@chibo

@frozenflame.
Look at your first post:
http://www.smashboards.com/showpost.php?p=9791597&postcount=52

Then at your second:
http://www.smashboards.com/showpost.php?p=9792289&postcount=70

Simple question... Did your intention change when writing post 70? What was your intention when typing 52, and what was your intention while typing 70?
My intent in my first post was to bring to light what I saw as a potential scum slip and a scummy reaction to Ronike's initial callout. I sought to re-create the chain of posts leading up to the scummy interaction I saw, express my opinion on it, and put pressure on via voting.

In the second post, my intent was to clarify for you what your accusers have been trying to convey and explain WHY what you did is viewed as scummy, and for all intents and purposes clarify my stance.

I like my vote on Xonar still, but people need to stop dancing with L-1 this early. A votecount would be nice.

Sword's buddying, instagrouping of Ryker and Xonar, and the contradiction between his claimed interpretations of the "slip" are all giving me red flags though. He deserves some scrutiny here.

Oh yeah and I forgot to mention that the role phishing needs to stop like immediately since Gheb is 100% right in saying that we should NOT assume that any pokemon power roles go away if and when you are recruited by a trainer. We should be wary of having our abilities turned against us so lets not be any less careful with PRs than we normally would.

Ah, Xonar, you're right. I must have misread. Thanks for clarifying. Chibo is less scummy, but still scummy for calling for a claim this early.

Fluff suggests that Trainers are actually competing with each other. Mewtwo is in no way related to the trainers. There was no catching pokemon N0. How is 'instagrouping' bad at this point? Or am I reading this wrong and are you saying that Swords is viewing me and Ryker as a group?
"Sword's ... instagrouping of Xonar and Ryker"
Is that correct?

Ya Xonar, that's how I read it, but grouping people together this early isn't scummy at all, as the only team with more than 1 player on it is wild, most likely.

Chibo setting out a line for role fishing?
Hardly. Trying to find out people's roles for no reason at all = role fishing.

Go back and re-read from the start of the Xonar business. We've got multiple people thinking he slipped up and not acting particularly like a townie (wild pokemon). He got close to being lynched (which is typically when people claim or want to hear one) and rather than have people unvote him, we should find out if the slip was true or not and work on possible relationships from there, such as Ryker's buddying of him.

Reason doesn't matter

Tell us how. My argument is mainly that I used the rolePM as a way to make it simpler for those without a power. The comment was based on that post of you that I still dont understand. Elaboration on that post is still welcome.

I suspect chibo, as he wants to get rid of mewtwo first, which would make it so that trainers can only be killed by pokemon a if pokemon a can kill.
How are we supposed to even find Mewtwo first? Give me a reason why a trainer would act differently in this game than Mewtwo atm. The three of them are pretty much all independents against the wild pokemon.

I was going over the setup and learning what I could about it with the town and came to the fact that as a player, Mewtwo is obviously a greater threat unless the trainers can kill people as well. The upside to being recruited by a trainer is that at least we would still be in the game, albeit under a different faction with a different win condition.

EBWOP - To the above post, Mewtwo and Trainers acting the same only applies to Day 1, or any situation in which Trainers haven't recruited and formed a team yet.

People saying Xonar slipped are so lol-able.

Chibo, is Ryker's buddying of Xonar S/S, T/S, or T/T?
Scum/Scum? Why would you possibly think that and bring it up? I'm assuming from the obvious hints in the OP that Red and Green are in different factions and therefor do not know who each other are. Mewtwo would likely be an independent as well. No one has buddies to buddy with. If someone were a trainer, why would they buddy anyone? If they are by themselves it would be in their best interest to follow along with a potential lynch.

EBWOP (even though its in the same post), I just typed all of that above but don't want to erase it because I just thought of something else. A reason it could be scum/scum is because one scum wants the other one eliminated since they obviously would be enemies of each other, and a large potential threat.

*sigh*

I really just can't see Ryker being scum though at this point, he feels more like a cautious town though.

Xonar I'm up in the air on.

I'm still confused about all this confusion, can you please point out which post of mine you wanted explained better?

Chibo, why the hell would you ask for a role when Xonar's at L-2 and me and Kirbyo have already stated that we think it's bunk. The rest of the game hasn't even commented sans Ronike.

lulz, I like how Chibo dodged my question. Ok, so you've ruled out S/S buddying, but do you think it's a wild buddying a wild, or scum buddying someone he thinks is wild?

Does this conjecture even matter atm? There are more important things at hand.

In a game so out of left field like this, how do you expect us to play it effectively with every single role out there being originally created essentially? It's like taking shots in the dark. Rolefishing is bad, but understanding the basic mechanics and a outline of the setup is fairly important.

FoS: McFox - Seems like your trying to keep us off the idea of looking for Mewtwo when I find it to be a bigger threat.

