Don't really think those will be enhanced by 3D as much. A walking boar thing with a giant spear charging at you, a tunnel that's meant to distort your vision, these are the first things I thought of when I heard about the game being in 3D.
With Jabu-Jabu you'd have the walls pulsating and what not and for the Shadow Temple you'd have all sorts of things like the rotating sythes, the creepy faces on the walls, and not to mention the mini-boss. I can see what you're saying but I think, overall, Jabu-Jabu and the Shadow Temple would have their atmospheres most affected by the introduction of 3D elements.

The 3DS 3D isn't the "whoa it's like it's coming out of the screen at me!" so much as it gives the screen a sense of depth...kinda like looking through a window, rather than a screen.

I could be wrong though, and they might be able to implement stuff like that.

No, you're right. Apparently you'll be able to adjust how much "3D" is actually presented, even going so far as to play strictly in 2D. A nice feature for those who might suffer motion sickness.

confirmed. Sending Supplies.
If everything is redesigned based on the concept art, I can't wait to see what some of the enemies will look like.

Leevers will look like this instead of big green blobs.

3D Redeads are going to make me crap myself. I just beat OoT and they still scare me.

I don't understand the interview, it says that its just a tech demo, but then they go on to say things like:

Aonuma is quickly back onto Ocarina on 3DS, saying that it should make some of the tougher parts of the game easier; the Water Temple, for example, because with the touch-screen things like changing boots are a lot quicker and easier.
Even more, Nintendo of America annoucned it as a game, and what is it doing on the section of Nintendo DSi games if its NOT a full game? I'm detecting shenanigans here.

It would be too cruel to not make it now.
I have to buy a 3DS now.

I thought the 3D was "Woah! It's popping out at me!"
Those were some of the comments that the people testing the 3DS at E3 were giving, and I read something about half of the pixels for the top screen being for each eye or something (similar to shifting images on cards?)

Could be wrong though. :\

3D is more than things popping out at you. Its about things existing on a 3D plane, which adds an entirely new sense of immersion I find when watching 3D movies at the theaters.

To be honest, I'm more excited for the OoT remake than Skyward Sword.

Same to an extent. Skyward Sword could mark the Skyward uprise in Zelda's sales, but this 3DS just sold itself for me. I want to see MM remake, playing it on VC right now and I love it to death.

Really? Why? You probably own the game already and can play it literally any time. The graphics seem to be about PSP level and...well, it's the same game.
He has a point.

I actually think the only reason why I'm going to buy it is because I don't own a copy of OoT anymore and I want to see what they do with it in the remake.

I doubt I'll be able to afford a 3DS for several years, but I just restarted OoT in honor of this announcement. I am en route to Jabu Jabu right now.

Are the majority of Zelda fans pansies? OoT was not scary. At all...
I was 8 years old when it came out and I played it for the first time. 2D games did not scare me, but 3D was still new, so in that dimension, things like ReDeads and the Forest Temple were terrifying. Seeing these horrific zombies walking towards you (and they could due to the 3D plane) was scary. OoT was revolutionary because it attached us to Link in such a simulatingly realistic way like never before, so his foes became much more enticing and threatening than ever before.

Ah K. My first Zelda was OoT cause I'm a young'un, but I still don't recall ever being scared by it, even in my youth. Like you said though, could just be the fact that 3D was new and stuff. I was boring in '96 so...

So true! I was but a little kid when it came out. I remember after I beat the Deku Tree and I could venture ot into Hyrule Field I was going towards the castle- but then night came and those skeletons came out of the ground and scared the **** out of me! I actually turned off the game and stopped playing it for a few months. I then decided to play it again. It still scared me to an extent but I played through it lol.

But then the Shadow Temple showed up......:scared:

Wind Waker was the scariest one for me. And it wasn't a terrifying kind of scare either. But I just did not want to jump down into pits. Especially if there was a Redead around.

Especially in the dark when they just plainly stared at you.

The Forest Temple is terrifying. Have you listened to the music? There is a voice that sounds like some guy is being beat or something. It's a very ominous atmosphere. It's dark, foggy, and filled with ghosts.

Redead are so freaky. They have tons of health, too! The loud scream is just demoralizing (and literally paralyzing).

Of course no one is suggesting that Zelda rivals actual horror games, but if other fans are any bit like me, we don't play those hardcore scary games because we're sissies, and even Zelda can be scary... That's just me. XD
