I will say though on League, If it Did get into smash, would be kind of a Gamble for Nintendo to take. To my Knowledge League of Legends being on Consoles is very Recent, And that might also extend to other MOBAs.

So this would mean there's little Background data and how well Games like League do with Nintendo Audiences, which is something that I don't think any of the 3rd parties ever have faced. Even With Joker, which while Persona was barely on Nintendo Platforms, Shin Megami Tensi is on Nintendo Platforms is known to have a Audience. It's also probably why Reggie or Sakurai mention the relationship between Shin Megami Tensi and Nintendo in regards to Persona in Smash

I think with Steve in FP2, Nintendo could afford to take Gambles, especially with Something as Popular as League anyway
Maybe so, but considering how big League is, there's a decent chance it would pay off. Arguably, it's less advertising League to Nintendo audiences and more about selling Smash to League players.

For anybody who thinks the Game Awards might have another Smash reveal, I figured I'd give you all a heads up:

There was a problem fetching the tweet

How much you guys wanna bet TLOU2 is gonna get a ridiculous amount of nominations?
I don’t exactly see the correlation between this and thinking Smash will have a reveal there (which I’m admittedly a bit iffy on), but I won’t dent that this is what Naughty Dog is gonna be saying to us:

On topic of Shadow of The Colossus, a stage where you fight on top of one of the collosi would be absolutely killer. I'm honestly surprised they never used that (or anything SotC for that matter) in PSASBR
At the same time, how do you make them feel full of life instead of fancy statues? Part of the atmosphere is them moving around when climbing imo

PSASBR is Missed Opportunities: The Game

no Lara? No Crash? The Dart from Legend of Dragoon DLC canceled? Yeah...

at least the mechanic of combining stages was pretty neat

How about making it like a travelling stage? Instead of a platform moving around, you can make it so that the colossus moves around and the fighters fall/climb to different parts of it.

Not sure if it's in line with the original game but it's doable.

The 16th colossus is a giant Tower that could work as a travelling stage. you would just travel upwards

This would be an awesome stage with top tier music.

That's kind of what I was thinking they'd do. It already looks perfect for being turned into a platforming stage, and there'd be a lot going on.

EDIT: I think with this one, you also wouldn't have to worry about climbing mechanics, which is good because ladders kind of suck.

I'm'a gonna flip a table if TLoU: Part II even gets one nomination...

I'm'a gonna flip another table if Maneater doesn't earn any nominations.

TLOU2 will be nominated, that much is certain

whether it wins is another story, and hopefully it won’t win

Sakurai: "To capture the feeling of the original game, this fighter will be the biggest character in the roster: bigger than bosses like Master Hand or Dracula. Please understand."

I know nothing about Shadow of the Colossus.
Go and play it, whether the original on PS3 or the remake on PS4. Seriously, it's a great experience.

That aside, the fighter would be the character, Wander or The Wanderer, the swordsman in the photo. While in my favoured scenario, the first Colossus would be a new Boss to go alongside Wander.
Seriously, my dream trailer for Wander would be to have Mario and a bunch of other characters fighting in the Forbidden Lands, only for the earth to start shaking as Valus, the first Colossus appears, with Grotesque Figures starting up, than Valus is revealed as a boss, than after the characters have fought against Valus for a bit, Wander gets Valus' attention with Flash Arrows and is revealed as the playable character. It starts playing "The Opened Way", showing off Wander's moveset, then showcases the forbidden Lands stage, showing off the areas and the Colossi in the stage and then eventually goes to Wander fighting against Valus, and mimics how you fought against Valus in the game, and then it shows a special Down Smash animation for Wander when he gets to the symbol on his head.

It'd be best for Forbidden Lands to be a travelling stage as one of the biggest points of Shadow of the Colossus was it's huge overworld that you could explore. It'd first start at the Shrine of Worship, with Mona lying down in the background, and then a platform will rise up and it will go to some of the places where you fought the Colossi while off showing the Forbidden Lands on the way to those places, maybe even showing off the Colossi areas that aren't gone to. Some of the areas where you would fight would be:
-The third Colossi's, Gaius', area, on top of the held-up ruins, where the players first fight around a downed Gaius and can jump on his legs and whatnot, eventually for Gaius to rise and stand himself up and than take a swing with his weapon on the ground where the fighters' are, afterwards it starts heading to the next area.
-The 4th Colossi's, Phaedra's, area with the bunker hills. The players fight on top of the hill areas where eventually, Phaedra comes and investigates the fighters by lowering themselves down, where the fighters have to hop on him and the fighting moves to his long body and head. Hitting Phaedra's head will cause him to shake violently around due to the symbol on his head. Eventually, it goes to the next area.
-The 5th Colossi's, Avion's, area is the ruins surrounded by water. The players fight on top of the platforms where Avion flies towards you when he attacks you. During the battle, you see Avion flying around and every little bit, Avion will fly right to the fighters attempting to hit them. And then eventually, to the next area.
-The 8th Colossi's, Kuromori's, area, in the arena-like area. The players fight inside the arena's walls, with the windows in the background. During the fight, Kuromori's head will look in the windows and look at the fighters, before attacking with his lightning/poison breath attack. After a couple attacks, it goes to the next area.
-The 10th Colossi's, Dirge's, area in the sand cave. The players fight on top of bumpy sand hills and that has a giant rock on one side and a rock pillar on the other. During the battle, the players will see Dirge slowly make their way to the fight, but before he gets there, he does a great leap. A red marker appears showing where he will land before Dirge dives into the sand, hitting any fighters in the way. Once Dirge lands, it goes to the next area.
-The 13th Colossi's, Phalanx's, area in the great sand dune. The fight takes place on the sand at first, but shortly after, Phalanx rises from the sand and the players have to get onto his huge long body. The fighters then fight on top of his body as it explores around the area where it's fought, showing a huge view of the Forbidden Lands, including a cameo of the 6th Colossi's, Barba's, entrance area. Eventually, Phalanx dives back into the sand and then proceeds to the next area.
-The 14th Colossi's, Cenobia's, area in the City ruins. The players fight not just on the ground, but also on top of the ruins. During the fight, Cenobia appears and will start attacking fighters on the ground. The fighters have to stay on top of the pillars and platforms for Cenobia to not attack them, but Cenobia will still attack the pillars the fighters are on, causing the platforms to shake violently and to try to knock the fighters off. Eventually, it goes to the next area.
-The 15th Colossi's, Argus', area, in the Castle ruins. The fighters fight on top of the ruins on one of the big bridges. During the fight, Argus rises from the cliffside and then slowly makes his way toward the bridge. Eventually, he swings his sword and breaks the bridge in half and he moves under the broken part of the bridge. The top half of his body can then be landed on and the players fight on the broken bridge and Argus. Eventually however, it goes to the last area.
-The 16th Colossi, Malus', area, in the rainy battlefield, either on the battlefield or on top of Malus. If the players fight in the battlefield, they'll see the looming Malus in the distance. Malus will fire off gigantic lightning shots at the players. The players have to use the walls and undergrounds to keep safe from Malus' attacks. If the players appear on top of Malus, a confused Malus who feels the fighters on his body, will move his arms up in confusion, his arms becoming platforms for the fighters to fight on as he just looks at them. At some points, he will try to shake any fighters off by shaking his arms.
-After being on Malus' stage for a bit, it then returns to the Shrine of Worship, where before, we only saw Mona lying down. We now arrive at the Shrine of Worship where it shows Mona standing up, alongside Agro. It also shows Ico and Yorda, as well as The Boy from The Last Guardian with Trico. All 6 are watching the fighters, before the stage repeats itself to Gaius' area.

