If you want a good controller, you need to order a Japanese white one from playasia.com. I promise you that those controllers respond really well, better than the Nintendo controllers. I'm really picky when it comes to controllers too, and I could arrow loop perfectly 1st try on the Japanese controllers(same technique if you ask) and it wouldn't work on my Nintendo controllers.

The material used to make them is slightly different which is why they discontinued making the original gamecube controller due to cheaper materials or lack of them.

Although the play asia controller is the closes thing to the original but probably better from what I have heard.
