also consider that at least it still has an entire backlog of ds games to play, and I wonder if you can use the 3ds's analog stick for old ds games...

Almost definitely not, I imagine it would be a 1:1 conversion, just like GBA games on DS, or GB/C on GBA.

Jazz -- Keep in mind "PAL" and "NTSC" isn't really a thing in terms of handhelds, since they have their own screens, so releases would just depend on the local market. I guess we should feel lucky that in terms of region locking we've been lumped together with Europe, though.

That said, I sure am glad I always intended to get the Japanese system, they always have an abundance of titles.