Yes, I overdid it quite a bit, but Shadow of the Colossus was such an amazing experience for me and curse me if I didn't try giving it alot of attention.

I wouldn't be surprised if TLOU2 gets a hefty amount of nominations, but I would be really surprised if they end up not winning any of them like what happened with RE2 Remake and Spider-Man.

Still thinking nothing and FP8 will be January, latest being February.

It would be easier to talk about Lara Croft if 80-90% of the conversations about her weren't just.

"You guys are sleeping on Lara Croft"

"Yeah she would be pretty cool"

repeat ad nauseum

it's not 100% because there have been genuine discussions about her chances with moveset ideas and all that but a good chunk of the time it is the exact same discussion
Well, getting people into a conversation is CLEARLY not my strength, as I've posted my ideas on Lara Croft a couple of times int he past week, and while it gets likes, it doesn't actually spur interactivity. (Maybe I'm just heavily blocked).

I think LoUP2 might end up in a similar situation as RDR2 and DS the previous two years of the show. The semi controversial nominee many people see as the front-runner and goes on to sweep a fair amount of the show, but ultimatley loses the big award to something else.

Honestly I feel Half Life Alyx of all games has a good chance to take home the big prize. It's notrriety as a legitimate critically acclaimed release for vr (which you really don't see too often) as well as the first half life release in years feels a bit more monumental.

You Know what, I am gonna underestimate her, because I firmly Do not think she will happen in Smash Ultimate

It's just not her time. She is very Iconic, but like how Geno is stuck in this Weird limbo where while his Merits to being a Playable Smash character is terrible, I would still consider him Likely Because he's heavy in Smash Requests

Lara is stuck in this Weird Limbo where she definitely has the merits to get into Smash, but I don't think in comparison to other characters, she can Clutch a Spot as of right now. she wasn't even in the Seven Squares leak, when Chrono, Geno, Sephiroth, and Sora were, along with the Dragon Quest Characters. I think she will be a Perfect Base roster Character for Smash 6, especially if there are cuts, but not now
All that says is that one person who created said premise, didn't include her- which is in part because they SE is known for RPGs, with any other character being sidelined.
I don't think appealing to the Smash Community is the goal of the fighters pass, personally. It makes much more sense to me to market to the world, and build up the Smash community. The Smash community was waiting for the next character immediately after Steve. As a whole, we only focus on whats next, with many of us not even buying the character.

Trying to appeal to a small group of people who already know the game well, versus enticing millions more- I think the latter is the smarter business move (in the generalized sense).

TL;DR;
There is more to Smash than those who already play it, who are also frequently stubborn with ideas and desires, while rarely satiated.

I actually am pretty optimistic. I still believe Byleth was intended for TGA given their trailer beginning with in game footage as a fake out as opposed to the Smash logo cross fade. If they dropped this on you without context you’d think it was a trailer for the 3H DLC

If this is the case I suspect it'll just be a tease at most like Joker's animation.

Either that or they reveal the trailer and said character is stated for release in January.

50% The VGA's are big and Joker got a lot of people talking, But on the other hand Nintendo may take this opportunity to focus something that hasn't had a lot of exposure yet or would not get any exposure outside of a large event.

Cautiously optimistic. I'd watch anyway, because I'm also optimistic about a lot of other stuff, but if anything, the TGA organizers seem willing to do it again - only question is whether Nintendo would be.

I'm not going to be roped into watching the TGA's again after last year's snorefest, but I'll keep on eye on social media that night just in case.

I myself will watch them regardless of character reveal or not. Love to see what games that could be announced that would spark my interest.

Not to mention most likely getting footage and gameplay reveal of God of War: Ragnarok which will make up for everything.

Imagine the same event with Thor Ragnarok, Breath if the Wild Sequel and Perfect Dark 3 trailers.
