From what I remember, there are no trainers in Victory Road, only your rival.

I take my Walker with me daily and get anywhere from 8,000 to 20,000 steps. You find some very good stuff.

I've been taking my walker to school every day. I shake the crap out of it during class, and occasionally put it in my shoe and tap my foot. **** is so cash =)

It seems like the walker is useful for people who want cool pokemon in the beginning of the game. This kinda bored me, but it is neat some of the pokemon on the pokewalker come with egg moves, saves time I guess. (or makes collectors) I was disappointed at the pokewalker until I saw the items. Pikachu collectables + Egg move pokemon was decent, but the items won me over. What's better than getting pp ups and rare candies <_<;

^ edit: so many people in my senior class have it on ^^

This, I end up talking about pokemon for about 2 hours straight with one of my friends and I get called gay for it, but I do it in stride :)

You know what I get a kick out of? When you get someone hooked on Pokemon.

At first he thought it was gay (mostly because its a contender with LoZ, which he claims to know everything (and I repeat everything)about) but then he hears me and a friend hyping over SS/HG and he then asks us to explain it to him more. We tell him the basic stuff about the series and he actually listened. Then my friend let him use his DS a bit and he actually liked it...... except he made the biggest n00b mistakes of life. He used Heal Wish on Jirachi when no other party pokemon was hurt XD. Then another one of my friends let him have his Platinum, but just for a few days and he actually likes it now, even battling XD

I get kicks out of this :chuckle:
I got my friend addicted to Pokemon recently via the original Gold version; actually, ironically enough, it was on the 14th. xD

I now officially hate Voltorb Flip.
Normally I'm good with and like number puzzles like Sudoku, Mindsweeper, Slitherlink, etc.
But after reading every possible guide for this **** game, it's still nigh impossible. ._.

The closest to best I've come up with is this tut on PokeCommunity i found... even then, it didn't help much. It only got me past the first Mukking level

XD lol

That reminds me of someone who doesn't know much about Pokemon, so he pulled about the n00biest move anybody has ever seen. He made my friend's Jirachi use Heal Wish at the VERY BEGINNING of a battle, killing himself and the benefit not being given due to nobody having HP lost XD

How the **** could you be THAT bad at it? I mean, I know I have my bad luck streaks where I don't get above Level 4 for a while, but I rarely have issues with just the first two levels (although I have had the random placement of the numbers be so ridiculously hard on level 2 that you'd think you were on level 7). As long as you're decent at simple math and playing with odds, it should be easy.

As for me now, I'm training just south of Blackthorn so I can hopefully have a decently easy time with Ho-Oh (which I'm SR'ing for a shiny; Adamant nature (Synchronize) and hopefully decent IVs?). I've already tried taking him on and know my gameplan, but apart from my Typhlosion not a single thing on my team could take more than two hits (and Typhlosion could barely take two). ._.

So yeah, I'm training.

I have difficulties getting past the first effing level. I've gotten to level three once.
And I've read Pokecommunity's tut.
Then again, ASCII is jumbled and pictures are blurry on a phone. I may fare better once I'm home and have a real comp to use.
Still, it's sad, since I'm in honors math, love logic games, and usually fare well at them. ._.

So yeah, I dropped Anorith because it began to lag on my team.

Golbat / Ampharos / Quilava / Poliwhirl

I can't seem to max Golbat's happiness. Suggestions outside of PokeWalker?

I'm happy....

I beat Red :D

I got a Charmander and a Torchic. Tomorrow I'm getting a Mudkip and a Bulbasaur in exchange for Charmander and Torchic eggs. If I get bulbasaur, I'll complete all the Kanto starters, as I already got a Squirtle yesterday for giving my friend a Larvitar egg (XD lol, he doesn't know that he can find one in the safari zone!)

