How ya like me now?Regardless, no one is entitled to a custom title or a name change. Just take it as a perk for giving back to the smash community.
As long as they don't abuse their power, yes of course.admins can do whatever they want anyway right?
I like to think of a title as a second name.I don't understand everyone's infatuation with custom title. You aren't on SWF to show how clever/funny you can make your name or your title. You aren't entitled to it, which is how you guys are making it seem. It is a cool perk to have for those that are willing to give back to the smash community, the ultimate goal of premium memberships.
Besides, do you realize how many custom titles we would have of the same thing everytime a new fad comes out (Thinks of Mods with On a Boat)![]()
They are not a big deal to you because you have one!Stop complaining about not having a custom title.
They arent that big a deal.
<3z his title btw

Kind of cheezy when it's just a username, I just want people to refer to me as exactly how you see it now.So why didn't you just make your name Cavalier Kinzer?
i agree wholeheartedly.I think every listed feature is perfect except the amount of name changes. Don't get me wrong, I desperately want to change my name, and I would not buy premium accounts without it. but 3 name changes a month on a forums isn't a good Idea. I think that 1 name change per year or even just 1 name change and we have to pay each time $2.50 would be more than enough to satify those of us who want a legit name change and have already thought out very carefully the new name that we want to stick with for the rest of our time here.
I disagree cause what if you changed your name and then decided that you wanted to go back to your original name? You would either be screwed or wait a month or a year. I wouldn't want that, and plus everyone would like to have a temporary name once in a while.I think every listed feature is perfect except the amount of name changes. Hm, you actually bring up mostly good points here. Switching colors might not be such a good idea at all, and yeah, the name changes will probably get abused to the point of confusion. It confused me enough when a few people got their names changed on April Fool's. There are people who want one name change legitimately and need Premium Membership so they'll stop bugging Admins for one. But three name changes a month...if you're changing your name that often, chances are you're abusing it.First of all, the point of a forum is for communication. It would be extremely annoying if the addition of Premium Membership hindered many of these things. Therefore I want to TRIM the list of potential changes.
You should not be able to change anyone else's color. Colors in Smashboards are useful so that people are able to quickly identify what category certain useful members are awarded to (Smash Director, Moderator, Debater, SBRoomer, etc) Having a flurry of colors would simply mean that no one would be able to tell who is actually of significance (not saying other members aren't significant, but it ruins the organization of things).
I think Pmembers should have their own specific color, not a host of colors, save they get confused for mods.
Three name changes a month is HORRIBLE. It makes you easily confusable with others with a similar name, if your own isn't consistent. The reason we have names is to identify and refer to individuals. Naturally, if this was a constantly changing property, it would be pretty bad. Now, I understand that there are those who regret the name they originally chose, which is why I think one name change a month should be more than enough, ESPECIALLY considering that this is a manual process. Naturally, you'll think harder about it the second time around.
The rest is pretty good, but I could see the email address costing additional money when it really isn't a necessity, especially considering that smashers will sooner check their PM box, especially when looking for information from other smashers. I'd remove that feature, to save on the money Pmembership would cost MLG to provide.
That being said, I'd probably buy it.
They are amazingCustom titles are awesome aren't they Omis?
I completely agree with Pierce about the name changes/colors :/First of all, the point of a forum is for communication. It would be extremely annoying if the addition of Premium Membership hindered many of these things. Therefore I want to TRIM the list of potential changes.

no they don't, this is smashboardsBecause people have friends?
Perhaps it takes a high school mentality to look at it that way.no they don't, this is smashboards
seriously though, whether people use it for their friends or tagging people they don't like or w/e, either way it's just turning smashboards into high school with premium members being the cool kids who get to either shun others or make them cool too. I dunno, just seems to cliquey for me.
A lot of people think the immaturity of some of those on this forum may take over when given too many freedoms, you know?Perhaps it takes a high school mentality to look at it that way.Are you sure this is the only way to look at it? Because I hadn't thought of it this way untill now.
Anyway, there's always a cool kids club in every forum, I don't think that it would have a negative effect.
lol, I'm 23 bro, HS is more than a bit behind me and I don't care to relive itPerhaps it takes a high school mentality to look at it that way.Are you sure this is the only way to look at it? Because I hadn't thought of it this way untill now.
I mean, I guess I'm fine with having cool kids clubs where people have the ability to put themselves in it (i.e. only premium members) or remove themselves from it (deny a premium member changing your color). I just think the idea of giving premium members control over others accounts, even in a way as trivial as changing their color, doesn't make much sense.Anyway, there's always a cool kids club in every forum, I don't think that it would have a negative effect.
I'm not entirely sure of how this color changing will work for premies. I don't think it's been done in the past? You'd have to rely on QueenKilljoy for that one.Steel2nd said:I don't understand why we should allow people to randomly change it without your permission? Correct me if I'm misunderstanding something.
Here's the thing, we have over 100,000 members. so far, only 130 something are interested in buying it. Will it really be that big of a deal? Besides, it's not "control over others' accounts."Mogwai said:lol, I'm 23 bro, HS is more than a bit behind me and I don't care to relive it.

If the person doesn't want their name to be the colour I'm sure there'd be an option to not accept the colour change/remove it. I have no idea how the mechanics would work, wether you'd have to manually choose to display the colour, ala group memberships, wether there'd be a prompt to accept/deny a recolour, or simply getting a PM from an admin saying "Billy wants to give you <colour> Do you accept yes/no"Also, name colors aren't really a big deal but some people are content with how it is. I don't understand why we should allow people to randomly change it without your permission? Correct me if I'm misunderstanding something.
It may change, but the way custom titles for premmies worked last time was that they were able to change it themselves under "Your Details" in a way just like changing your location. I'd assume it'd be the same. It's all based on requests to Admins. It's how you'd get your title, and name change as well
Okay, that's all I really wanted to be sure of. As long as we can "reject" their request in some way.If the person doesn't want their name to be the colour I'm sure there'd be an option to not accept the colour change/remove it. We aren't planning on letting people be jerks with it.
