So first match I get ***** and 2nd match is DK64.. meh.. but the 3rd match is probably the most worth watching, as it's on a neutral and it's fairly even for most of the game.

S2J is THE up-and-coming player in Socal.. he's been playing for barely a year and is already as good as everyone else who's been playing for 3-5 years. I feel like I'm pretty weak at the matchup in general, and it seems like everyone else is good at it so I'm sure you could point out some basic stuff I'm missing. I think I need to ftilt through their nairs more.. but s2j always waits for it then punishes so I always wanna do something else

Also what do you guys usually ban against Falcon? I like everything.

Another last stock, last hit set. I feel like I figured him out pretty good as the match went on (3rd match on FD is ****) but then he was beating me most of the 5th match so I really don't know. I'm assuming it was the stage. Theoretically I don't mind large stages against Peach, but I've decided that I like small stages better against McCain. Next time I am not going to ban anything against him; not as disrespect but just so I can see what he would pick and how I would do on Brinstar (usually don't mind this stage either). Cause so far I don't know what stage I like the least. I attribute my loss on Dreamland to me re-learning his style rather than the stage itself. MacD banned Battlefield which I think was very smart.

If you only watch one match, watch match 3.

Zhu always ***** me, he's definitely a step above and I believe he's still the 2nd best on the West Coast even though he's had some pretty horrible losses lately. But yeah there are a lot of little things that make me think he's way better than I am- I'm just struggling to keep up. As for stages, this is another matchup where I don't mind any stage. I went back to Battlefield 3rd match because it's where I thought I had the best shot of winning. Obviously Zhu loves this stage but it's not advantageous to Falco, just personal preference, and I don't mind playing against that. I also think I should go to smaller stages against Zhu.. but next time I will try something different just to see.

I'd say the first and 3rd match are the ones most worth watching.

Kira (Sheik) vs Eggz (Various) Money Match - Skip the first part, it's MacD vs Noobking, might be just friendlies or a MM I don't know. For this one, Eggz and I did a 2/3 MM for $5, then extended it to 3/5, then extended it to 4/7 lol. Then we did a legit $5 3/5 set afterwards. This was between our Winners Bracket set and the Losers Semis set. I won both lol but ended up losing in tournament later and getting 4th place =( but oh well

watched vs. zhu set:

i like the wavedash oos pivot grab after he dash attacks through u. I usually usmash oos, but what u do looks pretty. You stopped doing that in the third game. Among other things. U just were not crispy game 3. Missed edgeguards, multiple tech chases.

U go for alot of aerial based getup counters after u knock him over with dash attack. like dairs and stuff. then he would roll away from it. staying on the ground and a quick dash dance type of bait keeps u more reactive and works better imo. there were alot of times u could've just jabbed his missed tech in time too .

i dont like taking spacies to kongo jungle. Can be good, but I dont like it. falco jumps too high, hard to trap him when he can get up to those skyscraper platforms in a second and doesnt have to come back down until he has his laser spacing right. Plus he comboes u off them.

i like the more traditional battlefield counterpick. No huge advantages there, besides the edge, but i am just super comfortable there.

Wavedashing out of shield is hard and I just barely got it down (but I always forget to use it) Now doing the Pivot Wavedash out of shield is alot harder for me. Just gotta keep working on it.


By the way kira, when is it the best situation to use needles because I can never find the time to use it. I keep thinking it's useless, but the way you use it is very effective. It's like you use it stop their momentum and force them to play at your pace.

ic thanks. I think I'm always too worried about getup attacks so I always try to avoid them. But I need to cover all the options better.

i banned battlefield because zhu ALWAYS counterpicks it. he's just really good on that stage so I thought I'd take him somewhere he's less comfortable. I was thinking Brinstar too but meh.

I think I just need to be more confident against Zhu. I was hesitating a lot game 3 because I thought he had started to figure me out better (which he did) but I should've just kept playing my game. Thanks for pointing that out

@ djmirror - I really only use horizontal needles to add damage at low percents (or just purely to camp) or on platforms to get in needle > slap. But that approach is pretty obvious so I try to switch it up a bit or just not use it at all. Plus good players never fall for it anyway so there's no point. I would use needles a lot more against floaties to get better position, but against fox or falco it can be hard cause they can camp you back or in fox's case, he can just get around it easily.

Sometimes I throw a needle to edgeguard spacies just so they can't jump up and Side B too (if they have to upB below the stage it's like an auto-kill).

Hmm I know a lot of other Sheik mains wouldn't be too interested in my videos but meh. I'm the best Sheik main on the west coast and M2K says I'm one of the best sheiks lol if that means anything. If anything people could just point out what I do wrong

I'm glad you were on a break when we played hugsiez. If you were still this good I wouldn't have learned much aside from getting mindgamed and outspaced.

Now when I come to WA I demand we all stay at gimpys again lol

he's good at the basics. that goes a long way.

i was really surprised the first time i played him too (once he got back to melee). at first he wasn't too much of a problem like any other samus, but he learned FAST as **** and picked up solutions almost immediately. i suppose his style is timeless because it relied on spacing and reads. Also because there haven't been any advanced techs that samus players started using since he quit.

also i'd like to mention that samus =/= hugs. Samus is an auto-win for sheik, it's just unfair. hugo makes the matchup take skill, which is something sheik players aren't really used to. so even if you're good against samus, you're not good against hugs.

So after watching SVAR7 videos i have to conclude that EK is my new hero. ima steal his falco game, him returning to smash is like Ken coming out of retirement

also it looks like a TON of moves in pal are weaker, not just like fox upsmash. but anyway

armada is literally TOO good, as in he ***** everyone so bad i just can't like him. but he makes me want to play peach

and where the **** was amsah?

Socal's biggest (and definitely best) tournament in awhile, Pat's House was this past weekend. I think a few of my matches got recorded, including me vs DJ Nintendo, Blunted Object, and maybe Eddy Mexico, so as soon as I find them I'll post them up.
