Reminds me, 2 questions.

With the Alliance Phantom, is it true you want to focus on Melee Damage for Fitness and the Bonus Power upgrade for Cloak? I've heard a bunch of people talking about being able to get off 2 Shadow Strikes and get an insta-kill off of both of them from one single Cloak that way.

And well, what's the general strategy for Platinum? Any different from the strategy of Gold?

Man I've not even played the new maps I totally forgot about them.

Looking at the new classes it seems the worst one is the Sentinal, he just sucks though his light melee specced for cryo is handy, and then it's the Vanguard, his phaze blast thing is nigh useless, and then it's the Soldier because his missile launcer is probably one of the worst abilities out there and he can't roll when that his main power is on (or maybe he just can't roll, dunno).

So I just got the N7 Slayer...

I still have to try him out, but I don't have any approach to how I should use him, lol.

There's nothing on BW forums yet, but a lot of people are going for Shields on Fitness since he's so fragile. But since on Gold you basically die in a couple seconds anyway, you kind of lose that distinction.

Plus, his Biotic Slash can go 30 meters through walls. I can pretty much stay back and spam it.

I ran out of Reset Cards, so I still need to try out how effective his Phase Disruptor does well against the Rank 6 Armor or Shields/Barrier damage.

Overall though, I don't see very much effective use for him on Gold... Kind of disappointing, since most Vanguards lack any sort of viable playability at higher difficulties. Seriously, BW.

Oh goodness. In a party on Firebase White/Geth/Gold, a friend of mine was MQE, and we had two randoms, a Human Phoenix Adept and GE.

Match was bonkers. Staying at that usual back area, my friend was in the sniper spot using Tactical Scan (rk6/range) constantly and Arc Grenade when needed and the GE was inside the building with his turret for heals.

This was where it got good. Next to the GE, the Adept would spam Smash and set-up BOs. I would stay at the way back between the two crates (where you might occasionally find a pylon objective). With the 30meter range on Biotic Slash, I spammed that thing like crazy.

BOs and staggers. BOs and staggers everywhere. What's funny was that since the Geth Turret was just a wall away, I was insta-healed if I was damaged. When it came to objectives, we just rearranged ourselves and repeated the procedure.

Nothing got in our path. Except a glitch where I (host) got kicked. I easily rejoined though and continued from Wave 9.

Regardless of how effective it was, DAMN THAT FELT GOOD. For me at least.

Wait, you've had more than 1 respec card at once? Whoa.
Can't tell if serious :[

Okay, so I got the Fury yesterday, but didn't *play* with it yet.

What I did get, was the Demolisher; The engineer. I like.

Let me break this down for you.

The Pylon is helpful; Not as helpful as the Geth Bot, in shield resto, but it still helps. BUT, this is basically an ammo box that you plant.

And you have two sets of grenades. Oh, but WHY would you take both?

BECAUSE YOU GET CAPACITY INCREASES FROM BOTH TREES DUMMY.

Basically, why can't I hold all of these grenades???

Your passive tree also increases your grenade capacity. I'm seriously consider dumping the fitness tree for more grenades.

People might say homing is useless, but the last branch of it gets "Split", where it will... Split... Into two homing grenades.

Arc Grenades are awesome. But I need to respec those for Shields and barriers. No Idea why I took those for Armor... @_@ I mean, they did good, but... What was I thinking?

Basically, Demolisher is a support role. And I like it. Combine it with the Gear that has AR and Grenade capacity...

See above about not holding all these grenades...

Homing Grenades aren't useless, have you seen the damage they do? Arc Grenades are great for taking down shields and stunning large groups of enemies but massively powerful Homing Grenades are what you need to rip apart the bosses and things you can't be bother shooting.

Also I'm pretty sure the pylon is going to get nerfed on that 50% over armour increase. I mean you step out of the ring, then step back in it, and boom 50% extra shields. Going to respec my pylon for that rather than 2 grenades at a time restock.

The Demolisher is seriously an OP support class.

Grenades everywhere. Combine it with a Destroyer and you have something that I cannot describe.

I can only imagine what having 4 Demolishers would do. Just for the lulz.

I dunno, whether I spec the pylon when I finally get the class for grenades or shields depends partly on how many I have in general, and on my Grenade Capacity Gear thing. Because I've heard if you have that at a good level, you can get OVER 11 Grenades. I don't even want to think of how badly that could murder Geth.

One thing's for sure though, not only are the DLC add-on classes as a whole better than the basic ones that came before Resurgence, but I think these N7 ones are damn made with Gold/Platinum in mind.

13 is the max if you take every Grenade increase, and have your gear maxed out (+5 grenades I believe. I just started getting gear. Shows how long it's been since I've played).

