Well, that's lame. I could buy an older model, but the Slim with Move for 400 looks pretty nice, and probably could just keep ps2 for ps1/2 games. Ah well D=

Not true, the newer 80gb ps3s and the old 160gb will not play PS2 games. I recommend the Slim though due to it getting YLOD less.
Oh, my bad then.

The program has three reward tiers: Select, Pro and Legendary. Members advance through each tier based on their level of engagement and actions including playing new games for the first time, buying content from PlayStation Network in PlayStation Store or PlayStation Home, downloading movies and TV shows, or engaging in communication with PlayStation like taking surveys.
I wish Microsoft did this with the 360... :(

This may very well be out of the realm of this thread, but being not particularly versed in PS3, figured maybe someone wouldn't mind helping me out?

Anyway:

Does anyone know of any good black Friday deals for a PS3 Slim (bundle)?

- So far I've only seen Best Buy's (Playstation 3 160GB Console w/2 Games & 1 Blu-ray Movie) if you scroll to the bottom.

But upon further inspection of the ad itself, it seems limited to only ModNation Racers and Little Big Planet, plus Cars on Bluray (All of which I do not care for).

So I guess my real question is, any good deals on PS3 with different games or just the system itself that you guys know of?

Thanks a lot!

Please help me! D:

I have a regular TV. I plugged in the Green,Blue,Red,White and Red cables to the back of my TV. Now every time there's sound it shows these red lines flashing on the screen. Also, what's supposed to be red is yellow.

You are using composite cables. Composite cables have a red, green, and blue for HD video with another red (separate from those three) and a white for sound. It sounds like your TV can't support that, since you mentioned that a red cable was plugged into a yellow port. Is your TV old? Is it an HD TV?

I meant it in-game (Naruto)

The COLOR RED turns into the COLOR YELLOW. (no yelling intended)

It's a SDTV (regular)

Ok, I'm getting so ****ing pissed off at my PS3 controller. For some reason, when I connect it to the USB because of low battery, it randomly disconnects my controller. I then have to wait like a 20 seconds or something like that till it connects back on. Wtf is going on with my cable/controller/PS3? It's getting irratating playing BO while this keeps happening

Just don't move it around, the same thing happens to me. Sit still while you play, make sure not to get too into it.

Goddamn it, now my USB port's not working. I thought it was my cable at first that stopped working entirely (which is still malfunctioning btw) until I got my friend's cable to use.

Turns out my USB ports area also jacked up and that cable won't work with it either

Any solutions?

Get PSN Plus. I got Sackboy Prehistoric Moves for free from it (among MANY others), and it is a GREAT game.

You use the Move controller to manipulate the world while your friends run around and play LBP.

Just got our ps3 :3.

PSNplus really worth it?
http://www.smashboards.com/showpost.php?p=10661427&postcount=1563

Premium PSN service. Essentially, you $50 a year to get a free game a month (Wipeout HD this month), free mini/PS1 games each month, and free DLC. Also, they discount new DLC and offer avatars and themes.

In short, unless you spend a lot, it's not worth it, but you lose nothing in not getting it.
Hope this helps!

^ So ALL Dlc is free, or no?

O_O That seems amazing.

Edit: Nvm, some Dlc is free, and most discounted. Yeah... I also get a warranty. I'm so getting this.

Guys, I'm importing a Japanese PS3 (slim, classic white, 160GB). From all I've read the only issue is the DVD region lock (which I don't mind). I've also read that it has a universal power supply, so voltage is a non-issue. Is that true? I'd not mind buying an adaptor, but I've read everywhere that it's just not needed.

I dunno where to ask this but:

I got PX21's for my PS3 and I connected everything and I can hear everything like a charm, but for some reason I can't speak into the mic. Is it because my USB ports are broken (I think) or is it for some other reason I messed up on?

I mean, when I speak into my mic, I can hear my voice come out in the speakers of my headset, but I don't know why it won't register on my game or something

EDIT:

Nevermind, the solution was pretty stupid :urg:

Does anyone else have problems with downloading from the Playstation Store?

The other day I downloaded MGS1 from the Playstation Store just fine. It took less than an hour to download a 750mb file, which I'm happy with. However, today when I tried to download FF7 from the store it had only downloaded about 30mb after I think 45 mins. I'm guessing this is something to do with the PSN servers or something and there isn't a way to fix it?

Comp slow, downloading so much music to meh new iPod <3

But I could've sworn they mentioned something about faster downloads on psn plus's main page. I could be wrong, though.

Was there something else eating up a lot of bandwidth or something?

I would imagine that would make your downloads slower.
Nah there was nothing else in the house that was connected to the internet at the time so that couldn't have been the problem :(

I'm just gonna try again another day and see if there's an improvement, it seems like there's nothing I can really do about it but hope.

I plan on getting Resonance of Fate and Final Fantasy XIII soon.

I have a friend who's finished RoF on Zenith Mode (lol) and he says that while the battle system is excellent in that it greatly rewards good strategy, the storyline is fairly mediocre. I'm keen for a good battle system in an RPG so I'm looking forward to this game.

I'm really reluctant to try FFXIII but I've heard that it's actually a decent game so I'm gonna give it a shot. I've lost interest in the Final Fantasy series for a while now but my interest has been rekindled.

I am excited for MvC3 too Ryu Shimazu, in fact it's going to become my main game over Brawl.

I would say rent/borrow FFXIII, if you're interested in playing it. Then if you really like it, buy it. Only saying that because it's really hit or miss for most people.

Resonance of Fate is awesome, but so hard. ;-;

I should really finish it.

FFXIII isn't as bad as people say, it's just...linear. I like the story :D

^ As for MvC... I'm excited, but also a bit upset. It's been so long since I've played a real fighter (execute combos, etc), that.. I'm terrible. I'm downright terrible. I can't even clear Arcade mode on SSFIV on Medium difficulty w/o losing a lot.

I'm getting better, but it's taking time D:

I'm hoping by the time MvC comes out I'll be better for it D:

i agree wit this
FFXIII isn't a bad game its just not like final fantasy games. the pardigam(sp) system is really great and if the game weren't so linear it would be up there with the best ones
basically if you don't enjoy the story you don't enjoy the game very much.

i'm excited for mvc3 but at the same time idk what to think about the whole 3d on 2d thing. i like SSFIV but i like 3rd Strike better, you get what i mean?
i think mvc being 2D graphically would benefit it better. it could work well too since games like blazblue and arcana heart pull it off well.
