I know in one of my playthroughs I set up a random system where only Jacob and Legion managed to survive. I wonder how that'll play out in the ME3.

Edit:

Lol, look what happens at the part in ME1 where you have to kill Wrex if you don't have Garrus or Liara:

Yeah, enjoy it man. It was awesome going through, though I think the Paragon/Renegade system is slightly different than the ME1 system?

Either way, it was surreal for me the first time I played it. The game just feels so...huge. And one of the DLC characters has the best Loyalty mission ever.

I'll keep you guys updated on my progress.

Who Kasumi? And yeah the Paragon/Renegade system is completely different.

Which classes and squad mates would you recommend me to use in ME2?

I prefer raw power over biotics and the other stuff.

What class did you use, out of curiousity?
I'm always stuck with Vanguard, honestly. I can't find a more awesome class. A mix of power and biotics.

I don't find any appeal in having a probe and being invisible. Soldier was okay, but I wanted biotics. Adept was too bioticy. I never felt moved to use tech armor.

For raw power, just go with Soldier. Vanguard is a powerhouse too, imo, but they have biotics.

My only problem with the Vanguard is their charge ability. Usually enemies are in groups, so whats the point of getting out of cover to get close to one guy when I'll have 4 more shooting at me from behind him/her?

Any input or help on how to use it effectively is totally welcome, btw, lol.

I can't imagine any class being stronger than soldier. Played through the game on the second highest difficulty and never ran into any problems, I probably should have done the highest. Soldier too OP.

I'd recommend Sentinel always, just because you can become a total tank. As for squadmates....if you want raw power, you can't go wrong with Zaeed or "The Krogan". Even though Jack's biotic, shockwave is insanely good. I WILL say though, there's a type of enemy you'll run into a bunch where powers like Pull, Throw, and Shockwave will help INCREDIBLY.

soldier just makes this game seem like a more in depth gears of war, why i'm changing him to a CQC guy in ME3

but any other class is what really makes the game different, i had a lot more fun as an adept than i did as a soldier, it makes you much more appreciative of your squad mates and your abilities, like how ME should be played, basically, any class that isn't soldier will be a lot of fun

but seriously, vanguard is what you're looking for, powerful, a lot of fun (i haven't used it but a lot of people i know have used this class and they all love it)

It's SO weird because I've never used it in either of my main playthroughs but everyone says it's "So fun you HAVE to at least try it"

However, I obviously won't be using it in my first 2 playthroughs of ME3 due to the way my save files are setup. That being said, I'll most likely just use Vanguard for my first ME3 Multiplayer character. I had wanted to be a Turian with it and likely go Sentinel, but it looks like I'll probably be starting as a Drell Vanguard.

Though apparently the Vanguard is regarded as the class to try if you're making the transition from Soldier to more biotics along with Sentinel. Sentinel's defensive, Vanguard's the opposite, obviously, even though you can dart in and out.

Vanguard is popular? D;

I always seem to choose the most used. Whatever.

What race do you guys plan on playing for multiplayer?

What media do you guys play ME on so we can set up a multiplayer date? Lol.

Soldier is the most popular class according to Bioware's stats, with just over 50% of people choosing him.

Vanguard is completely and utterly terrible if you're playing on any dificulty above Normal. Don't choose Vanguard unless you're playing the game on simple mode (anything below Hardcore) in which case it make no difference what class you choose.

any class but soldier is hard to use because you can literally walk around and use no abilities as a soldier (case in point, soldier is really easy to use, if you want the challenge, use something else)

seriously, i'm doing adept on hardcore and the game is ****ing impossible, i'm using mostly garrus and grunt as my team mates because the others don't give enough options for my guy

Though even the Engineer and Sentinel can do things on Hardcore. Engineer gets near enough a constant stream of explosive drones, and the enemies always target them first, so you can just constantly distract Harbringer with them. Sent gets a good shield too.

Vanguard must be about the 2nd worst, the only one that's worse would be Adept I think.

I've heard some missions with Infiltrator are IMPOSSIBLE on anything above Normal because apparently Cloak doesn't work on some enemies there. And they're the enemies you REALLY want it to work on.

Really? Unable to explore the citadel other than the shopping areas, no visiting planets, it felt so much smaller than ME1.

I've never PLAYED ME1, and when I played ME2, I had only heard people talk about how awesome the series was and never really seen it for myself, so I didn't have the whole "this is what ME1 is" thing.

ME2 has far better controls, more character development, doesn't have the Mako, and more paragon/renegade decision making

ME1 was a real RPG, story had some really impactful decisions, and didn't seem as linear, while having a larger exploration idea

seriously, if ME3 just combined the two games, it would be amazing

one thing, is it possible to romance, miranda, jack, AND tali in one file, i've managed both miranda and tali, but i feel like it's going to be impossible to have all 3 :D

I forgot where I read this, but apparently ME3 can be played in three ways. Roleplaying (which is what ME2 was like), Story (meant to ease combat for players interested in story) and Action, which streamlines cut scenes and makes the game more combat intuitive.

I'm curious to try Action, but will probably stick to conventional means of Roleplaying.

Isn't the game meant to be a combination of the 3?

Nope, taken from the wiki...

"Mass Effect 3 will feature different play styles for people who prefer a different presentation. The three different styles are Roleplaying, Action, and Story."
That sounds kind of stupid. The ME series has always combined all 3 of these elements. I guess I'll just pick whichever presentation makes ME play like ME has always played.

that seems like a pointless addition

also with the multiplayer aspect of the game, i really hope there isn't that recoil from getting hit by a concussion shot, cause that would be stupidly broken (if there is pvp like multiplayer)
