LMAO are you guys that ****ing ********? seriously? This is why I don't like talking with random scrubs on the boards. I give a ton of reasons and then at the end of everything mention a game to watch to see a good showing of the MU, next post is ignoring everything I said and attacking the video.

**** you guys. Go learn to analyse games and come back when you can tell the difference between **** around friendlies (falcon dittos on FD) and a battle with nothing but victory on the line between two people who enjoy competition (armada vs PP; PP vs M2K; M2K vs anyone). Quit posting until youre not dumb about the **** that you post.
LOL

Too many Maths sleepin on ftilt. Walk -> ftilt is def underused, esp vs floaties.

:phone:
Really? I deliberately try to avoid it, the lag if you wiff is on par with fsmash's, and if you're sure you're going to hit, I don't see why I wouldn't use something stronger. What uses do you have for it?

Also, I :ibwc: Marth boards

If you whiff yes but the startup is far better meaning the hitbox is already out as soon as you used it which allows you to catch people DDing or shielding, it has great range and a lot less predictable imo.

Sorry for losing my temper. Idiots that don't/can't read my posts and then respond to things out of context really get under my skin. I've really cut down the number of posts recently because of how many people do that.

very good read. personally I'd put marth vs peach at 90-10, but I see some people are really underestimating Marth in this mu

This. I find its useful when I can't get a kill move in, tippered ftilt has nice knockback. The lag at the end is also 14 frames shorter than fsmash.

Alright, I suppose I slightly exaggerated the lag on it :p nonetheless, if you're worried about the lag (meaning you aren't relatively sure you'll get a hit) wouldn't it be better to go for fair or dtilt?

The startup is just 3 frames faster, that's pretty low for how much less rewarding landing an ftilt is vs landing an fsmash.

Iunno, I'm just so used to hating it. lol.

The mr saturns always get me man.

On the subject of ftilt vs fsmash, it's not just the fact that framewise it's slightly faster but the fact that the hitbox comes out low and finishes high (sorta like a tennis backhand) where as fsmash comes from over the top and finishes at the ground. This means ftilt will be covering Marth's feet/body earlier than fsmash where you can get hit out of the start up of fsmash cause so much of your body is exposed.

That's a really good point, I hadn't considered that. Suppose I'll work on incorporating it, haha.

IIRC ftilt also has more range than fsmash.
Is there a list somewhere of attack lengths from a neutral position? That'd be hella useful.

lol @ buy me a ticket to DE. Why don't you buy your own ticket with all the money you've won from tournaments..........?

I'll see you around just don't forget to shake my hand after I take your money.

what? now you are just name dropping without a purpose. What exactly does that mean? I've been asked to play Falco for example by Eggz. What does that mean?well..it means 2 things. Jack and ****. I'm done with you though. I'll see you when I see you and when I see you I'm going to beat you. Until then...best of luck to you.

is this the part where you play calm and try to make me seem like the guy who was upset? I'm not serious the majority of the time tbh. It's hard to be serious on smashboards it's rated E for everyone and ****. Still I don't want to waste my time or anyone else with some Ray J beef on the marth boards so I'll put it simple so you can understand it.

Play me and beat me or shut up and eat me.

got that? It rhymes :awesome:

You wouldn't stand a chance against me, which is why i find you so funny. But I barely even play this game any more, much less travel, which is why I said fly me. Otherwise come to the MW.

How about this, I'll buy a ticket to DE and play you in smash. If i win you pay for the entire trip.

ftilt always trips me up. Boat Mode likes to do this thing where he slowly walks foward and spams it when he has the center of the stage, which covers him high and low. its hard to really get in on it and im forced back a bit, which is never good.

also, $40 to whoever can stop Sveet and Spam's **** waving contest. seriously guys, nice epeen battle, but take it to PM or something. no one cares.

I think marth wins but no marth plays it right...

I have played like every single good marth player and none of them really know what they are doing, which makes sense since there are so few puff players

you have to play really different vs. puff, which is why its hard for marth players...

they focus too much on fthrow fsmash, when its really not a big part of the matchup at all, if the puff is good they will di it and not get grabbed much... of course you could use pivots to tip fsmash, but marths are too lazy to learn that so its whatever

eh im not sure what to write about it... if you pick a specific aspect of the match like recovery or something i could talk about it

Lets break it up then into 5 sections.

Space Control:

Ground game:

Aerial game:

Neutral positions:

Edge game:

thoughts?

oh god... this is too much for me to handle right now lol

space control: use more ftilt, outside of the game... think A LOT about how to get stage control back... don't wait until you play a puff for the first time in tourney to think of it, you'll lose

ground game: don't go for grabs at all until you get better at other stuff, use downtilt and ftilt more, spaced dash attacks can be amazing but require a lot of room

aerial game: every aerial is good except bair, fair obv. the main aerial u'll be using, not sure what to say... you can beat all her aerials with ur its just about who has better spacing... just don't let her down when she's above you, use platform wavelands to surprise her/keep her from landing

neutral position: just a combination of the above two things... just poke with dtilts, space fairs, use ftilts to frustrate her then punish with tipped fsmash when she doesn't space perfectly

edge game: you lose at the edge, practice ways to get back and vary them so she can't just like read a roll and rest, vary your recovery using counter, shieldbreaker, fair to defend, side-b and curling to mixup recovery... u can actually "edgeguard" her really well... same idea as peach, just keep hitting her off, shieldbreaker here is godlike because it has more range than fair and thats what the jiggs is gonna space outside of, plus it will kill really early on like yoshis or with bad di, dtilt when then go low, dtilt ledge when they grab it to bait fair/ bairs off the ledge and then iasa the dtilt into fsmash/ftilt to frustrate them, get them offstage again

thoughts?- Marths shouldn't be allowed to say puff wins when they haven't played any good jiggs for an extended period of time...

well i would respect IB's opinion and ask him why he thought that...

im not saying all marth's have to say marth wins, im just saying it seems foolish to make a judgement before you have played the matchup against a good puff for an extended period of time... which in my experience is what most marth players do, but maybe im wrong idk
