I am going to Connecticon, an annual gaming/anime convention. It takes place this Friday through Sunday but Friday night there is a Brawl doubles tournament at 6pm. Pretty bad timing, I know, but I would like to know if anyone else can make it out there. They have a website, facebook and twitter for this event.

For my birthday today, instead of waking up at around 10:00 AM and playing Super Smash Brothers [64/Melee/Brawl] all day, I decided to wake up at 1:00 AM and play SSB[64/M/B] all day. Radically different.

Well the Connecticon tournament has ended. It was a 2v2 tournament only. There were at least 20 teams (quite possibly more- it was a 6 round bracket, though there were some byes which we didn't get) and my team made it to the grand finals with FataI and Dark (sp? He's primarily a melee player) but we lost to them. It was my first tourney since 2011 and I guess I made an impression. I have no regrets. We took 2nd place and I went Pika the whole time. I had a blast.

Dear Diary,
Day 2 of Connecticon. There was a spontaneous Brawl singles tournament. I helped out yet again with my wii set up and was rewarded with a $25 Gamestop gift card but lost my black controller so that counteracts that... On the bright side I got 4th in the tournament. I watched FataI defeat Darc after a grueling grand finals. After which, I requested friendlies with FataI. He's a nice guy to chat with. Looks tremendously taller than he actually is when sitting down. Anyway, I only very narrowly lost to his Metaknight. The Snake was a bit more potent against me. I suppose for entering tournaments again after a 2.5 year hiatus, I can't really complain. Who knows how far I could reach. After that set, I proceeded to decimate other random tourney goers until I left. Overall productive day.
