So Jungle told me that NOTHING carries over to ME2?

I'm level 44 w/3.5 million credits. D:
Um......Jungle was definitely wrong. If you have over a million credits, you get extra credits when you start ME2, you will also get extra mineral resources to start out with. Not only that, but you should go up a few levels when you start ME2 since you got to level 44. Also, you'll receive bonus paragon or renegade points depending on your choices in ME1.

But Sole Survivor was a random Thasher Maw. If Cereberus was involved in any way my Shepard had no clue.
....no, it wasn't.

It was an experiment by Cerberus. They unleashed a **** ton of thresher maws on your unit and then sat around with clipboards going "hmm, that's interesting", or whatever. Then they abducted the one survivor they knew of, Toombs, and did experiments on him. Repeatedly torturing him to death and bringing him back to life. It's THOUGHT to be a random thresher maw, until you do this backstory mission and uncover the truth. It was Cerberus. Fact.

Also why would you hate the people that (spoilering for F8AL's sake) [spoielr]not only brought you back to life, but happen to be the only people in the Galaxy that believe you and are actually doing something about it[/spoiler]. Sure you could hate them for being the most useful allies you've ever had, and then what? Tell them where to stuff it and go shipless and resourceless back to the completely and utterly useless council?
I don't understand why you accuse me of arguing my opinion and nothing else when you say stuff like the bold and hinge entire arguments on it. I've provided plenty of perfectly reasonable reasons to distrust, dislike, or even hate Cerberus. Many people share my thoughts.

The spoilered stuff doesn't erase the terrible **** they have done and continue to do. In fact if you hate Cerberus as much as my Shep and my others did, you'd have no reason to see them as doing anything but playing an angle, and
apparently that's just what they were doing all along
. However, what you spoilered there is what would justify working with them. Using their resources.

Please stop strawmanning me. The italics are a perfect example, considering I explicitly said in my last post that I DIDN'T expect or want to be able to do that.

There is nothing unreasonable about wanting the option to hate Cerberus, as surely as you could hate the Council. I don't know why you refuse to see this. I get that you love Cerberus and your Shepard loves Cerberus, and so on and so forth. That just means the railroad just so happened to work with your point of view. Stop assuming yours is all-encompassing and look at the plentiful reasons for other people who do not share it to hate them (and there are plenty of us). All I wanted was the same ability to express my opinions and thoughts as offered in ME1 when I worked under an equally controversial leadership figure, rather than having the control of expression and thought wrenched away from me.

Unrelated, but does anyone know what they're doing with the paragon/renegade system in ME3? I thought that was particularly badly designed in ME2, since by going with a ratio rather than a grand total with benchmarks, you effectively get punished for playing a three dimensional character, heh. I haven't heard anything about it, though I've been taking care to avoid spoilers.

Also, to kurazaki, is that meant to be Blasto the hanar Spectre? Because he's supposed to have a gun in every tentacle : crossarms:

The thing that bothers me is you say I don't see the railroading as I love Cerberus, when it's clear you don't see the railroading they did in ME1 and are going to do in ME3 regarding the terrible Alliance.

Lets hope there's a pro-Cereberus ending in ME3.

You hardly ever work for the Alliance in in the first game, the vast majority of the time you work for the Council. They are the main employment figure in that game, and you can tell them to suck a bag of d***s at literally every conversation.

Plus there's that one Alliance general that's a complete douche and wants to inspect the ship, and you can tell him to blow it out his *** (which I did). There's also the Alliance scientist guy that wanted to hold onto corpses from Eden Prime, and you can damn near break his arm and make him release them for proper burials. And you can tell Udina to go to hell a bunch of times. And you can tell Admiral Hackett to go to hell if you don't feel like doing a mission for him, and if go on the mission but you don't like what you learn while on that mission, you can call him out immediately after.

So I'm still not seeing the comparison, even though the relevant comparison is rather obviously Council vs Cerberus. The few times you work with or meet Alliance personnel that deserve some venom, you can serve it up.

And you keep ignoring my points as I establish them firmly, I feel. "The terrible Alliance" is terrible at its worst because of incompetence. This is a far, far cry from Cerberus, which is a straight up evil organization in ME1
and the cause of 1/3rd of all Shepards going through a horrifying trauma for the sake of moustache-twilring Evil Science, which you have ignored after saying it was a random thresher maw
, your only option to stop the threat in ME2 regardless of their morality, and apparently in ME3
revealed to have been evil all along, which is not in any way surprising
.

