I still doubt that Hodi is the main bad guy. I'm relatively certain we haven't seen the big bad boss of this arc. cause this is moving pretty fast and we still have to see what comes of shirley's prediction.

Currently, the two prime enemies are Hordy and Deken. Deken looks like he's on a fixed trail to run into Luffy/Sanji. Then there is that other dude they put in the barrel, but he escaped. Personally, Franky put him in the barrel, so it would be justice he's the one who owns him again lol.

Big Mam is supposed to have taken over the protecting of Fishman Island now that Whitebeard is dead, she may become involved and would then be the biggest threat toward whomever is her enemy

i personally think zoro has never been too far behind luffy. this is debatable though. the main way to compare them is through their opponents, and i think luffy's opponents BY FAR outweigh zoro's... however, this time, decken and hodi seemed to be presented on equal terms. the main difference now seems to be fruit vs fruit (luffy and decken), brute force vs brute force (hodi vs zoro)

luffy lucci, zoro kaku
i think this fight alone shows the difference in the power between luffy and zoro. They gave us power lvls of these two villains and lucci was far far stronger then kaku, clearly zoro who only somewhat edged out kaku would not of been able to beat lucci. i dont have much time or i would explain better but i think this gets the point across. Also i just want to add near the point were they got seprated it seemed to me that zoro noticed he was falling behind. Now after the time skip i think zoro has gotten closer to luffy much like how they were early on.

hm, yeah, from the comparisions i agree with you. zoro reminds me of a vegeta/piccolo type character, where he constantly trains in order to keep up with the main character's natural talent. now that they have both trained extrensively, i see them being more even after the time skip, each with different strengths. zoro can cut and swim, luffy has haki and a fruit.

Zoro probably has haki too...just not sure which one.

i think zoro has attack haki at least. i also think him being able to cut steel or iron or whichever was some early signs of haki from him. i mean the whole feeling things breath or whatever he said (been a long time since i looked at the crocodile arc). anyway i wouldn't be surprised if he had all types of haki even if hes not as good as luffy at them, also he should the kings haki in a anime episode (it was filler but i feel like oda would not of let them do that unless he was ok with it)

One of two things is going to happen with Zoro vs. Hodi.

It's either a fake-out and Hodi's gonna do some pretty brutal hax pwnage, or it's a good thing to note that Zoro didn't just spend all of his time training with the swordsman he's sworn to surpass one day, only to get owned.

As shoddy as it is to see that Hodi could be beaten so quickly and easily, if it DOES turn out that way, it doesn't make the training everyone underwent seem pointless. Kickass.

if hodi lost that easily i think it would be to show the training they underwent had huge rewards and now they are all much stronger.

Honestly I'd really hate to see Zoro get worfed. It happened to him before (Mihawk, Arlong, Enel etc.) but this time it just wouldn't seem right. Zoro has just been training with Mihawk for two years, and now I feel it's the time to show how bada** he's become.

If he's "faking out" and Hodi bounces back with pills, Zoro only used one sword. It would either still be too easy for Zoro or, at a stretch, it would be close to even

Ugh, Sanji should just die or be unconscious for the rest of the arc. That would be a great joke. Missing out on all the mermaid action.

Did I miss something? Why doesn't Zoro have a air bubble?

lets hope it lasts less than 2 chapters
I'd be absolutely stunned if the flashback was so short. This is huge. We're finally seeing the story of Arlong, Fisher Tiger, Fishmen Island and the discrimination so prevalent in the OP world. I expect a long flashback. I don;t mind it either. If it's anything less than 4 chapters I'll be pretty surprised
