i unretired 5ish months ago, and actually started seriously trying. i didnt have a competitive game to fill the void, so i went back. that is no longer the case (i play mechwarrior online in a group now) so its unlikely ill be going to any tourneys (unless there is a hype 4) until smash 4

and retired does not mean never go to any tourneys ever and never enter. kaylo retired, and did both for a little while :p

and yes it was fishbait. he did not seem to know the pikachu matchup at all. he also SD'd last stock game 3 when we were both at 60ish percent. felt real bad that it ended that way

No smash player ever really retires imo, ksizzle still goes to plenty of tourneys, and Armada is going to Evo, I think smash is way too much fun to just drop entirely

Congrats, Stealf!

What? I never entered after I retired. In fact, I stopped entering way before I considered myself retired, lol. I just go to big nationals to hang out (and drink).

I guess you can count the 25 cent mm with Bobby if you really need to support your case. x.o

Semi-retirement is the new retirement. Light 'em up, Stealth.

I just go to big nationals to hang out (and drink).
At some point I hope to go to a national just to do this.
Odds are not fantastic at present.

This is fitting.
I saw a movie called Red I think, CIA guy that was retired.
You can be retired and still have the moves while being a badass.

For this case, you can be retired and still go to tournaments and watch. But if you play, you're basically out of retirement.

Oh wow, I didn't realise how important that mm really was. If I knew the true gravitas of the situation I probably would have cracked under the pressure.

It's a good thing you didn't though.

They're making a sequel to Red which is due by the end of the summer movie season iirc.

Homies are like good shades.

They never go unappreciated, but you can have multiples.

Well I do have quite a few now.

Always appreciated is perhaps debatable, but so far I think I've got eight kudos out of eleven. That's not a bad track record.

It only gives you alerts if you haven't replied or visited since the last unread post. You can still check for new posts under watched threads.

So, earlier today my friends and I started playing Melee and killed ourselves multiple times after an air dodge sent us into freefall. After an hour or two, we went back to playing Brawl and both tried to wavedash at least once (surprise, it didn't work). Anyone else have this problem? No? Just us? Okay.

The lack of air dodging in N64 wasn't a problem though, because we spent the entire time playing Kirby mirror matches on Dreamland and essentially only used down air.

I've also realized that my Pikachu, despite being my "main", is one of my worst characters. I lose games with Pikachu, but win consistently when I select Random. It could just be that my friends know how I play Pikachu, though.

I tried playing 64 once semi-recently and failed miserably. Kept trying to do stuff that didn't exist back then. But I'm sure if you played multiple Smash games all the time, you'd get used to it eventually. /shrug

I had posted in here beforehand and stopped getting alerts randomly.
I think the alert thing is just buggy. I would get random alerts, sometimes none at all, sometimes a bunch from the same thread. Eventually I turned them off.

#NewSmashboards is right, I still majorly dislike the new forum.

Alerts works fine for me.
It only gives you alerts if you haven't replied or visited since the last unread post. You can still check for new posts under watched threads.
Clarified as it only gives you one alert per thread and no more until you load the last page of the thread.
And if you're in a thread, the bottom left pop up alerts don't pop up for other threads that have an alert.
If http://www.smashbros.com/us/ wasn't my browser's homepage, then http://smashboards.com/watched/threads would be.

Otherwise yeah it's somewhat of an user-unfriendly system

I don't like how my text editor bugs out sometimes. Like how it likes to not show line breaks that're really there, or add extra spoiler boxes when I only have one pair of collapse tags. (no)

Anyways, off to Orlando! I'll see you guys next Tuesday. <3 Enjoy your 4th of July celebrations!

That Fin and Jake sprite is totally awesome.

Sometimes it shrinks my text and some portions of the post lose their custom color.

Seconded. That sprite's badass, Vy.

Just to chime in, occasionally the editor adds in or removes whitespace when I do a large INPO. Since my formatting beyond that is minimal I don't tend to have much issue, though.

Also incredibly jealous of the Florida trip. Have fun out there Klo.

Florida for #1 on state tier list. It has... trees! and grass! and retired people!
And Disneyland/other tourist attractions but nobody cares about those.

If you wanna #NewSmashboards ,try posting in the Houston thread. It's not that buggy otherwise. Y'all need more one-liners.

So ironic cause my family is in FL right now seeing my Uncle, Aunt, & Grandma. I would've been nearby (city-wise) if I flew down today.
