Setting Sakurai's attempt to kill competitivity in Smash aside, there's one easy, simple reason for me hating it, that has nothing to do with what others do -- I don't conform, try to fit in with the crowd, blindly follow respected people, anything like that.

The simple reason: I don't enjoy it. This is the most accurate way to put it possible. I play Brawl, and at first, I enjoy it, but then after about five minutes, it's like "WHY THE **** DID I DO THIS?!"
I hate it because I don't enjoy it. The only time I can enjoy it is playing with friends and screwing around (or both). Melee, on the other hand, I've played since I got it and still enjoy playing it with or without friends, screwing around or not (although mostly not, because it's so much better for truly playing).

There are some other specific reasons, but what it comes down to is that I just don't enjoy it as much.

And I don't play as Sheik or button mash. I play Samus and actually play...

And yes, it was either Mewtwo or Lucario. But it should've been Mewtwo or no one. Mewtwo>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Lucario

And Brawl requires more thinking than Melee, methinks. Melee is all about getting your opponent locked into a combo, Brawl is about outsmarting your opponent. While watching a Melee does indeed look really cool, I prefer Brawl. When I see a Mario outwit a Snake, I just feel like standing up and clapping.

They need to make a Super Smash Bros. Pokemelee or something like that. And when did I start to become a PC meme?

I hear this all the time, but I honestly don't agree. I find that a lot of Brawl supporters think Brawl takes more thought and skill, and Melee supporters the same for Melee. You're bound to find the game you like more to require more skill or thought, whether on purpose or not.

Exactly. 8-bit could mean anything from the art style, to the size, or both, and then there's multiple types of 8-bit.

You've got to be more specific in cases like this.

But yeah, we both made 8-bit Ivysaurs, just different styles.
