@brookman lol i understand that you were mostly joking, but i think its pretty silly to imply that "only noobs" aerial oos.
especially marths, they love trying to fair oos (or just fair) to beat your approach after taking/shielding a laser

@mogwai, word, failed shine grabs -> full hop dair is the falco meta.

Well, I met a girl at the Rainbow Bar. . . she asked me if I'd beat her. She took me back to the Hyatt house - I don wana talk about it.

Eh, I think Bair would **** Ganon due to the differences in speed and because of how many ways you can use Bair.

Why would you need to approach Ganon head on anyway? You could easily **** him with Shine I think.

Falcon's Uair is my favorite move in the game though so I'd agree to that.

I want to expect better of you, but I know not to
who cares about who's approaching? If the move matchup is shine vs. Ganon Fair, I think Ganon Fair would just **** unless Fox managed to get behind Ganon or under Ganon, neither of which can really be done while only moving and shining vs. a grounded/short hopping Ganon. Also, Fox with shine gets hard-countered by Yoshi with anything. You literally cannot kill him. Now that I'm thinking about it, Jiggs with bair is also worth mention in this super hypothetical and super awesome game-type.

Falco lasers can't KO, lol. Rest would get ***** by spacing except maybe if it were super theory bros melee in addition to being single move melee. I think Knee is too slow and spaces too poorly, but maybe I'm just crazy. Still seems like uair would be better on Falcon to me. I think Nair < Bair on Fox, but idk, they're both pretty stupid.

seriously though nair/uair would be best for falcon. bair for jiggs. probably nair for fox and maybe for falco too..

i think falco's lasers could do it though lol

i so want to do this single move thing. i would have to choose falco's dair i could manage

fox's shine would be pretty fun
zelda already does single move, well 2 moves
and roy's up-b only vs jiggs

There ARE subtle differences in how Green Falco's moveset looks in comparison to blue/red. This is especially noticeable when falco does a DD > aerial.
or maybe you're seeing things that aren't there.

I'm actually fairly positive Falcon's Knee and Falco's Dair might actually win this now that I think about it. Knee/Dair would be beast for trading, comboing and killing.

Also, in single move Melee, would they be able to use their recovery moves if they weren't being used as attacks?

Any tips for waveshining? I can do it perfectly forwards but majority of the time I screw up the backwards waveshine. I know the problem too. The problem is I turn around in my shine before wavedashing out and it throws off my timing. Any tips on this?

Umm well the only thing colors could be the advantage is like Purple Ganon on BF, KJ64.. or like Green Falcon on DL lol. Blend in the environment.

Just make sure you jump before pushing backwards haha. Practice doing the waveshine slower to get good muscle memory for it if you need to.

^Yeah, get the muscle memory for maximum distance, non-turnaround backwards waveshine down before you work on speeding it up. Helps with both Fox & Falco.
Does anyone else have any idea what Rubyiris is talking about?
Green is by far the darkest (and for all intents and purposes, only dark) color that Falco has. The difference in contrast between Falco's feather's and his jacket/pants could play a factor in how one's eyes interpret what's on-screen.
People with RGB color-blindness might want to stick with White or Blue Falco's though to prevent him blending into the background in their perspective. Or I guess someone could be a **** and pick Kongo Jungle 64, Green Falco against a color-blind person.

it's possible that you don't hold your hands on the controller the same way when you try to waveshine backwards. that sounds kind of weird b/c why wouldn't you right? however, a while back i noticed that i often messed up the end of certain sequences. for example, running right, shine turnaround, wavedash, ledgehog-- i used to phantasm to the left rather than shining a decent % of the time.

it was b/c when i want to do something fast i have a habit of removing my left palm from the side of the controller which causes my hand, and consequently my thumb, to rotate clockwise far enough to throw off directional inputs on the joystick . so if i wanted to uptilt, sometimes i would do an angled forward tilt up (b/c my thumb was actually going diagonally rather than straight up); if i wanted to go down (to shine) i would end up going diagonally down far enough to phantasm

may not be an issue for you, but keeping my left palm completely on my controller fixed just about all of my most common technical errors

My hand stays completely in place the whole time. I'll just practice backwards waveshine with the mind set that I need to jump before inputting a direction. (Because I tend to input jump and the direction at the same time, or near it.) I'm improving slowly so far. Thanks for the tips. :D

you're imagining it IMO. I will not be convinced without a slow motion video comparing them side by side and showing differences.
play blue/red falco. Do nair/dair at different timings.
play green falco. do the same ****
????
see the difference/profit!

Green Falco seems to like... bunch up a little tighter than blue/red when doing those specific aerials and for whatever reason it makes it easier for me to space my moves.
