boss is the best irl <33333.

and going clutch time against a gaw has to be the hardest moment ever in a tourney set. (game 3 last stock, 140%+ both)

it ended me up being able to make a 120%+ comeback against this gaw and somehow.... mario's dsmash clanked with gaw's dsmash LMFAO. and right after it clanked, i still managed to dsmash him. When you land that fsmash for a kill, it FEEEEEEELS so much good.

I realized that.. if your at clutch time... fishing for that kill... you can't be predictable.. you can't spam your kill move 4x in a row or some **** like that. Of course Mario's fsmash is safe but it's sooooooooo hard to be patient lol.

I asked Snakeee for advice when it comes to clutch time (last stock high %) he said to be patient, to be calm, just rack up more damage to be in a more advantageous position, camp hard as ****, outspace them and realize the opening for the kill move.

in my winner's bracket, i lost to round 1 rob, l fought Ninjalink the tourney before this one, so l fixed my problems in getting hit by gyro since l used my cape and l don't airdodge next to rob. But the problem was that Rob was ****ing spacing the **** outta me, l had sooo much problems with his spaced Ftilt -_-. NL was telling me l should have aggressive camp him or camped Rob, but l thought it was dumb camping rob lol... so how do you aggressive camp/ camp and get past ftilt??

Why wasn't I there? So many good players came to this and I was playing music at a precollege. Ally, M2K, Meep, Tyrant, P~S, and Boss at a tourney half an hour away from me. And that's only the players out of state. I should've been there.

That explains why I sometimes have gotten it to work. I always thought it was bad DI on their part (though I tend to do Bair>Ftilt more often for damage.).

You all need to start abusing this if you aren't already. Ftilt, utilt, dtilt, fthrow, bair, nair, or anything that will cause your opponent to land on the stage without tumbling will set you up for a free punishment of your choice. Dtilt > fsmash works particularly well at lower percents, and around 80-110% the landing hitbox of dair will set you up perfectly for a stutter-stepped fsmash if the opponent doesn't jump.

Dtilt only works if they have bad reaction time. They can punish before you get out of the move's animation.

Also, M2K managed to find a ride to Viridian City? Well... I guess it's a good thing I wasn't there to accept the ride he offered to the nearby NEOH tourny...

Um, I thought that was known... for the longest time. All you have to do is press back and up to do it (or at least that's how I've been doing it.)

I've known about it forever. Didn't you guys read my Mario guide?

Oh yeah and playtest B-air -> F-smash guys. I want to know how practical it actually is.

Ask anybody. Back in my earlier days, I used to constantly use this around KO percentages.

I've long since stopped because it became dangerously habitual, but it works on an unsuspecting opponent. Under proper conditions (late Bair maybe?) it appears to combo, although I'm almost certain it doesn't. Seriously, Fsmash's range has built in setups. Capejump -> AD away -> Fsmash is a reliable setup.

I use it. BO X7 uses it. Boss uses it. Kirin uses it....

Works especially great on characters that love grabbing (DK, D3) since their shieldgrab isn't as far as a SSFsmash. Just don't try it vs Olimar.

Matador, I've tested and 100% confirmed this is a TRUE combo if you do it right.

If your B-air is super stale, it true combos at kill percents.

Otherwise, B-air -> F-smash can be used at mid percents as a damage dealer, since it does like 30% or so.

It's practical for those who don't expect it, or those who let down their shield abit early.

Actually, l won that way, by bairing their shield, then fsmash because l was scared ftw to win the tourney set against a GaW lol

Good to know. How stale does it have to be? Mario could always use more reliable KO setups.

Dunno. I was able to F-smash G&W out of a B-air when I B-aired him at like 87%.

It needs to be pretty darn stale, so after you do a U-tilt or D-throw -> U-air combo, you'd have to be almost exclusively using B-air in order for it to become stale enough to combo at high percents against a lightweight. Probably will work better against a character who you can pressure and edgeguard easily.

At lower percents, they'll land before they can do anything and be stuck in lag while you finish your dtilt. If they take the hard lag, it's fsmash time.

Also, since jab > jab puts them in the air and has a natural 7-frame advantage already, you can pretty much do whatever the hell you want to their supple little bodies after it.

I never knew/thought of this. Thanks! That's one more setup for me!

Boss caught Ally with it twice I think during their set. Bo did too IIRC, lol.

Check it out to see how it's done.

Edit: Nvm, Boss did it once during the set, and it was sorta weird. The way I land it, I'll capejump to intentionally hit their shield so that they'll try to punish with a shieldgrab. If they do that, I'll airdodge away and stutterstep my Fsmash.

Works wonders.

Mario actually is pretty good on RC if you ask me. Not like G&W or MK good, but he's really good at camping on this stage indeed.
