To be honest, that statement works for Bowser too. He's on the lower half of the tier list, sure, we know that he's "bad" in the sense that he's with the lower portion of the characters, that he doesn't have much representation too... But think about it this way: there are probably such few Bowser mains, that the metagame revolves around few playstyles. Maybe since Bowser's a character that only has very few playstyles, learning how to play against him once will be enough to beat him afterwards. The higher tiered characters are higher tiered because they're better, their key trait being that they can be used in a variety of ways thus leaving your opponent guessing, the characters aren't one-dimensional. That's where Bowser fails at, and due to this, you can play against a Bowser enough times once, and now you won't have to fear losing against him (as long as it's not a disadvantaged MU, or you're not counterpicking him).

I assume you disagree with me believing that Link beats Lucas. I would like you to make the first argument as to why. At any rate my opinion is partly influenced by KirinBlaze, who from my recollection does very well in that matchup.

But I"m a bit disappointed with ICs drop, and confused why Wario jumped up.

Wario is too good, I kinda saw the ICs drop in the way. The only problem Wario has is lack of range( but he compensates it with his awesome Air movement) and Grab releases but with his movement he can just play campy and smart an evade grabs ( not 100% of the times but he's awesome at evading stuff) he have awesome ways to kill, good dmg racker, awesome in teams, he's great in almost all stages. ICs are awesome too don't get me wrong, their desynchs, Chaingrabs 0-death, Uair and more stuff. I won't write an essay about it LOL.

My only issue with the tier list: Zelda/Shiek is above Sonic and Ike, while Shiek is below those two. I found it hard to believe Zelda contributed enough to bump over Sonic and Ike

I wanted to be the first wario to comment! I really don't know who should be above who, if Zelda/Sheik or Ike. IDK I am biased since I dislike Sonic as a whole. so I can't really talk about that.

i think pikachu is still too high, outside of esam i dont think i've heard of any pika main placing well recently. :/ glad rob dropped though.

Fox finally got what he deserved

the Top tier list is great. The Diddy/Falco/Wario stuff, In my heart they are just even with each other when it comes to tier position.

Ike he finally got out of LT.

and Bring the old hyrule tier back.

This still falls under popularity, you know. Since lots of people main Snake, people have been learning the matchup at a faster rate than Snake has been learning other matchups.

We've always known Snake has problems while landing though. learning the MU means that you no longer have as many problems as before, when following Snake's landing trajectory. His weaknesses get magnified because you now know exactly what to go for, but that doesn't make Snake a worse character. :\

Could you imagine how Falco would be if we found an exploitable weakness, and could abuse it (string some hits, knock offstage, prevent from returning, gg's... But we could do this better due to being able to play lots of falcos at every tourney)? What about Diddy, what would happen (control bananas the same way, or better, than Diddy, due to being able to play lots of diddies at every tourney)? It really is something that affects our views on a character.

As a legitimate response (though still hoping for Best Tier, G Tier or Gangsta Tier for Ganondorf), I definitely love this list.

One thing that's great is that guys like Ike got a respectable push and the mid-tiers themselves feel how they should be. They should definitely be the biggest of the tiers and I like that, though I'm surprised a bit how some characters didn't move into high tier. ZSS as a high tier addition was a great move.

Fox moving up definitely was a good choice. I think it feels like a lot more than it really was because not only did Fox move up, but he did at a time when a lot of the tiers moved and merged. So, Fox moved up a bit, but that put him into what ended up being that D tier split and pushed him into C tier because of it, though in reality the push wasn't as huge as it seems to be. Overall, good choice.

I'm still curious to see how prevalent Zelda/Sheik will be and how people will judge if it's been a Zheik usage in-game for results. Does someone who goes Sheik the entire match only to switch to Zelda at the end of the last stock count as Zheik? Does this character actually get recognized as its own character on the results at all? Does it even get its own character discussions and board?

Other than that, good stuff. Worth the wait.

Out of curiosity. Why did Wolf not go up based on current tournament results (like 2 Wolfs being in top 50 for tourneys). Wolfs have won tourneys and shown up multiple times in top 8. His matchups are relatively all even albeit a few which are no worst then 40-60. He is very good vs Mk and Diddy. I think he is at least bottom C tier.

My only thought would be to switch Yoshi and Pokemon Trainer. Those two are really on the fence in considering them low tier.

Biggest Fall: Zelda. No surprise there.

Sure, the gap between Link and Jiggs is slightly smaller than between Zelda and Ganondorf, but the three really are in an awful class of their own.
