1. Q. How long have you been playing competitive melee?
A. For about 4 years now.
2. Q. How often do you attend tournaments? How familiar are you with your local scene? Your regional scene? The national/international scene?
A. I attend every melee tournament I can. I've been to hundreds of events and a number of national events, a number which I have also won.
3. Q. How would you classify yourself as a player relative to the current metagame? (beginner, average, high level, pro, etc.)
A. I would classify myself as a top professional.
4. Q. Do you think the other individuals in your region would support you being a member of the MBR? Why?
A. Yes, because I am one of the most active hosts and players in the community, and I always strive my best to give any input I can on topics.
5. Q. Do you consider yourself a discussion leader? Why?
A. Yes. I am willing to take heat for a certain debacle (such as a tier list) and I am well suited to mediate arguments and discussions.
6. Q. Are you an active Tournament Organizer? If Yes, what are some recent tournaments you have hosted? If No, what are some ways you feel you contribute to your local scene despite not being a TO?
A. Yes, I host the WATO series (there has been about 25 WATOs so far) and I also hosted the Smash portion of CEO2010 and hosting the Smash portion of the landmark event, CEO2011. I help to host all of the locals and assist in any nationals I can, such as being Plank's assistant during Pound 4 and 5.
7. Q. Do you feel that the current tier list is accurate? Why?
A. No, Jigglypuff is not the third best character in the game. Considering my actions are mainly what propelled her to that level, I feel that such a jurisdiction is biased.
8. Q. Do you feel that the current MBR recommended stage list is fair? Why?
A. The less counter-picks, the better...for the most part, the stages are fair. I'm very glad PS is now a CP, but I believe that Rainbow Cruise should be banned.
9. Q. Do you feel that the current MBR recommended rule set is fair? Why?
A. Yes. It always has been fair, and it is the standard of play.
10. Q. What is more important to you: Tech Skill or Strategy? Why?
A. Strategy. It allows you to know your opponent and win your matches without depending on physical input (something I know much about!)
11. Q. What is more important to you: Maximizing Punishments (Combos) or Initiating Punishments (First Hits)? Why?
A. Maximizing punishments. Initiation requires action, whereas maximization involves reaction. Players are more often relaxed and less nervous when it comes to reaction. Punishes are guaranteed when a players messes up.
12. Q. Does SSBM have a limited lifespan as a competitive community due to its age or any other factor? Why or why not?
A. I believe that our lifespan could be limited compared to other communities, mainly for the reason that we are no longer sponsored but also because our community is based entirely off of events that are in person.
13. Q. What do you think could be done to expand our community?
A. Keep hosting tournaments, and hopefully bring back some sponsorship. We should also integrate our digital outlets more efficiently; the live stream of EVO Events for Street Figher 4 and others are almost unparalleled.
14. Q. What do you think the MBR could do to stimulate the community?
A. The MBR should continue to create tier lists and promote national events, as well as comment on heated discussions and provide input on how to resolve them.
15. Q. How do you think the MBR would benefit from your input?
A. It would gain the knowledge and input of a current World Professional, and the issue of Jigglypuff would be less controversial with my opinions. I would also intend to be a regional leader of the ATL South.
