Ally is better with Meat Knight than M2K is? Yeah, okay, Japan. Now when your MKs randomly beat Ally's at Apex 2013, you can claim they're even more good.

Also, lol'd at Vinnie being tied with Kakera for ICs. Regardless of the whole 9B "huge gap" thing, Kakera's Ice Climbers have never looked to me like they were on the level of Vinnie's or even ESAM's.

Also, just a random thought brought on by how unbelievably good Japan considers Ally to be, but I kind of hope Ally develops the most amazing ICs ever and goes on to destroy the entirety of Japan with them. Nothing against Japan, I just think it would sort of serve them right for how they go on and on about Ally da bess.

No, I like Ally a lot, actually. I just don't like the Japanese players insisting Ally is the best in the world despite most of them having never played him.

If the answer is no to any of the above, then you have no basis to claim that Ally ISN'T the best in the world, by your own logic.

And that list is based on Nietono/Selcia's personal experience, which means that they have played them

You aren't really using the word "logic" correctly, but never mind.

I assume all players are NOT the best in the world, and then by considering evidence, I might decide who IS. Innocent of being the best in the world until proven guilty of being the best in the world.

It's a whole different claim from just "oh, X Metaknight is better than Y Metaknight," by the way. Best in the world is pretty weighty title.

Is it really that absurd for anyone to consider the notion that Ally may be the best overall player in the world? There is video/tournament record evidence insisting that he plays the most characters at a very high level, he very rarely (if at all) places outside of top 5 at any tournament level - be it local, regional, national, or international. It's obviously a subjective topic indeed - but I wouldn't think it absurd, nor condemn anyone, for forming that sort of opinion about him.

B_AWAL would be happy to know that ESAM is his consistent counter at the moment.

There's also a difference between claiming that "Ally isn't a better MK than M2K", and claiming that the claim that "Ally is a better MK than M2K" is unjustified.

I still think ally is the best honestly. That isnt to say other players arent close. But I havent seen some so comfortable with so many characters and can compete with them at top level and adapts so fast and etc etc. He generally only loses to cgs so we could assume he's bad at not getting grabbed (even though he isnt particularly)

Not saying he is, but my opinion is that he's like top3 in the world with 9b and some other player. Vinnies good but I dont think hes top3 but he's top something.

These are all my random opinions though, just waiting at the greyhound station...

i dont really see anywhere where they say that ally is the best player in the world...

only thing they said is that hes easily the best snake that they have played against. which is fair and that out of the mks they have played, he also ranks very high. better than m2k, which is also fair, even if you dont agree.

i dont see why somebody would get upset about 2 guys giving their opinion based on the people they have played.

Based on my experiences playing Ally, M2k, and Anti. I'd rank Ally as #1 . He's just smart. M2k just rushes people down and follows up great, but he has fatal flaws that hinder him from being better then Ally. I mean M2k's style is non-copyable and works, but it can also be exploited easier then Ally's.

Basically M2k takes more riskier things on shield. He also lacks the knowledge of how to approach some characters and just nado's. Not bad and can work, but it's much easier to exploit then some of the stuff Ally does.

see the problem here is 2-fold

1. youre looking at the last 3 years of m2k accomplishments and comparing it to the last 3 years of havok, so it seems laughable to you.

2. Masha is only looking at the 2-5 games or so he played with m2k and comparing to the few games or sets hes played or watched from havok. so it seems obvious to him

realistically m2k probably has a more completely knowledge of the character and all his matchups than havok, but they probably arent as far apart as you think.

Probably the same reason that M2K said Mikeneko was the best Marth in the world after playing him, but when Quik played him he said Leon was better.

Mikeneko might just be better than all the other Marths at the MK MU (Japan's MKs are the best imo) so he was harder for M2K, whereas Leon has experience vs Quik, and to a lesser extent, Tay's, Okals', and Mr.R's ZSSs so he's probably quite a bit better at the ZSS MU than Mikeneko is, which is probably why Quik thinks Leon > Mikeneko.

Havok and I don't play the Falco MK match up a lot. Actually, I think the last time I've played him in that match up was over a year ago. Any Falco practice he's gotten has probably been from Tearbear's Falco.

Mew2King is better than Havok in the match up from watching both of their videos against Masha and playing Mew2King this past weekend. Mew2King told me once he got DQed game 1 he had already given up and didn't want to play anymore.

More people need to start attacking m2k psychologically when they play him. Seems like he gets ten times easier to beat if you make him sad or something. As seen by his trying to play falco in the last game of the tournament

Mew2King went Falco against me because he's beaten me in Falco dittos before. Honestly, he's better at Falco dittos than majority of the high/top Falco players.

Late, but several Japanese players (including Rain and 9B) told M2K (or otherwise said) that they consider Ally the best in the world. Maybe they're actually right, but I just didn't like it because it felt like they were hyping him up so when they win it'll be even more impressive. Paranoid? Probably.

One thing you don't get from Japan is that kind of annoying fanboyism, like people have for 9B. When they say Ally is the best in the world, it's obviously not meatriding. But if you look at posts on SWF or YouTube comments (lol YouTube comments), the level of 9B (or insert Japanese player's name here) meatriding can be insane. People in stream were saying 9B was sandbagging the instant it looked like he might lose to Otori, and they were saying it before he even started playing Vinnie. And these people aren't even Japanese!

Dunno what my point is here. I guess I actually respect the way the Japanese talk about player rankings in general more than the way folks over here do.

I think that attacking anyone psychologically will make the person facing them much easier.

But the level of ease with which you could affect someones mood and by extention their gameplay varies highly for each player. Its part of why Ally is so good. Think of all the times youve seen m2k literally quit or give up a match at the end, compared to ally.

I am correcting my statement about Mikeneko. I had the feeling he wasn't thaaat good, after we played on first day.
But we played a few days later again, i noticed he learned the matchup "over night", so it was harder for me, making my game against him like on first day.

I don't want to say anymore, who is better. It's hard to tell, maybe impossible. But it is obvious, that we can count Mikeneko to the "4 Admiral Marths" with Mr.R, Leon and Mikehaze
