I mean, I don't really care either. It's an Indie Direct. It's gonna be 20 minute video of a bunch of Steam games I probably already have getting ported to Switch. Never anything I get excited over.

That's a fine stance to take. But I feel like demeaning Nintendo gives us a main direct is going a bit on the entitled side(which is what most of the comment chains amount to)

After the confirmation for the Indie Showcase, I'm like 99% convinced we're gonna get a direct next week, as Zell suggested.
If it's gonna be a general direct or not, I'm not that sure. Maybe a Partner Showcase, but a very short one like the previous one would be disappointing. I honestly wouldn't mind another Partner Showcase if it has a decent duration and more games.

But I guess at that point they could just do a Mini, which is also fine by me. Better that than literally nothing and NoA Twitter ****posting everyday lmao

It's been awhile since we've had an Indie World, but it was definitely much needed. Indie games rarely get showcased on Directs themselves, so having a broadcast dedicated to those games gives them the spotlight they need.

As for the next rumored Direct, there isn't a reason to believe it wouldn't be another Mini-Partner Showcase. Insiders do get the dates right, but they don't really touch on what will be shown off on them or how long the Directs will be. Maybe Nintendo will also bring up something 1st Party related when they make the announcement, but I'm not going to bank on it.

I think it makes sense to have Haken on the board because Haken and reiji are friends in the mcu esque shared universe that PXZ/Robot wars/Endless frontier/Xenosaga reside in. Same with Kosmos.

Hoo boy, that's a tough decision. I'm tempted to just post the entirety of the Touhou soundtrack, but that would be really hard to sift through. I'll try to narrow it down to the top 10 song I believe are the most iconic, plus some personal picks.

1. Maiden's Capriccio. C'mon, it's Reimu's own theme. It's kind of a necessity.
2. Love-Colored Master Spark, the most recurring theme of the other main character, Marisa.
3. U.N Owen Was Her? Probably the most iconic Touhou theme of all.
4. A Luna Dial/Flowering Nights medley, since they're both Sakuya's themes.
5. Necrofantasia, for being the one Phantasm boss theme, the theme of an important character, and just because it's a really good song.
6. Faith is for the Transient People, because Sanae was a major character from MoF to TD.
7. Nuclear Fusion, for being one of the most aggressive and fight-y songs in the series.
8. Fate of Sixty Years, mostly to hear those organs remastered in HD
9. Beloved Tomboyish Girl. Look, we're not getting out of here without Cirno, no siree
10. Pure Furies, for being a personal favorite. That, and we need a modern era song.

Tencent's post does not mention Nintendo Direct by name (not as far as I can see) - although both Zhuge and Chinese commentators have called it effectively a Direct. Ring Fit did become very popular during the lockdown there, and for the official release Tencent hired celebrities to star probably in this as well as ads.

Most of them would work easily with no remixes aside from Glee club and the title screen medley. Also I try to not put too much song with lyrics because I know that copyright could be a problem (only Machine remix and both Karate man have lyrics).

Has this happened before? Is Tencent basically responsible for "Direct-style" announcements in China? Or is it just this once?

Because if it is the former, that's... interesting. Nintendo usually doesn't let other companies do this, with very rare exceptions. Though to be fair, they probably wouldn't be allowed in China without Tencent's backing, so...

An Indie Direct is good for the people that enjoy indies, but they aren't really substantial at all. I don't think they even show them in Japan.
