I actually like it, especially in contrast to the Game Corner. It's like Pokémon Sudoku of sorts.

I think the Pokeathlon is fantastic as well!! I freaking love it.
In the future, I hope they have a "Prize Exchange" Corner for Contests. One of the things I definitely hate about Contests in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum is how UNfulfilling they feel to play. I mean, I was never one to get into collecting all the ribbons (Currently still being told by the ***** at the Ribbon Syndicate that my Gyarados just isn't cute enough to enter. ****!).

But, does anyone know how to get "harder" opponents in the Pokeathlon? I'm tired of beating the "Victorious Victor" and the strongest Pokemon is probably the Rhydon in the Power Contest. =/

I was certainly surprised I was able to use "minigame" and "fun" in the same sentence without lying. Good job, Game Freak!

It bugs me that only certain prizes are for certain days, and that you can only get each prize once a day. I NEED MORE HEART SCALES HERE.

One of the things that bugs me about Pokemon is that they keep replacing things, taking things out, and putting them back in. Like the battle frontier. Why wasn't that in D/P? Why did they take the contests out of HGSS? Why remove the comprehensive Pokemon list that was in Stadium 2 from subsequent Pokemon console games? It just makes no sense. They downgrade as much as they upgrade.

D/P is like a demo, if you want all the perks, you have to buy the full (or in this case Pt) version once it comes out.

So, I brought my Pokewalker to school today just to see how many steps I got, since I'm more interested in it as a pedometer than anything else.
It turns out that I get less steps being at school than just lazing around the house (~6,000 less).

Same reason they removed animations in Ruby and Sapphire. So they could add them into the third game of that generation and make a big deal out of it as a selling point.

I think a good handful of people would've passed on Platinum if they already had the Battle Frontier.

Yeah the other thing about Voltorb Flip is that you can get a pretty decent amount of coins from very little playing. From the slots, you lose coins AND you get only ~15 output every so often and ~300 (or whatever you get for 777) when you get really lucky.

I got 500 my first time actually knowing what I was doing with Voltorb Flip (thanks to my friend explaining his strategy) in a short amount of time.

I don't know where you can find the GIFs, but I know where you can find the sprites...The Spriter's Resource has sheets of all of them. You can always do that and use Unfreez to animate them yourself, it's not too difficult.

EDIT: Bah, I keep forgetting to add my progress.

Beat Clair last night. She was tough, but my Pidgeot took her Kingdra down eventually. I then beat the Kimono Girls, which weren't exactly DIFFICULT, but completely annoying. All of their Pokémon pick one good move and spam it ad nauseam. The only ones that didn't were Espeon and Flareon, and that's because I 2HKO'd Espeon and OHKO'd Flareon. Ironically, though, Jolteon spamming Double Team did absolutely nothing -- my Steelix's dig hit both times to knock it out.

Then I went to the Whirl Islands and if it weren't for the fact that Lugia's harder to weaken than Dialga was, I would've been feeling quite a bit of déjà vu from Diamond. I crit'd it with Slash the first time and killed it, the second time I got it down to red, threw a Dusk Ball preparing to Poké Ball spam...and it was caught.

I'm not really too big of a fan of the battle theme for Lugia...felt too creepy, something I never thought of Lugia as.

Haha, I took the Kimono Girl challenge like....I don't know, ANIME-STYLE!
I decided to pick a different Pokemon in my team to rival each of the Eeveelutions:

Umbreon - Nidorino
Espeon - Dodrio
Jolteon - Vulpix
Vaporeon - Feraligatr
Flareon - Dugtrio

It was so awesome battling like that ^_^.
My Nidorino and Vulpix are now a Nidoking and Ninetales !