I personally never said Homing Grenades were useless. I'm just reporting what I've seen others (on reddit, mostly) say. I'm probably going to respec my nades for

Arc: Shield spec
Homing: Armor spec
Pylon: Just gonna look at the paths again.

Even with my Revenant X, I'm at a 100% CD, so I can still pop Pylons all over, grenades aren't an issue if I skip the 2 nades.

Multiplayer Balance changes from today:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
July 18, 2012
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vindicator Assault Rifle
-Damage increased from [62.4-78.0] to [68.6-85.8]

Mattock Assault Rifle
-Damage increased from [94.2-117.8] to [103.6-129.5]

Phaeston Assault Rifle
-Damage increased from [38.1-47.6] to [41.9-52.4]

Piranha Shotgun
-Damage increased from [63.6-79.6] to [70.9-88.7]

Vorcha Flamer
-Increase base range from 5 meters to 10 meters

Umm....holy CRAP at that Flamer buff. I gotta get a respec card and do Damage and Duration instead of Range and Damage for it now, but still, holy crap.

So I had a pretty good day in terms of Premium and Normal Spectre Packs today.

First Premium Spectre Pack upgraded my Claymore and Widow.

First Spectre Pack gave me the other Vorcha (the Sentinel)

But the second Premium Spectre Pack?

It gave me the freaking DEMOLISHER. :bee:

Specc'd with 6 on the Pylon and both sets of Grenades, and 4 to the Demolisher base power and Fitness and holy hell is it good. Even with just a level 1 Grenade Capacity Gear upgrade, I have 8 freaking Grenades, and considering I went for the Power Damage for the Level 4 Evolution of the base power and as long as I'm playing with competent people, good lord.

That being said though, I don't know what weapon to use with it. I tried a Mantis X initially with it and it went alright. However, I'm thinking the class should be used with a Shotgun or an Assault Rifle, so my current loadout now has the Wraith equipped as the weapon. However, I haven't tried it out yet so I dunno if it's a good one or not. Either way, I'm loving this class right now and am like...so looking forward to seeing what the other classes are like.

Yeah, it does. I like trying to go to other places, but I know that I'm probably going to lose.

:phone:

Goddess and Glacier are actually kind of easy to learn, if you put some time into them I find. Of course, with the Slayer and Shadow's teleport dash/dodges, being able to go through walls and that window should make Glacier a lot easier.

Yeah Glacier and Goddess are way more fun to play than Firebase White. Plus both maps aren't that difficult either. Its more fun that sitting in one room all match.

The Slayer is kinda cool.

I feel like this all the time though.

Yay awkward image edits.

The Fury and Slayer really elude me right now. I have no idea how I should build them, skill wise.

Demolisher, I have 6/6/6/6/0.

So many grenades. So little to kill.

I can see putting 0 into Fitness, but for me I kind of well, feel I have to have at least something in Fitness because I just don't like the idea of getting OHKO'd by something, even if the difference is small at the end of the day. Plus, 8-9 grenades is more than I know what to do with half the time. Especially since in a smaller map like Goddess or Glacier, I'm pretty much getting 2 back as fast as I can use them. An entire squad of Demolishers would just easymode Gold though assuming everyone was specc'd properly.

Demolisher doesn't need and Fitness, just slap a Harrier on her and sit back, she's a camping class.

Anyway I'm so sick of babysitting people. I tried playing FBW again but not only is it crazy boring it turns out that people still don't know how to play it (sit inside, win) and will still run outside because they like making Rocket Troopers camp miles away to slow down the match, love getting killed by the first Hunter that gets close to them on wave 5 and have a great time leading Primes around the back. If people don't come inside when I tell them it's a bad idea to camp outside I just quit now, so sick of babysitting.

It was hilarious when Me, Xanthan, Odin and Mood got ***** by 2 Phantoms the other day though. 1 Phantom destroyed 3 of us despite her being slowed down by my Cryo Shield.

I'm trying to find a way to play N7 Slayer. I know someone solo'ed Platinum on it until Wave 8.

Some people have forgone the Barrier recharge of Charge for a 3/6/6/5/6, but I dunno. I do like it since I can have Phase Disruptor for staggers and Armor/Shield damage.

Some people have spec'd Fitness for Melee and have liked it (though I don't know what difficulty they are on).

I wonder what should be Slayer's main approach to attacking?

Apparently I've been having good luck with classes now. Demolisher, Vorcha Sentinel, and now Cerberus Vanguard in a 2 day period without mass farming? Nice.

Anybody uh...got any ideas on a good Cerbguard build?

I got the Typhoon and Acolyte!

And I like the N7 Slayer. Fuuun. So much discussion on how bad/good he his on the BW forums though, so it's kind of disheartening, but **** that.

Also I tried Platinum thrice. Not fun. Team got mowed down on Wave 1 by Geth Hunters one game.
