I don't think I'll be able to even buy new any of the new consoles if they all decided that they were gonna jump ship on used games.

I mean, ****, I have to buy most of my games used because I don't have $60 to drop on every new game that catches my interest. This is such a bad idea for the industry, I wish that $ony and Micro$oft could look past their wallets and realize how balls this is.

If Nintendo ends up joining them then I'll have no choice but to stick with old games. Unless a shiny new company comes out with a fourth console minus the potential **** ups of what's coming next.

New games go down in price too, though.

I doubt it. Production costs continue to go up for games due to the HD era. Some development teams consist of 100s of people. Currently, digital sales on PSN are same price as buying a physical copy. ME3 on PSN is 60 dollars. Then you got all this DLC as well. The only other chance is to sell games in parts (SP, MP, etc) or some games offer F2P, with money being earned to buy stuff in game.

They do, over time a certain game can be bought "new" for a reduced price. I wait a while to buy Soulcalibur IV and I managed to buy it new for 20-30$ (can't remember the exact price). Maybe you thought I meant "games on release day's prices may go down" well yeah that probably wouldn't happen unfortunately.

I can definitely say that PC games tend to get sales, discounts, or other means of getting new games faster than consoles for whatever reason.

I kinda like where this is going! I like the idea of having games locked into one's account, like Steam! However, I expect the digital version to be at a lesser price than the disc-based retail of a game! Whether new or used, buying the physical disc should have the perk of playing it offline!

I don't, I would like the option of buying used games, plus if I lose internet (which happens occasionally for some reason) I would like to be able to play offline. I would hope that you can sign in guests at the very least so you can play splitscreen mutliplayer games.

Just makes me wonder when they plan to unveil it if both Sony and Microsoft have no plans of showing anything at E3. If the Wii U is technically slated for a 2012 holiday launch, it would have been 1.5 years since its debut at E3.

Seems legit. 360 dominated when the PS3 was released a bit later than expected xD
It didn't really help in the end:

PS3 worldwide sales are at 62 million as of December of last year.

XBox 360 are at 65.8 million as of this January.

So despite nearly a year lag (360 came out on November 16, 2005 versus November 11, 2006), the PS3 is only about 3 million units behind the 360.

Interestingly, despite having nearly half the price tag of both, the Wii has sold only 30 million more units in the time it took Sony to sell 62 million. That sounds like a big number, but considering the PS2 sold 154 million, I think this shows the state of the console industry.

I'm interested in seeing if the Wii-U can boast the same numbers because I don't think it will be able to. When you advertise and market strictly to a group of people who don't regularly spend a lot of money on games, you won't be able to get them to spend more magically.

As for the PS4, I am waiting to pass judgment on it and the 360's successor when they are officially announced. Rumors and "reports" don't meant that much.

So, if anyone is on the fence about getting Journey, I strongly recommend you do so, especially if you were a fan of flOw or Flower. Quite possibly the best $15 I've ever spent.

I've played through it about three times now. :3c

Gametrailers gave it a good review so it looked okay. I've never even heard of flOw or Flower though.

If anyone has never played P3, you should get it. Just saying. It's a really solid RPG, and it's really fun. And for such a good price too. :3

Anyone know of any good horror games to get? It can be a physical game or a PSN downloadable game.

It was an awesome game, I never beat it either, made it to the final boss and couldn't do it. May 1st can't come soon enough! Hopefully the sales are good and they make a sequel...

I'm trying Record of Agarest War and so far I enjoy it. It is just like Final Fantasy Tactics.
If you want some games like Final Fantasy Tactics, you should try Tactics Ogre (both the PS1/PSP versions, and the GBA one), Vanguard Bandits, and ESPECIALLY Front Mission 3. Seriously, I must've logged like...350-400 HOURS on that game total. It's that good, and no game really has quite that 'feel' to it (not even Front Mission 1 or 4). And apparently Vandal Hearts 2 isn't bad.

I got tired of his character. I wonder how he will be in this "4th prequel." With that being said, I was more leaning towards a sequel to 3, given the open ending. Maybe his character would have been a bit more human per say. Yeah he's killed all the Gods, but I figure they could do something with the plot.

I'm not much of a GoW person either, although I did play Chains of Olympus. The art style kills it for me. I think I'm in the minority here, but I have a really hard time getting into games that aren't bright and vivid. Zelda games, Mario games, Flower, that kind of thing. Of course, there's always exceptions to the mould such as games like Journey and Shadow of the Colossus, but I'm fairly sure anyone who's played them can understand why they're exceptions.

Wouldn't Zelda: OoT and TP be not considered bright and vivid? Seems like you might have a dislike for a lot of "popular" games on the PS3 and 360. Uncharted, Gears, MGS, Infamous, etc. Not saying it's a bad thing. To each their own.
