I've got school on Saturdays so I'll be missing the first half of the stream that day in BH3.

I'll get back in time for the Roy streaming though.

So if I'm reading this right

UMSmash will have PM Pools at 11am on Saturday

Both streams will have PM Bracket at 11am on Sunday, then

UMSmash will do a Roy thing at 2pm on Sunday.

Now, in the video it says that UMSmash will have Melee pools (round 2) at 8pm on Saturday, which VGBootcamp is also doing. Is this a typo that should be PM pools round 2 or is there no 2nd round of PM pools?

Also something about Roy gameplay on VGBootcamp at 4pm on Saturday and Sunday... whatever that means.

i have a question:

how come samus is difficult to code because of her link to ZSS, but Zelda and shiek aren't?

EDIT: and even the pokemon too (ivy, squirtle, zard)

Perhaps it's due to how her transformation isn't a down B or something. PMBR guys, will your light bring us knowledge ?

On another note, is it possible to freeze Orpheon on the second transformation ? I'm guessing there would be problems because of how there aren't spawn points there, but hey. It's worth a try (we need moar metroid legal stages !)

The transformation isn't the reason Samus is difficult - Her character not playing nice with our engine, along with her miniscule maximum file size is the cause for issues.

And when we release her, we want to make sure the character is right. Trust me, you wouldn't have wanted us to just throw Samus into some 2.x release. She has a very particular feel that is important.

In short, technical difficulty. The same reason basically all unreleased characters aren't out. They're more time consuming, but they'll be worth it in the end.

I'm beginning to think that should be your new motto. Instead of "everything is subject to change" it should "Samus isn't finished because coding her is difficult".

I feel like that would answer 90% of new players questions.

I'm happy to hear that somehow :D

Speaking of limited file space, wouldn't the clone engine allow you to go past this limit if you don't plan on having seven clones ?
Just an idea I'm pretty sure you already had, but eh.

Go check out Calabrel's 2.6 build in the Customized Content section. It includes a 2nd-stage Orpheon, sans moving platform.

Samus' space issue is manageable, we just need to be extra careful with how we approach her design. She needs to be cleaned up more often, but even with limited space, she'll have quite a lot of cool stuff going on for her. If anything, the NES and SNES shows how sometimes, working within limits can be conducive to great innovations. I think that is what we are accomplishing with Samus.

Looks like there was some miscommunication.
The ONLY time Roy gameplay will be streamed is Day 2 at 4, and it will only be on VGBootCamp.

There is no Round 2 of PM pools. Presumably we'd be doing Doubles and Singles bracket at that time.

I won't be able to watch any of the BH3 streams because I'll be at work all weekend, sad face.

On a completely separate note, that Wombo Combo T-shirt is pretty sweet, the sweater is just so much more amazing. Can't wait to get it in the mail

i have a feeling samus is going to be truly a revolutionary addition to PM. with all this work being pored into her, she'll have a beautiful design that'll put others to shame. thank you PMBR for putting so much attention into my favorite character. I know she'll be awesome when released

Ohhh, I see Gunblaze. That's because you guys really are mah bros.

@MVP: We're quite aware that Samus is a popular character, and so we really want to give her all of the love she deserves. You needn't worry my friend.

I'm looking forward to how this design works out, with Project M favoring offense slightly I imagine Samus's old keepaway zoning will be reworked to be more flavorful overall.

You know the rest of the cast is ****ed up when a brand new character not even in the game is revealed first.

I forgot how amazing this thread is.
I also forgot how amazing Roy was, and I'm very glad Fire could be coded despite it being... you know... TOO amazing.

In other news, I posted this elsewhere but...

As Charizard on Dracula's Castle in Doubles, this stupid thing happened.
I D-Smashed > WL D-Smashed on a platform, and WL D-Smashed on a 3rd platform.
This hit BOTH opponents on the first 2, and 1 on the 3rd...
I felt silly. Sure they could have teched AWAY from each other on the mid-platform... but I felt very silly.

My bro grabbed Charizard for the first time in a long time a few days later, and I told him to WL-D-Smash when tech-chasing on platforms... because it's too good not to do and he'll probably get it if he tried.
Sure enough, off the next attack (a Jab vs a Wolf), he hit 3 in a row, rising up Rumble Falls (HUGE STAGE WTF) and killed him off the top at the end.
It was silly to watch...

For Social purposes, I think this (auto-rising D-smash chains Marth WL Grab style, but not as cool) is the silliest thing in the game. Legit, bad***, but silly.

Question:
What is the silliest thing in the game?

Question 2:
What is your favorite SOUND in the game?

Locals answers:
The sound of Falcon dying.
Luigi shouting while slapping someone.
*random quotes like Happy Feet and Stack it Up.
The sound 'Charging a Smash' makes.
When Peach says 'Sweet'

Edit: Shouting Trouser Snake when a Lucas hit someone with Zair.
Shouting Magic Hands when someone grabs the ledge from what looks like WAY TOO FAR AWAY.

Bamesy, you need to have played 2.5 Charizard, as the current d-smash he has now is being generous. It was probably one of the best moves in the game, in my eyes.

Just because it was sillier then (yeah, I played and faced him more than enough in 2.5 haha), doesn't mean it's not silly anymore.
I'm not talking about the move itself, so much as the hilarity on screen that in brings in chains up a stage for several moments in a match. So funny to watch...
Feels more like a mini-game than Smash when landing that move.
