No sides here, but I do like entertaining leaks if only because they bring good discussions every now and then.

Honestly I'm just scratching my head trying to think of a Chun-li Spirit Board, We have most of the cast from a good variety of games, and we pretty much have all of the main stays, Obviously there are a few they can use so it's not completely devoid of content. but unlike Byleth who had a whole games worth of content to have or Sephiroth who is honestly just making up for missed opportunities. Chun-li doesn't have that but that's not to say she is impossible, just something worth thinking about.
Music is easy though, It's a crime that there are no SFV songs.

My theory is that Lloyd and Yuri were placeholders for until Sakurai decided on which one he'd go with. My other theory is that they were intentionally pushed off to DLC to see if Tales of Berseria would do well, to see if Velvet would be a viable option as well. Seeing as Berseria was largely met with praise, it's possible that Velvet could be chosen as DLC now that the test has been successful.

I sat through that whole thing, and I have to say.
The fact that Sephiroth can destroy the entire Solar System and make the sun swell to devour Mercury, Venus, and Earth shows that he is truly a powerful being.
Aika becomes standalone DLC on Halloween 2023. There is your Animal Crossing rep, and your first and only fanwork rep. She's like Villager but everything also has a whack/thwack effect stacked onto it. Don't look at me, the budget ran out. Now go home.

Fun theory but I think it is way more likely they would just go with the safest option, which is Lloyd.

If a big part of Chun Li isn't SF2 but SF3, I could see an emphasis on SF3.

Oh we have two: Yun and Yang (as a single spirit) and Ibuki. There's more than enough room to work with more SF3 characters, maybe even some from latter games like C. Viper.
Hell, there isn't a single song outside of Street Fighter IItm at all.

I don't even want the Trainer we have NOW. I damn sure don't want another.

This is gonna sound weird
But I'm Pretty sure the Reimu/KOS-MOS/Crash leak is fake, Because I'm Sure (But it's not confirmed) that Crash is not Playable
And for the Ryu/Rayman/Doomguy leak, With the DOOM interview and Vault Boy mii costume, I don't think Doomguy happening either
and even if Chun-Li/Tales of leak is real, dosn't mean they in DLC

Sorry SharkLord, but I don't know how well that works when Berseria was a 2016/2017 game depending on region. They would have known over a year before Ultimate even came out. If you're thinking they were holding off the character for DLC regardless and they were thinking about Velvet, I don't see why Yuri would be in the equation at all.
If you're thinking they were originally going to have the character in base game, I guess I could see the logic. I don't know why they would have been held off this long, though.

Predicting one of four Hero alts, Steve, and Sephiroth is pretty impressive, but I'm still not convinced it's
more than luck. All three of those franchises are pretty popular in Japan, so it's possible this person simply liked DQ, FF, and Minecraft and went with logical choices.

I think the main mistake SharkLord made here is forgetting to add Kurt Angle to the mix.

Like we said, it's just something to keep an eye on and to speculate on in the meantime. If, and only if, the Monster Hunter costumes come in March, because I think we can all agree that the next character will come at the latest by March, then we'll know one way or another if it's fake or not.

Now that's a difficult one: which character do you think is most likely to ever get in Smash? Scorpion or Gordon Freeman? Remember: Scorpion belongs to a franchise that was born in a Nintendo console, but was banned in Japan for its extreme violence and Gordon belongs to a company that never had any collaboration with Nintendo, but received eulogies from Sakurai. "None" is not an answer, you have to choose one.

One thing I find funny is that both the Chun Li/Tales of leak and the Rayman/Ryu/Doom leak are both 100% accounted for on that big, 40 name list.

Gordon Freeman, Sakurai has mentioned the game before and actually there has been a Valve game on Nintendo
Gordon Freeman is just as influential as Doom or Quake, Half-life was a masterclass in pushing technology and storytelling in First Person Shooters.
Half-life Survivor is even a Japanese exclusive Arcade game so the Market is there and sorta big
so it is not only influential but is also popular worldwide

It's not even the only Valve arcade game. Counter-Strike has had two, and Left 4 Dead 2 got turned into Left 4 Dead: Survivors.

So, I've been playing around in Training Mode, and I found out that Sephiroth and Alucard have the exact same running speed. And their running animation is near identical.
I just find that fascinating given how similar the two are. It almost seems intentional.
Also, Octaslash seems to be very similar to Alucard's Vampire Bat tackle. Which could have easily functioned as a multi-directional recovery attack.
