In the end, you're causing everybody aggravation debating about things nobody besides you want to debate.
I don't understand how this causes you aggravation. Does it aggravate you to see me post like this?

Perhaps you're missing the point? I'll spell it out one last time.

Gimping olimar at 0% takes a set amount of skills, and is doable.
Mastering MK takes more skills (like actual number of skills), and is doable.

My point is to claim that they are comparable is ridiculous because this reasoning could be applied to anything. Maybe you forgot what this conversation is about in the first place?...
This conversation is about you saying gimping oli at 0% is not only doable, but very reasonably doable. This is incorrect.

You also used extremely vague stuff to explain yourself, and have now proceeded to strawman, meaning I can't even respond to you.

EDIT: also... "Social interactions also don't always involve talking." What are you getting at? You're right in saying this, but I don't see how it helps you in any way.
See: My point. Vague criterion are bad criterion and cannot be relied on to show any specifics at all. If a set of criterion can be applied to something that is also extremely off the point or topic, it can be assumed in all reasonable cases that these criterion show few if any specifics about the object.

Ok?

My intention is not to straw man, but when you don't explain yourself clearly at all, I might end up doing that...

I am not incorrect in saying that. I see oli getting gimped at very low %'s (sometimes 0) pretty often. I don't really ever see a mastery of MK, because every MK player loses matches.

These premises kind of lead to the conclusion that the reflexes and decision making skills required to gimp oli are far less demanding than mastering MK.

I love reading arcansi arguements for entertainment purposes. Arcansi, can you not just believe Alphicans seeing as he is a BBR member, third be GW and has so much more experience...enough that you can simply believe that what he says is true.
I see this arguement as me, a basketball player for 6 years going up to Michael Jordan and arguing basketball telling him he is wrong and such. If I was Jordan I'd be offended and find that rude and get angry.
Stupid analogy, and much more extreme but I think it's the same concept

Not to mention that what he says is commonish knowledge and most people would agree with him.

Arcansi, you're fun to hang out with irl and everything, and I enjoy hanging out with you and smashing with you. But once smashboards arguments comes into play, half your posts make absolutely no sense. It goes beyond an annoyance and, to me, it sometimes gets really frustrating reading your posts. I'm sure you and everyone has noticed I've heavily reduced my posting here, and it's because I don't feel like getting involved in these posts. Basically, my point is you're really nice and fun to hang out with irl, but as far as arguments go, maybe slow down on them a bit. I'm not saying you should stop posting or stop arguing entirely, but... just, pick your battles. Some arguments you start, me, and probably everyone else, wonders where you are even going with it.

For example, I could argue again about why mainlanders never come to the island and islanders have to pay so much just to play decent competition, and rant on that again, but instead, all I do instead is post when the island is hosting tournaments, and occasionally a couple come down and play. Ranting all day would just turn everyone off, and probably make nobody except people coming down for melee show up, but instead, just posting the occasional tournament is resulting in more attendance from mainlanders.

Bottom line is, sometimes arguments hurt you more than help you. Just pick your battles. If you think an argument would have more results, then go for it. But think twice before you do, or you might just alienate people into going against you. There are several arguments you have done where people were actually on your side, but you annoyed them so much that even they started posting against you.

Anyways, hopefully that helps. Back to being a lurker again.

Yawn... why is this thread so dead and why is the Alberta thread more active than this one?

So has anybody tried Skyward Sword yet? I got hyped for it and played it for 15 minutes before I got bored (and went to do school stuff).

Actually I'd love to keep playing Skyward Sword. I just couldn't dedicate more time into it that day.

I can lend you mine for a while. I don't think I'll be playing Skyward Sword until finals are over next month.

So my bridge was pretty pro, Braden's failed.

He didn't even have a horizontal beam on the top connecting his triangles together.

Well today we just did the testing that was actually for marks: Hooking 5kg onto the bridge and seeing how it holds up. Sometime next week we'll be getting all the bridges that passed the 5kg together and throwing as much weight as they can hold on them. So there are no winners yet.

But we made the 5kg mark.

Braden's bridge was the only one that couldn't even hold 2kg

We decided since we only needed to hold a weight in the centre we only needed one triangle. It worked :awesome:

I could never build anything like that! Sooo glad I never took physics in high school (well I did in Summer School where we didn't have time for things like that).

I never got a good mark in anything that required creating things or being creative. :x

Yeah... it was really ridiculous. It looks nice because the girls in my group did the final building. I would have ripped stuff (maybe on purpose out of rage).

Never making paper crafts ever again.
