I've been into the competitive side of the game since the release of Platinum. A friend originally taught me about EVs during gen 3 and I did a bit of research on the subject myself later, but it took getting swept at the local Platinum pre-release tourney by a spore-punching Breloom for me to get interested enough to learn to build competitive teams properly.

I'd prepare in-game teams, but every time I play a new pokemon game, my main objective is to get my pokedex as complete as possible, so it'll be a while before I start any teambuilding.

EVERY TIME one of these Wi-Fi events comes around, my Nintendo WFC has to act up.
Our internet is working on the computer for once... but not on our Wii or DSes. ._.

On a brighter note, I was very pleased to see the other day that my Mewtwo's progressing well, and was annoying my friend a lot the other day. xD It was barreling through most of her stuff like it was paper.

I have a question about the Safari Zone.



I want to get a Shuppet which appears after 20 days. I know its been 20 days and when I place the right objects he still doesn't appear. Do I have to wait for Baoba to call me telling me that more pokemon have moved in or something?


Also, I thought Kanto was fine. I wish it had a bit more, but what do you expect? I mean it has 2 regions in one game. If it had more content, that would be Nintendo basically giving away Pokemon R/B and Pokemon G/S.

!!! is guaranteed surfing or flying....

There HAS to be some trick to this.

Do you have a ground type in there?


Just put in the Sandshrew Baoba makes you capture for him and it's more likely that you'll get a surfing or flying rat

I'm all the way in Violet City here, I traded a ground type from a diff game so I could shove it into the Yellow forest along with some others for different courses.

But I just have really ****ty luck and can't find anything for ****.

I also was trying too hard to get this, and stayed up till 2:30AM messing with this thing. I still have like 13,000 steps on this because I was so obsessed with getting that Flying Pikachu.

Geez how did I get 13,000 steps in like two and a half hours when I was tired.

The first night it was released, I did the necessary amount of steps and never got anything other than the lowest level of/"normal" Pikachus. I finally said screw this, took Zubat out and put one of the Pikas I just caught in, and the first Pika I found then(3 !'s) knew Fly. I ended up trading it to a friend though.

I've been headbutting trees and I have found like 5 pokemon not yet in my dex and I captured them, yet I can't find a Ledyba

Isn't Ledyba available in the grass on some routes (posssibly during a specific time of day) like Spinarak is in HG?

Guys, I need your help. Me and my rival in real life are battling, since then I have gotten much better than him but he won't admit it.

Problem: it's not for a few weeks, I can't use the sandstream/sand veil combo, nor the serene grace, nor legendaries, dispite whatever reason (he is a Halo freak and everything that -could- be is cheap..so I have to crush him with lame terms)
(He's still my best friend =3)

All this being said, i want a good team to win with. So far I'm at (this isn't worth rmt, just want pokemon addition ideas, this is nowhere near uber serious xD)
Tyranitar, Gyarados, Charizard, Kingdra, -

I need two more, I can't use Jirachi and my Golem isn't good enough to use for this. I want to do Gengar for the 5th, but the 6th I'm stuck. Could do Scizor...but I don't know, Salamence would rock too, lol. Any thoughts?

Also, I finally found a Ledyba. Route 2. Apparently, it's the only place that you can catch any during the day time... which sucks because most of the pokemon at that time are unobtainable to me since I go to school in the morning

I could do Antilead Dragonite, Gengar (I tend to favor the first 2 generations badly), Salamence, Bronzong, Metagross, Lucario, hmm... another steel is bad though. I could do Leafeon <_> Ugh... I need to suprise him... hmm.. D: I have to win too, he is my best buddy but his ego annoys me so~

IMO.

Also pairs pretty decently with Mence.

You get Feebas either by trading from someone else who already has it or somehow finding it in the Quiet Cave pokewalker course. I recommend the former because it takes 100000 watts to unlock the course.

This game also made PokeWalker hunting impossible, catching in the safari zone ludicrous, they really hate you by lucking you out in this game, etc.


I love this game so much, but all these little annoyances makes it hard to like this game

Hey guys what should I put on my team. I know I had a team set before the game came out, but I just realized that the new variety of pokemon in this game makes me want to get a new team.



I have now as an official part of my team:

Celebi
Typhlosion


I want to have these on my team:

Breloom
Lucario (bone rush, force palm, etc., etc., etc.)


What do you guys think? And I'm not caring of the competitive aspect of the team, I just want a team full of epic pokemon
