Historically there have been 8 Sages in Toon Link history:

Amari/MJG/Hyro/Santi/Quivo/PJ/Jash/Kingtoon

Atm there are the 4 Lords for Marth and 2 Barons: NEO and KillLock (imo)

Sumabato X 16 is 9/15, SRBT 2-1 is 9/9. According to Masha, the SRBT 2-1 rule is 2on2, and Masha is teaming with Otori. I am unsure if he means it is teams, or 2on2 crew battle. SLS is coming also.

I saw way earlier posts on asking how Kakera glides past the edge without going down at all. See thread: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=326944 to learn how.

Where would you get that idea? Rain has a tournament series he's running, I doubt he'd quit now lol.

I let this thread calm a little down after the SRT craze but now it's a good time to hype things up again. The 2nd season of SRBT tourneys will start this weekend and Sumabato X16 is held the weekend after. Livestream for both tournaments are in the OP.

Edit: Cross, Hayase, Kie and Masashi have signed themselves up for Sumabato X16 so you can expect to see some 'mid tier' action. 9B and Kakera are the only representants of top tier characters on the sign-up list - no Aki, no Souther, no Masha and no Nagahari so far.

The announcement that double MK is banned at Apex came only a few days ago. The SRBT staff must've made that decision a good bit earlier than that.

A lot of Japan players were recently confused about double MK being banned at Apex though. Weeks ago Kakera and Otori expressed their discontent about double MK being banned at Apex a couple times. Some other said that Vinnie said double MK will be surely banned at Apex. Vinnie is also Apex staff but unless Strife told him something secretly I am unsure why some Japanese players said that Vinnie said double MK was banned nearly a month ago.

They're currently playing on stock as a side-event. Kamemushi - the ZSS player - just beat Rain's Falco / MK. Armor pieces are too good in one stock :p

Edit: I think it's single eliminaton. Kamemushi plays Otori [who beat Brood] in the final.

Otori won

1. Otori :metaknight:
2. Kamemushi :zerosuitsamus:
3. Brood :olimar:
4. Rain :falco: :metaknight:

All 3 have their merits.

If you're watching the stream and wondering: 2on2 is NOT doubles. I was confused about that too at first but it's 2on2 SINGLES. Otori / Masha just beat Rain / Shu ... Shu put up a very good and close fight against Otori but Masha styled on Rain's MK.

Waseda style?

was never a fan.

and whats the point of 2v2 single in game that allows you to play 2v2 at the same time?

thats like playing team waseda style in SFxT... doesnt make any sense

2v2 singles?
Weird.

So if Otori was fighting Shu and Masha was fighting Rain, that means it would be illegal for Otori to hit Rain?
I'm also assuming team attack was turned off.

It doesnt' work like that. For example Otori fights Shu in a setup and Rain fights Masha in another. This may result in either a 2-0 for one of the sides or a 1-1. If a draw happens, the winner of each match plays against each other to decide the set winner.

Ah okay

It's just that this
If you're watching the stream and wondering: 2on2 is NOT doubles. I was confused about that too at first but it's 2on2 SINGLES.
Made it sound like all 4 of them would be on the same setup, on the screen at the same time.

(I wasn't watching the stream so I assumed that people saw 2v2 happening and thought it was doubles.)

thats how they do team tournaments in street fighter and other traditional fighting games. but like I said, i think that set up is ******** in a game that already has a simultaneous 2v2 mode.

Doubles and 2on2 singles require different ways of applying skill. It's like saying that lemons are ******** because oranges exist.
