! with the piano and the chugs. still though...

pretty catchy, until the kind of gracelessly sung chorus. I dig the "surfy" kind of ambient feel, but not really something I could put on repeat

also, lol at total hate still garnering a 3/10 ;)

about the 3/10, like i dont give 10/10 but i dont think i would really give anything less then a 3 ether b/c i feel like nothing could be that bad to get under a 3. but maybe u r right i should of given it a 2 so i am going to change that

now for your song and score.
5/10: i didnt love it b/c i felt it didnt really go anywhere. on the other hand i didnt hate it and it reminding me of yo la tengo, who maybe u should check out.

in fact here is some yo la tengo. (the song i picked was just kinda random off the one album of theres i have.) (i do plan on getting some other albums sooner or later so its not like i dislike them)

I love the intro. The bass part is pretty addictive, and the guitars just seemed to help the atmosphere. The vocals, when they come in, are OK, though I really don't like it when one of the singers tries to sustain falsetto while holding the notes. I really like the call-and-response part with the vocals around the middle part. The piano break is a bit offsetting, and it really seems to clash with the music. I also have no idea what they're singing about

Overall, though, it's a solid song. 7/10

Dark Horse, that is a good way to kill this thread, posting 10 minute songs lol. You're lucky 10 minutes isn't that long a song to me these days!

Beginning reminds me of Jethro Tull.

Love the drumming.

The organs are neat. I like the "chorus" I guess you call it.

Around 3 minutes I'm starting to get bored though. I'm disappointed that they decided to just go back to the verse/chorus again.

Flute and bass solo is wonderful. Again reminds me of Jethro Tull. Last verse here is pretty decent.

The end is funny lol. Silly keyboards.

overall, very listenable and interesting but it didn't really blow me away. The instrumental interludes are the best part. The verses are boringgg.

I enjoy the bass line to this song, its pretty catchy. I don't think I will ever enjoy this singer's voice though :/, I just can't get into it. Guitars are nothing special, mostly because they're done to fit the slow, tribal feeling of the song.

That was a pretty fun song. I don't mind the Japanese, but I don't like the guy's singing voice. reminds me of all those terrible butt rock songs from the Sonic Adventure games. Instrumentally it's lots of fun and I like the "heavier" parts quite a bit.

LOVE that opening riff, great guitar and drumming, just excellent musicianship on all fronts. The singer could be better imo, but his sound doesn't clash with the music, so i'm okay with it. I don't listen to music like this enough, going to have to look into some of these guys' stuff!

Haha, that was fun. Right when it started I wanted to slap on a headband and shorts too short and work out. The kind of guttoral interjections would seem ridiculous if I was taking the song too seriously but really they're kind of arbitrarily brilliant

Pretty decent rendition of Immigrant Song. I like how the vocals are less emphasized. Nobody can sing that intro like Robert Plant so it's good to not even attempt to one-up him there. The rest of it is just alright to me though. I like Trent's music a lot, especially his soundtrack work but this one is not a standout imo. This song was good for the movie trailer but I wouldn't listen to it by itself.

4/10 well it was interesting but its not something i can get into. I kinda am against most music that is (i dont want to say grating but i cant think of the right word), like i cant just put on my headphones and have this as background music where i could chill or anything, i feel it penetrates to strongly and that I find is a major issue. that and the disconnected beat (also something i am not sure how to explain) but its just not something i could find myself ever digging.

now for a band i very much like doing a school house rock cover so what could be bad :)

it's considerate of others to not post 15 minute songs. nobody is going to want to listen to that and thus you are killing the thread.

good thing you have me:

good intro, i like the acoustic bit with the soloing about a minute in.

ya ya, typical metal riffs. solid but nothing is standing out.

the clean guitar interludes are nice. these parts are the best. when it goes back to the typical metal scales it's kinda boring.

vocals completely killed any positive feelings I had for this song. now this just sounds like a metal cover of a Rush song, or maybe a Dream Theater song.

the solo after the first verse is okay. kind of impressive but it doesn't sound that great.

after the second verse..I'm getting pretty sick of that triad pattern on the guitar that keeps coming back.

the quiet interlude sounds nice. don't like the lead guitar's tone with the chorus effect.

more embarrassing vocals. I wish this song ended 5 minutes ago.

the riff to come back in from the quiet interlude is pretty awesome though. Then it goes back into that triad pattern with some variations and it's all very eh.

Definitely wasn't worth the time to my ears. I can appreciate the tightness of the instruments and the composition, buuut those vocals make me want to kill myself. I would say I would like to hear an instrumental version, but honestly the instrumental aspect isn't that exciting or interesting.

Well, trying to listen through the glassy static I found kind of a pleasantly droney little medley. The cuts in and out from min. 1 to 2 were really the only dynamic with any significance. I just... I mean I can't hate on someone's style choice I guess but I just do not enjoy the apparently intentional and perpetual drowning out that the whole song used.

I liked where the riff was going, but the overall song just turned out boring to me. The bass is the only thing that really stands out, the guitars are just playing simple notes and simple chords. The singer isn't bad, but since he's mixed in with the instruments instead of over them, he fails to stand out amidst the boring.

I really did not feel it while I was listening to this song, the song kind of feels like it just drags on, the melody did not seem to change much thoughtout the song and that's not really a good thing for a song this long, I liked the atmosphere but that about the only thing I liked about this song.

Ok, here's my song, Dream Chasers by Future World Music
The french horn is the most epic instrument (see any lord of the rings composition) and it remains consistent in this song, the french horn holding the melody for the most of the song was great. It was a very epic song, and I would love to hear this done by a metal band too.
