I mean, you guys don't talk about ****** this or ****** that when you're trying to pick up a girl or when you're in a job interview. . .

Do you?

I'm 4 for 4 on successful job interviews while incorporating a strong use of the word "****", including picking up the girl interviewing in two of the four.

Charles, you have an uncanny charm and it is likely that the interviewer is actually completely hypnotized by your darling eyes. The only thoughts being triggered by your utterance of the word are a series of intensely vivid fantasies.

Besides the casting, it's also the write-ups of important tournaments, interviews, etc. that makes something like Starcraft easier to get into...

Nah I won't do that lol. Casting matches is different. I know too much about this game to not help the community more than I already do to the best of my ability.

I use **** when trying to make friends with girls. Hot ones that I'm interested in? If they're clumsy/shy then I don't use that word at all.

Wait, showcasing our casting? Hmmmm.....
Looks like I'mma have to get my roommate to crotch-destroy people with luigi!

What about: a small percent of the tourney pot going to 1 or 2 commentators? To motivate quality casting.

once we get all the tech figured out, our crew wants to try doing something similar to the superturbo saturdays. does anyone know the programs they use to do that(speed control/rewind/fastforward)? roundtable discussions of matches with the players seems really interesting to me.

i know other ideas are being discussed, and that loveage brought it up earlier... so i hope it works out for us

only problem is our crew doesnt do awesome crap all the time (cept arc), so that might be the most detrimental factor here

Hmm... this was pretty helpful, but also very boring. Throw in a few jokes every now and then. Get some catchphrases. Seriously, would it kill you guys to randomly blurt out "banana hammock" or something whenever you run out of things to say? Lol.
I like this idea, but I'd love to see some more humor and enthusiasm overall.

I think this can only be done if their is at least some small amount of hype involved. Hype is really what boosted the Melee community back. I remember a year or so ago someone called Homemadewaffles the Savior of Melee. In a way those now famous videos helped to bring everyone back (I was one of them).

To try and pander to communities like Galo and Starcrap could work but the Casting seems so boring that it makes even the greatest things in smash seem......not great. Their isn't any energy and when their is no energy their is either no melee or a melee when Hug's Samus is playing:awesome:.

If their is a way to do it has to be like Pound 4 Husband and Wife here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hm8KUKEE5Rk#t=0m24s

If it can be done like this but perhaps with less hype so you can hear everything but this is very good and it still has the hype which has come to define the melee community.

PS. I'm proudly await my infraction.

To those asking about the tech: I just used fraps and windows media player LOL.

We lack having actual replays like starcraft does, so that's probably as good as things are going to get.

The mic was my webcam mic. >.>

I'd be really interested to see if you got this working, I love Super Turbo Saturdays, and something like this for Melee would be amazing for the community. I'm pretty sure they do the actual calls over Skype, so potentially you could have smashers from all over comment on their matches.

That's sick, peepee does match breakdowns already, I wonder if he'd be up for somethin like that. You get one really knowledgeable player that gives a lot of matchup breakdowns and technical details and another smart dude who offers small tid-bits while also providing wit, humor, hype and complements the other commentator. Winning combo.

That's a pretty beast idea, I use skype myself and it's good. You can have multiple people tune in and people can vote for example a match of their choice for 1-2 people to commentate.. either their own matches or matches from other people. Sounds like fun to me. I would do it or at least try to.

Haha thanks man. I never back down :)

PP, a lot of times I'll throw out ideas and hope that someone else will go through with them. I'm less of a "doing" kind of guy and more of an idea kinda guy.

I've heard Wife's name mentioned a bunch of times, and honestly he's the first person who came to my head. It would be awesome if he were the first to spearhead such a project, and I'd be very glad to help.
I'm both for and against this. Having played with wife alot, he can be VERY smart in some cases, but in others he feels...antiquated? Not sure. But in general he'd be very good at this.

This idea as a whole is great though. This is definitely something that comes to mind when I think of community outreach and lessening the gap. Smashers complain that they don't really WANT tutorial commentary, they just want hype and stuff, because for the most part we know what's going on. I think matchcasting is excellent, because it means we can have hype commentary for all the in community, and then for anyone who wants to learn something they can watch the cast (request it if no one's done it) and watch that later.

Actually, I'm gonna go ahead and say we should start matchcast request threads in char specific as well as general. Person can post the video, and anyone who has time on their hands can take a shot at it. We could have respected community members give the thumbs up/down on casts, and then update the first thread with better versions if they get done.

Most girls fantasize about getting *****, just in the right way.

TL;DR - Talking about **** will help you pick up girls.
