1. No.

2. Catch it and throw it back or behind you or keep holding it.
(just stand there and catch the thrown banana)

3. Dont get hit. If they got you into the banana lock, you cant do anything.
Maybe try to roll away, if they miss it once and try to DI the Fsmash, if they use it, so that it only hits with the weak hit.

played this quality olimar player tonite.

some questions:

1. say you work out olimars pivot grab pattern. how do you punish it after the pivot grab?

2. whats best approach option v olimar?

3. whenever i landed near olimar i got grabbed, or i'd spot dodge and still get grabbed. how do i avoid that?

1. Depends on the situation and how much time you got after the Pivot Grab.
Double hit Nair to make damage.
DSmash to kill or getting him offstage.
Grab, if you didnt got that much time and a dthrow can be a good intro for an edgeguard or gimp.

2. Spaced dairs.

3. Mix it up. Dont just shield or dodge. Directly attack the olimar, jump or roll away.
I would try to do a spaced full jump aerial, which hits Olimar/Olis shield but also gets you into a safe position.
Grab if you are close enough and doesnt expect any action of him except shielding.

no you space your jump onto the stage so that your airdodge cancels into the ground and then f-tilt
the up-air isnt nessessary but it can maybe hit if they try to rush you

Something to further help getting up from the ledge
Something I've been doing recently to some success is basically, while planking for a little bit to be inconsistent with getting up or landing on the stage, I will sometimes drop down like I normally would while planking, double jump and then hold down in order to avoid grabbing the ledge, and double jump again onto the stage and follow it up with a fair, tilt or spot dodge or whatever. Basically, it just gives you another option from the ledge that your opponent has to deal with.

^a recent thread that just got closed.

anyone got a video example? i don't understand how he explains that.

when you airdodge into the ground it cancels
so:
hit back while on the ledge
jump so that you barely make it back on stage
airdodge while doing this
when you hit the ground f-tilt

What do Meta Knight players think of Peach? :p
annoying her u-tilt, d-air, and f-smash. But i play MK i should not be complaining lol

Tornado ***** marth works every time un less the marth knows what you are thinking so dont be predictable.

i saw that recent video of m2k v meep. why is it completely unsafe now to approach ice climbers front on anymore?

do new AT's for IC's allow even more grab setups?

what is the best way to play IC's now? doing what m2k did? getting ahead and then timing out letting them approach.

it has never been safe to approach the IC's head on and running the clock on them has always been the best way to deal with them. in a straight up fight, they win, stall knight beats IC's though <_<

That was just him being frustrated he dont usually play like that
you pretty much only have WELL spaced dair and tornado when their shield is low. everything else can lead to getting grabbed

Hey guys something weird happened. When I was randomly play with MK, I used 5 mid air jumps and try to recover back using shuttle loop, when I used it it froze then the shuttle loop stopped then I regained 5 mid air jumps again. I didn't grab on the ledge and I even saw it. What do you guys think? How did it happen?

you can cancel the up b at the ledge. if you space it at a certian height and distance from the ledge it will cancel and you just fall regaining all jumps and up-b

Is U-Smash a bad move to use?
Yes. You'll have better options in all of the situations that Usmash could be used well. But IMO the worst problem of this move is that it has an ending lag that isn't usual for MKs.

So I can still use it, but VERY VERY sparingly, right?
And what are some good damagers? fair, bair, dair, uair.. what else o.O

Down throw if they dont DI away u-air combo them than nado their landing.
If they DI away dash attack or regrab.
Just try to pop them in the air and read their air dodges with nado and u-airs.

remember its brawl its not that hard to pick up a new character just space.
its not like you have to wave shine and l-cancel and move your fingers 1000 mph lol

ps. i dident quote this its to Kaffei

OH OH how can I maximize each ledge grab, I've been messing around with planking and on average i can grab the ledge about 6-8 times per minute while planking wondering if there anyway I can lower that to around 4-5 a minute. Anyone figure a way tell me.
ok sorry on double post.

just use more jumps befor re grabing the ledge.

This might help.

Hai. I'm not here to troll this time- but I really have a srs business question :lick:

Okay so apparently I have a really bizarre bad habit of holding down on the jump button when recovering. I guess this went unnoticed since I only used Jiggz and Kirby, but with MK it's bad ****ing news sometimes because it makes me go into a glide, and it made me SD before. LOOL I was at 34% my opponent 135% and the piece of **** taunted. It was okay, I still managed to win but thats sum bad stuff. I don't know why I do it. What should I do? Maybe be more aware of my fingers when recovering? It only seems to happen when I'm getting back on stage and not in actual combat. ._.

When you play Kirby or jiggz, don't hold the button. Practice not holding it and tap it manually.

Dthrow is the best. Dthrow > Tornado; Dthrow > Fair and others. Dtilt sets up for some good stuff that can rack up some good damage, such as Dtilt to Grab(and then that Dthrow stuff) and Dtilt to Dash Attack(> Nair). There are some other great combos like Uair string > Tornado/Fair/Niar/Up...

For combos, Dthrow is the best. And lol, it's the best, but I just wanna say that F/Bthrow can put the opponent in a bad position if you're trying to gimp him and he's not good off-stage.

Ah that helped a lot. Thanks man.
Also, how do I momentum cancel with MK?

1. what has more range - d-tilt or f-tilt?

i notice that the f-tilts LAST hit seems to have the most range? do the first 2 hits of f-tilt also exceed d-tilt's range?

2. does mk's fair out- prioritize DK's bair?

3. does mk's fair out-prioritize ness's fair?

thx
