The PR wasn't my goal, it was to see how it is all run and the inside workings of the tournaments and the people etc. Like what goes into the PR, and how tournaments are organised.

If anything I wanted more so to be on the panel more than the actual ranking. However I did set a goal of making it on without using S or A tier.

Jaice has been contemplating not playing smash competitively for months. I think he lost the most interest when he couldn't get a chance at playing Chris and was dismissed immediately, when all he had done was get as good as he did to beat him. We have practiced once in the last 3 months. Since about SP3 we have been playing everything but smash. But you would have to ask him if he is really going to give it up.

There'll be new goals to shoot for next year Matt. I hope to introduce an ELO rating system which somebody like yourself or Jaice I hope may be interested in helping me maintain. It would be an extremely objective way of ranking everyone based on performance.

I'll stay on the boards Vyse, so PM me info as it happens and I'll have a look at things. I came up with some new tournament concepts and a more versitile tournament set-up which allows players to face up against almost everyone who has entered the competition. Allowing more of a gauge of player level and experience, but as it happens it would take an extra 1-2 hours to run it depending on entrants. Alterations can be made to shorten it though. It's very performance based and works on a tiered pool system.

Also ratio based ranking would be involved, which is a more simplified, but accurate way of gauging skill. I might trial it at a casual get together or something and I'll send you the workings. As for interest in it, I was thinking of creating a scene outside of the regular community from groups of players I know are keen but haven't stepped out to join competitive play, and the old crew I used to smash with. I need something vastly different to get the motivation back.

Jaice might be interested though, so PM him the info too. I know Tiahn will probably still want to play, if only to talk to everyone, and yell and scream for reasons that almost make it legitimate lol.

Jbirds, Rocko and I hardly ever play smash, we just played last night since the last tourney and I doubt we'll be playing again til the next tourney. I've lost interest in smash a long time ago, only thing that kept me going was new competition, (you 2 + 2 dorfs) I know that Chris leaving was a huge blow I'm pretty bummed too, it's just not the same without him I guess. But if jaice can't beat Toki or Me, he'd have no chance against chris =P

Anyways, see how the scene goes, if enough people leave, I might leave as well and try get pro at SSF4 >_>

Understandable everyone loses interest.
However if you enjoy the community you should still stick around, if still enjoy playing even if its just on a casually competitive level you should come to stuff. Even if you're still interested about the happenings of smash in qld stay on the boards. Just give it some time and if you enjoy smash stay if you dont go.. simple as that. Who knows after being out for a while you might want to make a return.

Guys this year is going to be beast. Today I plan to hand Gametraders a 14 page proposal outlining what I want for this year.

With any luck we'll have a fully paid for venue once a month.

We all can only put in to smash as much as life lets us. I know I sure as hell can't put in as much as when I first started. But I'll keep putting in what I can if you guys keep turning up. Not to mention, when I get my house in sunnybank, ya'll better come over.

EDIT: I haven't talked about this much just yet because it's still in planning, but I plan to reveal all very soon.

The game is still good to play, and I enjoy it, however every tournament I go to now I have everyone (not just one person, but everyone) change to MK on me (Tiahn was the only person who didn't). Even if they don't play MK, just to nab a win. The thing I like least about the game is MK's existence. Also opinions and points of view become stifled and walked over by particular members in the community. If anything the community and some of the people in it is the bit that bothers me the most. Aswell as MK

When it comes down to it, I like sitting around playing against mates etc, more than I like going to tournaments. I like organising meets and mock competitions at mine more than I like going to tournaments. Just a matter of pros and cons really.

In regards to MK from what i understand the only person who switched to MK (that doesnt main him) on you was Oldman and you beat him anyway You play Fox, pocket MK's shouldnt stand a chance.
Also if you cant beat em.... join em. MK dittos are the future (Y)

I understand trolling etc, and I went straight low tiers with Jaice and Tiahn last night and it rocked. However that's not a tournament.

D3 dittos are considered the most ******** dittos out of the whole cast. Infinite balls on edges, platforms, walls, walking and gay slowness in the air makes for a fail ditto.

QLD so bad. Matt. I have been in this show biz since May 09 and I've only only started improving in the past few months. It sucks when there is no one to compete with locally... Need to move to Brisvegas again, sigh..

As far as MK goes, play Bowser. Best MK cp evar lolololol. But seriously, once you got that match up down and beat pocket MK players consistantly, they'll die down or at least re-consider sending him out. QLD MK's suck anyway. (Despite me losing to a couple on occasions, lolfail.)

Anyway I think you should give the next 6months a chance and see if your changes happen to your expectations or liking. As Vyse said, We might have a fully paid venue (and with that come more prizes) so chin up, circumstances may change for the better.