We'll just have to agree to disagree here then. My Shep would much rather be with Cereberus because
I owe them my life
and I'd rather be with the only organisation that's trying to save the galaxy, despite what they've done, than one that sits around doing nothing but telling you how bad you are at everything you do and how, even though they kinda believe you, they're not going to do anything about it.

Also can't talk about ME3 as we both have different levels of information about it due to the leaks, so your last spoiler is moot.

I just beat ME1, I quite enjoyed the story and it got pretty intense towards the end. The enemies were strong enough to take down my shields and Saren was pretty annoying. (Jumping all over the place.)

I also saved the council at the end and choose Anderson to serve on the Council.
I finished the game at level 46 with close to 4 million credits.

Going to borrow ME2 tomorrow from a friend. :)

You had better pre-order ME3 when you get the chance. Especially since it has co-op.

Waitwaitwait....Grey, didn't you just GIVE some potentially big spoilers just by the titles you gave those? Especially since the question of why there would be art of one coming up as a result is kind of...yeah.

Lol, well chances are, you have a poor memory and will forget all about it by the time it hits you in the face.

Nope. I'm the type who when I see a spoiler I DO NOT want to, I obsess over trying to forget it so much that I keep thinking on it and can't. Along with the one other thing I had spoiled for me against my will, that will be one of the first things I think of when I pick up the game as much as I don't want it to be.

Ah, well it's been a while since I've been this hyped up for a game. Actually no, I was pretty hyped about Dark Souls. Any ways, guess we're different people.

Yeah...But I'm still REALLY hyped for Mass Effect 3 to that I'm counting down the days even until the demo. I think the last game I was this hyped for was either Uncharted 3, or the PS3 release of Mass Effect 2, and even with that it was different since I'd never played it and had no idea what it was like.

Who here has played the demo? I heard it has some big spoilers, and I want to avoid that. I mean, unless it starts you off right at the beginning. I may have been given some bad information I guess but I was under the impression it's already out, and that it drops you into the middle of some scenario that's well after the beginning of the game.

It will cause me physical pain but if that's the case I think I'll just tough it out until march.

I was under the impression it puts you in the opening part, and then some mission not far off from the beginning that was among the first announced. I think the ME2 demo was the opening bit of that and someone's recruitment mission?

This. EE, if you're asking about the private beta that was leaked last year, it only contains the opening level and a level that the mission is to rescue the Krogan female.

Because you're playing it second hand you're going to miss out on 2 squadmates and some big DLC, like one where you help Liara go after the Shadow Broker. If your friend has the 2 squaddies then he can give them to you for free, but other DLC doesn't work.

I got my first hand copy of ME2 for £14.99 ($23) so it can't be that expensive to get it first hand over there.

Also Old Man Grey where did you find those pictures?

Hm...sleep. Destroy the universe later.

That always gets me. Though it's not "*potential spoiler for F8AL censored* flirting with Grunt" funny, or "I have a shotgun" funny.

The Biotic God won't be returning in my game because
I sent his MIGHTY WIND into battle and it was one of the best parts of ME2 by far ahahahaha

I hate hearing the Volus talk. If any of them talk to me in ME3 I'm letting their whole planet burn.

Also I want to speak about this (Warning NOT DLC squaddie, the other one):

[collapse=]
[/collapse]
Apart from being quite a shock, is anyone else a bit confused about this? I mean what could this teammate bring? Maybe an insight into
Cerberus
? Though there's other characters that could do that assuming they survive the Suicide Mission in 2. Hey I'm glad they're a squaddie, the more the merrier I say, but still they don't have very much mystery compared to every other squaddie.

Also I have a theory that the DLC squaddie will be in everyones game, because according to the leak (minor spoiler)
he's very important
so I think that only if you have the DLC you'll be able to take him on missions, but otherwise he'll be in everyones game.

Edit:

Aparently that new squaddie was mentioned in the leaks so I should know about them, somehow I missed that part I need to re-read them.

I'll think about it, since it has that stupid online pass BS.

EDIT: MP trailer

Who cares about the online pass? If you buy it new, it doesn't matter anyway. And if you're waiting for a price drop, you'll probably have to wait a while.
