A double reveal will result in a much longer wait for the release, while a single reveal will result in a shorter wait. Considering they've been working from home since March, and they've yet to change the supposed end date, or even mention delays, I seriously doubt that.


Unless they walk into some seriously massive, unknown problem going forward which no one can account for, the pass will be done before 2021 ends.

I'm saying the actual event of E3 itself. I also highly doubt that we would have extensive wait times for releases any more, as the last four DLC characters were released in the same month they were revealed (not counting the ARMS teaser in March).

Actually, Terry was revealed in September.

I'd also like to point out that Min Min had the explanation of being delayed due to her unique control scheme, so we can say that she has a reason instead of just "She was delayed because that's just what they're doing now." I have a sneaking suspicion that Steve's stage frickery forced him to be delayed, and he took the rest of the pass with him so the gap between him and Min Min wouldn't be too long, but that's just a guess and hasn't been confirmed or denied.

I feel like Steve might've been delayed a little because of the Minecon. They explicitly asked for more time for Min Min, so I assume they'd do the same for Steve if that was the case.

I agree nothing inherently stops them from having multiple trailers. I will, however, point out that Bayo 3 was pretty overtly treated as a Nintendo thing when it was revealed, being personally introduced by Reggie as something Nintendo had in the works.

Bayo 3 seems to be in the position Bayo 2 was where Sega holds the license to the overall IP, but Nintendo seems to be the one driving development, owning the game-specific rights and effectively running the show. Sega probably just gets paid a cut and leaves everything else to Nintendo and Platinum.

And as for DLC timing, it seems like the reveals took a hit (as I would postulate under normal circumstances Steve would likely have been revealed at E3, and FP8 would be known by now), but the actual releases were probably only shifted back marginally - maybe a month or so.

So unless there are some real aberrations, I would still expect a character roughly every three to four months for the rest of the pass. Which doesn't really diverge much from what was expected beforehand.

Are characters' new releases and anniversaries less so confirmation/hints that they're getting in (and a chance to rag on people with this mentality) and moreso an opportunity to discuss a particular character or two in Smash?

Zagreus from Hades had been brought up a couple times. But that’s a grey area since that game had a public alpha (?) in 2018.

There’s also Jin Sakai from Ghost of Tsushima. He has some cool moves that would make him stand out from his realistic appearance.

Tbh Zaggy would be counted as 2020 judging by Steve.

I have a similar expectation. Byleth and Min Min was the biggest gap and there are numerous factors to likely explain that. A reveal every 90/100 days (with releases following a similar pattern) isn't too long a wait while still giving a decent amount of time for development.

Plus a finish around October 2021 would allow Nintendo a big window to highlight the second fighter's pass (with all characters) for holiday deals.

But seriously tho they knew that Nintendo is always has been casual friendly company unlike Sony so I already see this situation happening from miles away cause other than the fans and players of the game that is above the age of 12 you don't see moms and dads and their children complaining about a Smash tournament or throw a tantrum for not buying all of Nintendo's product because of that which is ironic considering that's their main demographic. Tho if this still goes on might as well stop making any fighting game or multiplayer shooter game since it's for the better.

I had a dream about Reimu joining Smash once, though I don't remember it too much, I think that it was just a regular scenario.

A dream about Smash that I do remember is when Sakurai said "here is the new character", only for it to show a black screen, before it dezoomed into showing that it was Xehanort in his goat armor, with the reason as to why it was this Xehanort joining that Sakurai though that he looked funny. Oh, and also there was like 20+ songs, including Simple and Clean and Sanctuary.

A couple months ago, I dreamt that fighter 8 was this hovering legless robot named Infiltrator. He apparently hailed from the Advance Wars series

It was apparently a big deal too cuz A: it meant dormant series were on the table. And B: the dude was apparently a villain, the first for the sole rep of a series.

My smash dreams are usually a lot more straightforward than that. So it was interesting to a have feverish one for once

My weirdest (and only particularly weird that i can remember) Smash dream was back in the base game days, I wanna say it was post-Isabelle? but basically there was a new trailer.

It was a new cinematic, and very fast-paced with its reveals, IIRC. The new characters just showed up, didn't get any splash screens or introductions, and there they went. It started off with the usual fare at the time, Skull Kid, Bandana Dee (I 'member being super happy at him in particular since I was a hardcore Dee supporter at the time), Isaac, the works. But the next character after them.....was ****ing Monika from Doki Doki Literature Club. After her, followed an entire wave of generic, nameless, faceless anime girls revealed one after another in extremely rapid succession, and thanks once again to the trailer having no gameplay or not giving any character an introduction of any kind, I was completely befuddled at what I had witnessed and got no time to process any of it. (sidenote, Viridi might have been somewhere in there in the middle of the trailer???? It was two years ago, gimme a break)

The final shot of the dream was me looking in horror at the recently-edited Smash wiki. Unfortunately, I can't remember exactly what was on there, so that'll stay a riddle for the ages.

All my other Smash dreams have been pretty normal all things considered, but this one in particular was simply bizarre. Kinda wish I got more weird Smash dreams, to be completely honest.

It's not like he's completely wrong.
If anything Nintendo is "for all the family". That's the best way to describe it IMO.

Also I'm guessing part of his statement comes from the fact that Yakuza 1 & 2 HD sold poorly on the Wii U. But at the same time the Wii U wasn't really succesful, and said release of Yakuza 1 and 2 was Japan only as far as I know.

He also initially thought Yakuza wasn't going to appeal to the Western audience and here we are. Maybe he will change his mind in the future but yeah, unless he's trolling or something, which wouldn't surprise me because of how he acts, I'm not expecting them to put Yakuza games on the Switch any time soon.