FoS: Swords - For trying to keep the more powerful roles a complete secret. Unless there are other wild pokemon out there that are considerably more powerful (which idk if that would work since then that would/could make the trainer that owns them (if recruited) OP'd). Pretty much, we're not dealing with Town PR's like in most mafia games, and we don't have to worry about exposing them. The only time you should be worried about the "PRs" in this game (meaning Red Green and Mewtwo) being exposed is when you are aligned under one of them, and atm, no one is recruited yet (since you cant recruit on night 0), then no wild pokemon should be worried about PRs being exposed or not.
that part. The post on which I replied with my 'slip' to begin with. Especially the bolded is what I replied too. Does realising this change your view on the slip? I read that as "We're not dealing with town PR's", to which I replied that I'm pretty sure that pokemon have PR's. I didn't say "Pokemon have PR's", because, hypothetically, if somebody had no PR and I would have one, I would be 'caught'. And I wouldn't want scum to interpeted it like that (that being the fact that I have a PR and the other person doesn't) and kill me.
Looking back at it, it was stupid though. There's a power AND attribute tab and even a power on the sample PM (which I even referenced  ). So yeah, I don't blame anyone voting me.

Y'all seem to be forgetting that I like Xonar as a lynch not only because of his slip, but because he didn't realize that all pokes have PRs anyways. Sure, he can pretend this was to protect himself for outing himself as a PR, but thats still bogus since EVERYONE HAS A PR. Easily noted both by the theme, mod, and comparison with example PR.

Only two other people I would consider as lynch targets at this point are Kirby (cause he can't god**** read and will likely cause three mislynches later so as to top his "contributions" to batmanfia) and Ryker (His post #94 rubs me the wrong way terribly, why couldn't you call us on our "BS" anyways? Clarify for me?)

Chibo, Mewtwo is not the greater threat to town (assuming he kills, trainers recruit). A kill gets town a net loss of 1 person, while a recruit not only takes one number away from town, but also adds one number to an opposing faction, thus earning a net loss of 2 for the town. Mewtwo is the greater threat to the fun of a player.

Also, been thinking about it for a while, and its more beneficial for me to reveal my role than not to. Anyone that visits me at night is burned and can't vote the next day. Including killers. Hence the reveal. If anyone else reveals without good reason, I will find you scummy the rest of the game.

Bull ****in ****. Even Magikarp has an ability and hence a PR. And this is an M3D game. Everyone's got a PR, even if it doesn't make sense for them to have one. It makes sense for everyone to have one here, ergo you have an ability. Stop being such terrible scum.

I didn't think I had time when I last posted, but now I do so I will :)

Don't think what people are saying about Xonar is legit.
I'm going to be really pissed if someone has Spore as an ability. I don't know anything about previous games run that had all PRs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't sample PM's always Vanilla examples? If there isn't vanilla townies in the game, I would expect the example PM to show not a vanilla.

Still think McFox is GOOD TO GO.

Except for one thing. Has it ever been that one player has been a VT in one of M3D's games with everyone else having a power role?
I was in a masonry in one of M3D's games, but otherwise I had no special abilities.

Vote: Ronike

You are tunneling, and that claim was stupid. There is no reason a wild Pokemon would "visit" you at night. Unless visiting just means you are in the same area (which your specific word usage implies that it's not), then the ONLY people who would visit you would be anti-town. Good job.

Also, it's my firm belief that a trainer would have to be in the same location as you to recruit you. "Trainer encounters wild ______" is pretty much the direct line from the game. How would a trainer recruit you in one city if you're in another? So it's not like if someone claims that you'll suddenly get recruited if you're across the world. In Harry Potter mafia, there was that meeting in the Great Hall every night, but here we're literally spread all around Kanto. It wouldn't really make sense to me.

FoS: Swords for the blatant contradiction on his stance on Xonar that Xonar pointed out.

Summoner, this is why you originally voted me. After reading everything since then (assuming that you HAVE read everything since then), you still find this scummy? Are you saying you want to be recruited? Please, explain why you want me lynched in more detail than "I'm still for it," when your original reason doesn't really hold any weight, considering that I was right, and wild Pokemon getting recruited would be bad for us. Like Ronike pointed out, not only do we LOSE one of us, but what we assume is an independent recruiting faction GAINS a number. That's doubly bad.

Thinking back on it, if a trainer has recruited 3 Pokemon and is then killed, that would actually be beneficial for us, since it's a safe assumption that his recruited Pokemon are on his side now, against us. Still, taking one of our number away and adding it to an enemy's side is not really good for any reason that I can think of.

I didn't dodge the question. At first I discredited SvS, but then I realized how that could work. My votes on Xonar and he's been talked to death so obviously I think he's S thus ruling out TvT. So thinking Xonar is town and the other is a possibility of S, or on the contrary, a possibility of T. I don't have an exact answer on that yet.

By not dealing with normal town PRs like in normal games, I mean the difference in that:
-In a regular game, the town has vanillas and PRs. PRs are clearly more important than vanillas, and are a strong aspect to the town and thus need to be specially protected from being outted in a sense.
-In this game, we're likely dealing with a town where every wild pokemon has a power or ability. There isn't like a pedestal of players held higher than everyone else in the town that we have to keep extra careful of.

Obviously we have to be careful to not lose townies, but it changes the strategy.

This is a good point, I didn't really think about it like that. I was more thinking about it originally on the basis of a player with being killed vs not being killed, but being recruited is sort of like a double whammy.

Yet another one Chibo. Still so certain that you want Xonar to claim?

Or it could show an example of a possible ability to show that we could very well have abilities that won't hit every time.