My team currently:

Typhlosion
Rayquaza (lol, my friend loaned me it to help me to fend off Red)
Blastoise
Charmander
Combusken
Starmie

I had brought Lugia and Starmie back to my team to help me fend off Blue... I felt bad afterwards until I thought "Hey, I technically didn't break the rules! I remember Ash bringing some of his old Pokemon back sometimes to defeat a gym."

So technically I was able to pull an Ash (not counting Rayquaza... well he WAS traded for one of the members of my party, so it could've been like the time he traded Aipom for Buizel)... I'm happy :)

My music is now 24 hour GB Player XD. The only music I hate so much is the music in the Ruins of Alph  It gets so annoying and the fact that I never liked it makes it worse.

I do love being in Ice Cave, Goldenrod, Pallet Town, and New Bark Town just to hear the music XD

Hold the Soothe Bell and keep it at the front of your party as much as possible. That's how I got my Eevee's happiness to max. Also refrain from letting it faint if at all possible. (My Eevee ironically evolved in the same battle in which it fainted, then I revived it mid-battle.)

Progress:

Got through Routes 27 and 26 and got to Victory Road, though I'm currently back on Route 26 because I dug out to heal.

Team:

Umbreon, Level 35
Pidgeot, Level 37
Ninetales, Level 36
Ampharos, Level 37
Steelix, Level 33
Feraligatr, Level 41

I can't wait to level Umbreon up once more, then it'll finally learn Faint Attack and actually have a STAB move. It's ridiculous that, if you want an Umbreon before level 30, you have to wait until level 36 to get a Dark-type move (aside from Pursuit, but it's not really that desirable in the story since trainers RARELY, if ever, switch). Why Eevee learns Bite and Umbreon doesn't is beyond me. I'm just glad that I have Shadow Ball and Psychic on it, or it would be near-useless.

I also wish there were a PC before Victory Road so I could put away my Tentacool HM slave and take Feraligatr back out (not that I need to train him at the moment anyways, since he's so far above everyone else). And maybe just a Poké Center in general so I could go somewhere else and come back, since I'm far too lazy to fly away and have to go all the way back through Routes 26 and 27.

And I just took the time out now to plan out my movesets for all of my Pokémon. The first move listed is the one the Pokémon currently has, if it's being replaced it's red and has a hyphen with a lime-colored move, the move I intend to replace it with. If there's no hyphen I'm keeping that move.

UMBREON
- Shadow Ball
- Psychic
- Quick Attack - Faint Attack
- Confuse Ray - Toxic
PIDGEOT
- TwisterOminous Wind
- U-turn
- Fly
- Quick AttackHeat Wave
NINETALES
- Flamethrower
- Extrasensory
- Faint Attack
- Energy Ball
AMPHAROS
- StrengthPower Gem
- ThunderpunchSignal Beam
- Discharge
- Focus Blast
STEELIX
- DragonBreathIce Fang
- DigIron Head
- Headbutt - Earthquake
- Rock ThrowStone Edge
FERALIGATR
- Surf
- Crunch
- SlashDragon Claw
- Avalanche

I must be bored.

Looks good..so annoying you can't really train your team in Kanto. My level 55's are just running through the wild pokemon XD

i've got 10 badges now, all pokemon 55~56..on yet another side-quest, and no it's not breeding. It's called getting a dragon scale for kingdra via pokelethon!

You know what I find bothersome about this game? Transportation between regions. It's so tedious having to fly from Vermillion to the Pokemon League and from the Pokemon League to Olivine

I wish you could just do a one way trip between regions... seriously.

Also, my Pokedex:

National

Seen: 236
Obtained 86

Regional

Seen: 205
Obtained: 72

It's coming out good imo, I just need a few more pokemon to complete the Kanto set and a few to complete the Johto set too...

Other than headbutting, Safari Zone, and the radio, I have no idea where to get all the Sinnoh and Hoenn pokemon.

I don't have D/P/Pt/R/S/E/Fr/Lg either... :(

Hopefully one of my friends will help me out though...

