To DJ cancel do you just hit jump twice quickly? Or is there timing?

Also, how fast is it?

Quick lesson on the peach's "jump cancel". First, how it works.

Peach's double jump first goes down before it goes up. So when you jump from the ground, than quickly do a double jump, the double jump will push you back down into the ground and you will land. You will see peach do a quick stutter motion looking like she is about to jump, and all of a sudden she is back in standing position.

To perform, simply press X or Y in quick succession (I suggest you don't use Up on the control stick simply because it will hinder your ability to move or attack quickly after the jump cancel. It has to be fast enough that you don't ever get off the ground before the double jump input.

Uses:

When you shield, there is a slight lag between dropping the shield and putting out an attack. (Notice how in brawl people can attack out of their shields faster because there is less shield drop lag) In order to get out of a shield without going through the shield drop lag, people jump out. Now because peach is the only character with a jump cancel, she can technically get out of shield faster than any other character because of this technique.

When this technique is done out of a shield, some call it a "shield cancel" (SC). You can SC dsmash, you can SC fsmash, you can even just SC in to a dash attack, or even just start running.

dthrow chains vs bowser doesn't it? also space bairs, and fairs, if you get to close with aerials he can bowser shine out of them (his up b) try to hit him off the edge low, then hover for a bair edgeguard or drop and ledgehog if you think he will try and sweetspot, if you call it wrong and he does sweet spot shield when you land cause his getup attack goes really far, then you can do a nair OoS or you can grab if you were facing him. Stay below him because his uair *****.

Yeah, it takes about 1 match to get used to playing against Gimpy, and then it's not difficult at all. It's Bowser afterall.

lol vanz. every char in the game has a chance at winning depending on the player. chu occasionally won tournies with yoshi, kirby, and pichu lol. the match-up is just heavily in our favor

When you're grabbed and have a turnip in hand is there a way to immediately release it when thrown?
I always thought there was but I just tried to a bunch of different ways and I couldn't get it to immediately release consistently. It'll do it randomly sometimes as thrown but in most cases I have to wait till the hitstun is gone before I can drop it.

pretty sure u cant do it til after hitstun is over. if it gets knocked out of you hands thats different, but i dont think the drop has special properties and can over-ride hitstun.

than again i could be totally wrong
