I wonder if Jfox got M2K's number.

Also I agree with both of them... if I notice the opponent missing a lot of techs I may use uair, though nairing across would be my choice 99% of the time.

Hey, can anyone give me some help on the match-up vs. Jiggs? I didn't see a link to the match-up on the first page.

All I do right now is camp in shield and wait for something laggy and try to nair out of shield. I also dash attack a lot

You have to spam the frick out of turnips vs good Jiggs to be able to do anything/approach. Nairs out of shield rarely present themselves unless the Jiggs mis-spaces/isn't constantly bair spacing like a good Jiggs.

Dash attacks aren't usually a good idea because the second you miss one and hit a shield, they can rest out of shield. I guess it's okay at %s less than like, 15, though.

The rest is a slow tedious grind to getting jiggs to 90% and slapping/nairing her.

and I'm sorry Cog, I don't give advice to hispanic Peaches. They're a complete different character that I don't play/despise.

This match-up info is making me sad.

So, would the best turnip spamming approach be to dcj throw them. Like jump away, then towards + a. Or away, away + c-stick towards?

I assume standing still and camp spamming is not what you meant, Cort, but maybe not. I will try to record tomorrow and show you more specifically what I am doing. In the mean time, I'll be studying this vid of yours

I may end up just having to go with marth or fox in this match-up though... we'll see.

edit: Oh, wow, those PC videos are pretty good material, Samochan. Thanks.

I don't play against much Jiggs except for like Mango's once in a while so let me try to help you out with what I can. Consider this an add on to Cort's advice on the match up.

Your best turnip approach would be turnip -> FC Nair. In fact, Nairs should be your main aerial approach vs Jiggs. Try not to approach with Fairs too much because the Jiggs can Fair you out of your attack. The start up of Peach's Fair is a bit slow. Nairs work best.

FC Bairs also work well for zoning in.

Every chance you get to pull a turnip, DO IT! Turnips are your main way of getting in.

Shield a lot in this match. Run up shield is a good idea. If the opportunity presents itself, FC Bair/Nair out of shield. If the Jiggs is spacing well and the opportunity doesn't present itself, then WD back out of shield or roll away.

Dash attacks are usually a bad idea in this match up because you can get rested out of shield BUT the Jiggs is vulnerable to them when she is in the air. Keep that in mind.

Fsmashes are somewhat useful as well, and the jiggs is vulnerable to them when she is approaching from above/the air. Another thing to keep in mind.

Don't spam Dsmash too much. Dsmashes work best after you FC into their shield. But otherwise, use them carefully.

And finally, when you are at low percents, watch out for an Utilt or an Uair. They lead to easy rest combos which is really GAY lol.

Well, that's all that really comes to mind at the moment. Hope it helped. Oh! and here is a good match between Mango's Puff and PC's Peach at Pound 3. You'll learn a great deal from this match ^_^

Hey Cort, is double-jumping then down-smashing useful out of shields? If so, when would it be usable? If not...why?

Actually, DJ dsmash is much faster and effective in certain situations than WD out of shield. Many high level players actually watch to see you put up your shield when they are pressuring you, and just shielding and than instantly cancelling the shield is a nice little trick. Also, when you are on a platform, people usually wait for peach to dsmash. If you put up a shield, than instantly dsmash out of it, they will jump right into the dsmash, cuz they think its safe since your shielding.

In general, DJ cancelling your shield is the fastest way out of shield. I've been working on implementing it into my game for a while. Its one of those things everyone has known about for years, but everyone is just too lazy to use.

hey sorry to ask probably a bad question but when i'm facing my friend who plays a great zelda, he always seems to knock me back so far when i shield his powerful short hop lightening kick

this makes it difficult to shield grab and such

any good tips for fighting zelda?

Zelda's Fairs/ Bairs are her spacing tools. even though she's a terrible character, those aerials keep her safe from sheild grabbing.

Peach >> Zelda. Gain the height advangtage and fight her like she's jigglypuff. Float Dairs > Nair/ Uair, standard turnip approaches. Fthrow off stage at every chance. punish her silly recovery with charged Usmashes @ high Percents or just Nair so that she doesn't touch the ground. (Why do I know the Zelda match up?? LOL)

To DJ cancel do you just hit jump twice quickly? Or is there timing?

Also, how fast is it?