It's better than the originals. If I recall correctly, you could only go between regions in G/S/C by boat Monday and Friday, by train, or by foot. At least you can go by flying this time.

Pokedex update.

Seen:246
Caught:63

I get to borrow my friends DS soon so i can add all my D/PT pokemon
Wow, I totally forgot about PokéDex, none of us have been doing an update of that.

Mine:

Seen: 175
Caught: 77

I intend to do a full breakage of this game as far as PokéDex goes, meaning that I want to have one of every Pokémon in addition to filling out their Dex entries. I was planning do that in Diamond, but I only ever got around to doing PokéDex completion.

Firus you can fly to both ends of victory road so flying out and then back to the southern entrance is easy.

Wait, you can? I didn't think there was an option to fly there yet...

...

Holy crap, you can. Thank you very much for the info!

Meh my platinum is 493/493 so I'm just going to transfer <.<.
Pff.

Cheater.

EDIT: Question, when does the Battle Frontier open? I'm assuming it's post-E4, but I can't find anything confirming nor denying that.

I've given it haircuts, gave it vitamins when I could afford it and it's been carrying Soothe Bell ever since I got the item.

-Terywj
I seriously evolved Golbat to Crobat in 15 mins, counted.

Here's what you do, 15 mins guaranteed:

1. Catch Golbat in a friend ball
2. Attach sooth bell to it
3. Get a haircut from better haircut brother
4. Challenge a gym leader with the golbat
5. Raise him 1 level, it will evolve

Well I never beat the battle tower challenge on platinum...because I didn't want to do it twice, so I've still gotta get through that challenge, which is hard because I have the worst luck with ohko battlers on battle 88~100 >_>.
I'm probably going to use Soul Silver's resources to get all the pokemon that way, just because the Safari Zone is that cool, but the pokemon you can't catch with this game I'll probably import. I put 60+ hours into getting 493 on platinum XD, don't want to do the breeding/trading thing again..

Either way, it's hardly cheating. I got everything on my platinum , all events etc. The only game aspect I didn't do was battle tower and get the flute Arceus. First is because my luck and other things, second is because I'll never cheat =x

Luxury Ball you mean?

Anyways I got Crobat at level 30, but I will use this for future friendship Pokemon. :)

O.o lol.. I've been doing pokelethon so much more than I needed too for Dragon Scale. So addicting...nothing as satisfying as seeing Tyranitar knock a Marill off into the dark abyss.

It is Post E4.

Just go to Cianwood (the place where you get the medicine for Amphy), go to the left, you will see a... toll house booth thing where you go in, go out the other end, and BAM! you got your Battle Frontier.

I didn't miss it, I just assumed somebody would answer it for me XD

Oh, thank you. I was looking at a FAQ to see if it said anything and the Battle Frontier section was right below Red and they made no other allusion to when it opens, so I was worried it was post-Red, which would make getting all of the TMs and move tutor moves from there seem much less useful, since that's after most of the main game is done.

In SS I think there called Friend calls, alothihg Luxury balls in other games have the same funtion.

Unfortunatly, not much pokemon that evolve with happiness are caught with friend/luxury balls, they are usually in eggs or given.

Ye-NO! I want to do this the honest way. I nearly got my friend to give me his action replay for cheats, but I decided to do it the manly way. If I fill up my Pokedex to a living one, it'll be because I persevered and did not give up, just how I Ashed Kanto

It lets a certain Pokemon breed its baby form, like Marill to Azurill, Sudowoodo to Bonsly, etc.
Can't remember what Pokemon family it was for, though... Not Snorlax, that's Full Incense...

Edit: It's to breed a Wynaut from a Wobbuffet (sp). xD Just have the parent hold it when breeding.

Thanks, I guess my pokewalker finally made itself useful XD

Anyways, I've spent the last 2 hours hunting for Hoenn pokemon that come through Hoenn sound and headbutting trees for exclusive to 1 tree Pokemon
