As someone who has played exclusively a heavily modded 1.7.10 in the past couple of months, can someone fill me in on what's changed between then and now? I'd like to see just how huge vanilla Minecraft has become so I can get a sense of how inspired Steve's moveset is.

That's what I love most about his inclusion, Sakurai has been super faithful to every part of Minecraft and it makes me so happy. Every detail is so amazing. TBH when I saw Steve in the trailer I was half expecting his limbs to move more fluidly like in MC: Story Mode, which I'd be fine with. But I like this a LOT better. Especially his crouch, that thing's legendary!

I feel that Chief should at least get a Mii costume as he won't be playable. Halo really does deserve the recognition/representation as it's not going to get the playable nod.

In terms of the costumes, Minecraft costume is a shoe in, Maybe Chief and something to do with Ori perhaps? Then maybe a couple miscellaneous Mii costumes. Maybe a BK one but they would have came with BK. Maybe some more Rare? That would probably be Conker, Joanna Dark or maybe someone from JFG.

I forgot to say this earlier, but zhuge and reddit brush guy can absolutely **** off with this kind of "leak". Seriously what's the point of saying it minutes before the presentation? You got to see the video 15 minutes early, very impressive assholes, enjoy your "clout"

I mean to be honest, I think the Alts for Steve? Might be enough. We'd probably get Chief, more indie Costumes, and one of the Returning Costumes back

It doesn't look like anything from Steve's moveset is from later updates. Could be wrong once we see the real Sakurai presentation.

I havnt seen yet if Japan got the same announcement. Honestly, I took his entire direct complaining about "Nintendo" wanting too much to be a substitute for "You Americans" want too much, it takes more than you realize. Of course Nintendo knows what goes into development, they finance it.

I think It might be Possible for Steve to equip the Same Color, for example in 8-Player Smash or something like that. there Were 2 Zombies in a game snippet, but Zombie is only 1 alt. That mean it might be possible for There to be 8-Player Endermen

When the character doesn't leak, you're in the dark but you get the surprise of the live reveal.
When someone leaks something early, you lose the surprise but at least you get to know info well ahead of time.
Leaking something just a few minutes ahead does absolutely nothing other than ruin the surprise. As soon as someone posted that Zhuge tweet I instantly knew it was Steve because that guy just can't help himself. I was stupid to think they wouldn't be clout chasing at the last proverbial minute considering vergeben already tried to do it with byleth.

The devs can force players to use the same color with their debug tools for whatever reason, like gags in trailers.

God I'm so hyped for this. Quite a contrast to when I was once an avid Minecraft player who oppossed Steve's addition back in 2014. I'm glad I got sensible and left that bandwagon behind. I've loved Minecraft ever since I began playing it in 2012, so of course I should be happy with this. And guess what? This is probably the single most personally hype newcomer for me since King K. Rool. I actually screamed when I figured out who the newcomer was, and I cheered during the entire trailer. Those special attacks look insane.

I went into this reveal totally blind. God I'm glad I did. That was so awesome.

I don't think they needed to. The Nether wasn't the stage chosen, so they couldn't use that.

Honestly, this is the largest release in Ultimate in terms of how iconic the character is.

As Gwen said, Steve's reveal is the largest since Cloud's reveal. This reveal is in the iconic levels of Cloud, Sonic, and Snake.

If it's gonna be indie mii skins, it's likely gonna be Western Indies or more Microsoft related skins. I doubt it'd be someone like Reimu getting Mii skinned in a Minecraft based video.

Of course Vault Boy was in Min Mins trailer so I guess that doesn't change things.

Yeah, I suppose it all boils down to whether or not the Miis have a theme. Half the DLC so far has had a theme, half of them haven't. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm pretty disappointed in the reveal. I don't care for Minecraft and I'm pretty upset that Microsoft got 2 characters in the same DLC period while Namco is still stuck at 1 since vanilla 4.

I met some guy at a tournament that said he'd never play Smash again if Steve got in, lol.

If nothing else, I'm now fairly confident we aren't getting a Mario character in this pass. Even assuming Steve was the first of an E3 double reveal and he's releasing soon (Saturday at the absolute earliest) with the second coming not soon after, there would still be an at least 2 month wait between character releases based on both the precedent we have and also to give the guy time to breathe so as not to get overshadowed by another character. FP8 is almost assuredly not making it in time for the tournament, the best time to release a Mario character. Not saying it's impossible, but it feels like a huge hit to their chances.

I'm never going to ask for anything again. I am beyond excited to try him and Watch his presentation this weekend.

For his mii, maybe we'll see Master chief? I know it Will hurt a lot of fans but that's what might happen. Either way, just a Halo mii would probably make the internet explode a second time.

And for those who didn't want Steve, that's okay and I understand, and I genuinely hope that one of the last 4 will be someone for them. Hopefully in the end Everyone Will have a little something!

It doesn't change anything at all. Okami isn't related to minecraft, so it doesn't lower the chances

The art creation aspect of the game definitely doesn't make me think of minecraft either, so I think it's all good

Steve's final smash is my favorite out of the entire DLC, or even the entire game.
